- Truly vertigo inducing hike between Mürren and Gimmelwald on the cliff edge Via Ferrata!
If going, i would advise you to have a very good head for heights, have done other via ferratas and made sure you know what you are going to encounter, do not enter this VF without knowing what is ahead of you.

Enjoy!
Soundtrack: on the horizon, Jonathan Maiocco.
Truly an amazing feat, Adrian. But I am in greater awe of those persons who managed to install the cables and rebar footings.
100% agree with you!
WOW ThanK You SO MUCH FOR THAT TERRIFYING HIKE> My hands were shaking too !! But the VIEW!!
Very cool video! and congrats 👍
One suggestion though, clip you carabiners in opposite directions. That makes it impossible to grab them and unlock them both at the same time by accident.
Thanks for the feedback. This was one of my first VF’s a few years back and learnt quickly this technique, after posting this vid!!
That looks so cool. Nothing clears the brain like a little exposure. Thanks for sharing
“A little exposure” 🤣🤣 understatement of the year!
Wow, this is insanely scary for me 🫣 Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
Oh my oh my I started getting queasy! Amazing view!🤩
Imagine being up there! 🤣🤣
Super awesome, would love to do this.Thank you for sharing.
Well…..THAT…..was amazing!!!!!!
I did it a few years ago. It was amazing. Thanks vor the reminder.
Cool, its a good one!
Cool, its a good one!
Good fun, thank you for sharing!
You are welcome, hope you “enjoyed” it! 🤣🤣
fantastisch. Herzzerreißend verrückt.
Wow amazing 🙆🙋💪❤️😍
Thank you so much 😀
Nice
Great video. Brings back some scary memories !
Yes, that section is never to be forgotten lightly!!
Thrilling performance congratulations, please take care 👌👌👌
Thanks!
WOW! At first I thought "well, it's just ladders, that's easy" then halfway through I was like "HOLY SHIT that's exposed!" Congrats!
Thanks, yes it does go a bit bonkers!!
Really great, thrilling experience congratulations 👍
Thank you! It was a really thrilling course 🏔
Well information. Good show.
Thanks!
beautiful place.
Yes, its amazing
Looks so beautiful but so scary at the same time. I bet it was an amazing experience! I have never done a via ferrata and I'd need to develop more of a head for heights first.
Yes, this VF needs a real confidence in dealing with the void before taking on, that is 500m of air below you!
@@adeeyp That's a long drop! I've watched the guys BASE jump off the top of it which is crazy.
Does this VF cost anything to do? How much experience doing a VF should somebody have before doing this one?
I bet that part where you are on the small rungs with that much air beneath you is exhilarating!
@@Quake120 it is free. I would recommend a few “less vertigo” courses before this one, are you in switzerland?
@@adeeyp I wish I was in Switzerland! I am in the US but if I ever did go to Switzerland, I'd definitely want to go to Gimmelwald (and Lauterbrunnen!) and do this.
@@Quake120 then i would try and do some easy via ferratas to start out before this one, i reckon there will be a few in the US. Near to lauterbrunnen is another one called Rotstock which is much less insane! Here are my top ones here in the alps.... czcams.com/video/eJKlP9t7wR0/video.html
Nicely done. I did this a few years back. That exposed part is super scary straight down. Been looking at the via Ferrata in Leukerbad if I ever go back….
Thank you! I would also call out the bridge at the end for exposure! 😳
Thanks for the video! I am just getting into climbing but great to have a goal for the future 😃
Best of luck! It is a great adventure 💪
Thanks for sharing, will be trying this one in the future. This year I wanna do the one in Austria at Donnerkogel klettersteig 🙂💪🏻
Norway has also quite beautiful via ferratas as well. Recommend the one at Trolltunga and Loen 😊
Have fun!
Did this a couple weeks back! First ever via feratta...exposed section scared the shite out of me 😂
This is a tough course to do as a first via ferrata as it is one of the most exposed courses in the world!
