Lockyer has had the most clutch moments in a career I can remember seeing and that includes Johns, Thurston, Smith. There were so many games that hung in the balance for the Broncos, Queensland or Australia and it was always Lockyer who made the clutch play.

So true! Lockyer is a legend and my favourite of all time. Always such a clean player too
Nobody even comes close to Lockyer in clutch plays. They didn't even mention his plays to beat Gold Coast twice in Golden Point or his GP field goal in his final ever game with a fractured eye socket.

We are forgetting the pioneer Allan Langer in kicking. He started the Kicking for the winger. The First time we saw and they/we/everyone thought Willie Carne was offsite. How do we forget that. Allan Langer GoAT. This happened in State of Origin.

Paey Dean what? Langer was a brilliant last tackle grubber into the in goal specialist. He couldnt kick for distance at all, 40/20 wouldnt be in his bag. The crossfield kick has been done since forever. Ricky could bang a 30/10 kick such was the length of his boot, he also pioneered the spiral bomb and the kick back across the ruck.
@@docgonzales I suggest you watch the 98 grand final and the game 1 98. Langer puts in at least 1 kick in each game that goes 45m-50m and results in a goal line drop out. While yes early in his career his long kicking game wasn’t of the quality you get from johns or Lockyer or Lewis or Stuart. However to pretend he couldn’t kick long distance is to ignore the fact he worked damn hard on his game and certainly grew his long kicking game.
Also the cross field kick was also a langer weapon brought to the game. Mostly through the changing of the game. Halfbacks didn’t do cross kicks in the 80s because you could tackle the fullback in the air and their was no catch in ingoals 20m restart. So halfbacks just simply bombed the ball as ugh as possible and set upon the fullback. But with the changing of the rules langer was most certainly 1 of if not the first to implement the cross kick to the winger big wingers like carne or sailor.

For the last 2 names there, i can think Cameron smith can replace one of them, his ability of knowing what needs to be done at a moment is unparalleled, his footy iq is why i think he is the most clutch, Melbourne probably was the most successful NRL team in the last 10 years its because Cameron can show them the way

@@jest3167 That 2018 Roosters team was stacked. Storm didn't stand a chance against Manu and Latrell in the centres. Croft and Munster were never going to touch Keary and Cronk.

NSW was going for 4th series win on 2006, in that 3rd game NSW was given a try when it was a clear knock on. Before that game (3rd game of SOO in 06) former QLD players were wanting his head if he lost that series. But Locky has never given up in big games, he always plays till the final whistle and takes calculated risks, and he did it in all levels of our great game. Even with a broken cheekbone he kicks the field goal to beat the Dragons in one of the finals games in 2011.....ok he's my favourite player lol

Add Johns to the list of goal kickers too. Johns is a more clutch goal kicker than smith
