Roland D-50 Celebration Moments with Eric Persing

- Eric Persing has had a unique and influential relationship with Roland Corp for two decades. He started as a product demonstrator in 1984, showing some of Roland's first MIDI instruments. He quickly became involved in the R&D side with Roland Japan, earning the title "Chief Sound Designer", and began contributing his design ideas, real-world studio experience and sound design expertise. Persing's skills have left their mark on countless classic Roland instruments.
He is the originator of many legendary Roland sounds that have become part of the vocabulary and lexicon of musical sound. These include the Factory D-50 sounds such as Fantasia, Soundtrack and Digital Native Dance, a majority of the JV/XP/XV series Classics, all the Factory JD-800 sounds, the original Juno "Hoover" sound and thousands of others.
In this video, we were able to catch up with Eric 30 years after the launch of the D-50 to celebrate his memories of our legendary synth.

Eric is a living legend. The D-50 was probably the best synth I ever owned.

Major goosebumps when he mentioned MJ ( I was actually hoping he would ,when he mentioned playing for sessions.) BAD, the album changed my life and the D-50 gave it so much character (with the DX7 complimenting it). Thanks Eric for the D-50 sounds!
This synth was basically Omnisphere but from the 80’s/90’s.
Eric created the Hoover Sound and the Super Saw sound, He is an amazing sound designer
Wonder if Eric and Roland would do a new hardware synth based on Eric’s Omnisphere software (which is pretty much the concept of the D50). Omnisphere inside a hardware synth would actually be awesome.
Actually i would be interested in the ENTIRE spectrasonics line of instruments such as stylus rmx, trillian and keyscape and integrating them into omnisphere 2, team up with roland, add a keyboard into it and call it a saturn rather than a jupiter

The best keyboard roland D50 I just bought a roland D50 my self my cousin uses it on his international pop band Persian style such a nice keyboard there will never be one like it it’s a special keyboard the best great job roland we need one like it it’s the best

With the success Roland is having with the Boutiques, it would be a no brainer. It's hard to imagine them not releasing a JD-08.

Be aware many people are having issues with the Roland Cloud VSTi's specially the D50 with massive CPU spikes which is odd since the VSTi is only 20 MB. The coding is very sloppy. VSTis are now pushing 20 years and Roland has no excuses since they have access to the real hardware and schematics and ended up with a sloppy VSTi coding.
we need a S series sampler with a complete sample library
bd594 Some of those sounds were included on U-110 and U-220 PCM sound module, but of course, S Series like S-50,550,770,760 does more flexibility. But I have google them and there are some blogs over there which has the complete sounds that you can download them for free.