Das war mein erster Guter Weg.
Dude, breathe! Your nervousness made that way harder than it really is. Just did it a couple weeks ago. The bridge at the end is no joke!
Haha! Was one of my first VF’s a few years ago. Got much more confidence after this one. Yes, that is the scariest bridge i think on any via ferrata… lack of both sides handrails is the problem i reckon
@@adeeyp BUT YOU COULD CLIP ON to the bridge lines? I didn't see one, but i've NO idea
@@pjismydawg yes you have a clip line
@@adeeypI just did this about a month ago, and I agree the bridge is the most challenging part.
I'm afraid of heights, and even watching this video is hard for me. But I want to do this VF someday.
This is not a good VF to do if you don’t like heights but there are a few others less veritgo inducing! Check out my website www.viaferratadatabase.com, i have a few suggestions there in Switzerland / France.
@@adeeyp Nice website! I'm bookmarking it. Thank you.
What's the difficulty level of this VF? I did some via ferrata for the first time this year in the Dolomites and can't wait to get some more experience and be able to climb something like this one day! Amazing video, thank you for sharing!!
It is K3 / Difficile / C in my opinion. Technically its fairly simple, but in vertigo / gas, it is as challenging as it gets.
Exactly. I reacted like you the first time, thanks for sharing!
sportswise its not very challenging but its the view you do it for
Leukerbad viaferrata is the most famous and dificile in Switzerland
Nice, how many hours did it take climbing + getting back on the ground?
It is about 2-3 hours to complete the trail. You start in the village of Mürren and finish in Gimmelwald, both are accessible by cable car without needing to hike.
I'm shitting myself just by watching the video
I want to see "The making of.......". How the H did they build this?
Definitely. And also, who thought of the idea and created the route. So much incredible skills in all these Via Ferrata routes.
Would you advice someone to do this to get rid of their fear of heights?
A healthy human fear of heights...
Or is this to big of a shock for the body to function properly?
Hi, no I don’t.
There are other via ferratas much less challenging than this one to attempt first if you have a fear of heights. This one really has the extreme vertigo challenge and because there is no escape, its needs full confidence before the start is even considered. I would go to climbing gyms as a great place to start on self-rappel walls. Much safer and less challenging.
Is there a charge to climb this?
No, it is free. However, if you dont have the necessary equipment, there is a charge to hire / buy this.
Can you please tell me about charges or its without fee
No fee, unless you want to rent VF equipment from the local intersport store in Murren.
Exact location?
Mürren, Berner Oberland, Switzerland
youtube - showing me things I really want to avoid at all costs.
Can you do this solo or do you need a guide?
don't need a guide, but need a good physical and mental strenght
@@billnoa3704 Thanks! I'm going to do this when I get there in a few weeks. If you have any info I can use, please send me a link if you have.
If you have no experience, it's better to do it with a guide (I think the cost is approx. 150 CHF per person). It's easy to make dangerous mistakes, like blocking the shock absorber on your via ferrata set by putting a carabiner in the wrong place. There is a channel on CZcams where you can learn a lot about how to get prepared for a via ferrata. The channel name is JetSetYourself.
@@brinckau yep already joined the channel. Thank you!
Better to have a guide if it is your first via ferrata. There are some hair raising moments.

Via Ferrata in Turkey : czcams.com/video/OufUVBVnYZ0/video.html
I am gonna be brutally honest- apart from the 2 main parts of this Ferrata which accounts for maybe 15 % of this Via Ferrata , it is utterly boring- over filled with tourists and nothing more than a hike through the forest. Sorry- thats my opinion.
I agree with you 💯. This was only my 3rd VF, nearly 3 years ago, and i found so many more well designed courses since then. But i will say the 15% is still very cool!
I liked the video until it says: "wear a mask" 🤮
That’s because i did the VF in the middle of the pandemic, different era now! We move on!
@@adeeyp Ok , I Understand 🙂
