I can't help but get a tear in my eye every time I watch this video. My grandmother was a piano master and I loved to watch her play boogie woogie style. She died a few years back from breast cancer. Listening to this and seeing you with that pink ribbon on your shirt really means a lot. Thanks!
i am sorry that your grandmother died of breast cancer.. any kind of cancer is horrible.. my mom's sister, my aunty Roxy, she died on Christmas Day 2012
Might be 6 years ago but he plays like hes from 6 decades ago. if this was 1960 he would be as famous as Jerry Lee, Elvis, and so many others. Epic skills far beyond pro. Iam a huge fan now
Frkn excellent! I saw this after hearing Jerry passed, brought tear and some joy. There will Never be another Jerry Lee but you can keep it alive. Thanks
If you haven't saw the video of where Jacob played at Jerry's birthday party then pull it up and you'll get your mind blown. And Jerry loved this kid so good that he asked him to be his best man when him and his wife renewed there vows .
Yes! “Piano Talk!” Boogie Woogie lets the keys take off on their own~ Love it!! Thank you Jacob Tolliver and Jerry Lee for bringing music to life! No better exercise than dancing and that’s what we like to do when we hear these songs!
I’ve been watching a lot of different boogie woogie players, but this guy is probably the best. The command of his left hand is unparalleled. It’s so natural to him, it’s like he’s not even trying.
When I was in College we used to drive down to Washington DC on Saturday night (the drinking age was 18 there). we went into a bar one trip and there was a piano player tinkling away - nothing rambunctious. He went on a break and my roommate went over and sat down and started cranking out boogie woogie music like this (not quite as good as Jacob, but pretty close). The whole bar went nuts and when the regular guy came back, the patrons wouldn't let him play, till Bert got tired and quit.
I wonder if he's related to Jerry Lee Lewis. Must have inherited that talent from somewhere. He's wonderful. His parents must be so proud. If he was my kid I wouldn't be able to stop bragging. Great talent & a real showman, very confident. I wish I was that talented.
+Jo. Unrau Jo i don't know if he is related, but he has met jerry and his current wife in person and has been on AMERICAN IDOL... He is Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he really deserves a recording contract......
Hola Jacob! Te re felicito! Sos la mejor recreación de Jerry. Tenés tanta seguridad y carisma. Tenés tanto talento instrumental y vocal que sorprende gratamente. Bendiciones ❗✍️
Been listening to this and his other JLL covers at least 6 times a week since discovering. It motivates me to practice and challenge my playing much more.
1. It hasn't been proven, music is a subjective taste 2. The old classics are not dead genres, genres like boogie woogie and blues are very much alive, but aren't as respected and loved as fresh modern times. 3. People like u don't understand how music changes over time, and are ignorant as fuck
@@pdubbxdmobliegamer5244 It is proven. Listen to it! Music is NOT subjective; it's fact. If you have ears to hear, you can put 50 people in a room and if it's great music, all 50 will agree. If someone can do it like the older generation by studying the classics then it might sound just as great. I understand how music changes over time however it changed for the worse. I have been playing music since I was 10 (am now 44). My mom was a singer, played piano and danced so I have her genes with music. People nowadays love the shit being put out in the mainstream and that's what we're stuck with. There are musicians who study the classics but that'll never get put on TV again because the young generation doesn't like it so it's dead as far as being hit music ever again. It will never die in our hearts and the classics will always be there but it will never be top 40 hits again. It's a fact.
Can't help but wonder what the great classics composers like Mozart and Beethoven would of thought about boogie woogie. As innovators of their time, I'd like to think they would if loved it!❤
Hot dang! Real hardware stores do still exist. They contain the pulse of a community and are the last vestige of what used to be "general stores". They also sometimes can be haunted by a boogie woogiein' master. I wonder if there's a 3-gallon jug of locally grown dill pickles sitting next to the cash register. Awesome!!!

She`s continuing playing somewhere else for us, be sure!!!!
Best regards from Austria!
@@tom2703 Thank you! I watched it again. I love this video.

This is rockn roll. From a technical standpoint 60% easier to play than Boogie Woogie, because it is super repetitive.

Absolutely incredible!

modern music is just not good enough to beat the old great and fantastic musics!
that's exactly what they were saying when this was modern.
