I love my leap chair. It's honestly the best office chair I've ever used.
I just bought one of these second hand for £5! Had no idea what I was getting, it was in a warehouse full of old mouldy officechairs. I thought I would buy it and try to clean it up because it was such an unusual design. The mould just brushed right out of the fabric! No stains at all. And, wow... what a chair!
you so lucky. congrats! ☺️ i payed 700€ for it
I got this chair some days ago for $200. Fully functional. Unbelievable price!!! Used but excellent quality. Worth 4 hours driving round trip lol. Best chair ever, I couldn’t describe how much happy and grateful I am to have this one. I tried Aeron, Celle, tCentric, Humanscale, they are far from perfect.
I've been spoiled by using both a Steelcase Gesture and a competitor's Aeron in the office for some time. After being spoiled by these quality chairs I've purchased a black fabric on platinum frame Leap several months ago. I absolutely love the modern look and how this chair fits like a comfy glove. Of all the chairs I've used, this has the best lumbar support and feature set. The Gesture is a close second to me for comfort since I really can dial in the Leap's lumbar. Thanks for these great products!
I've tried this chair in a showroom and it was exceptionally supportive to my back. It felt like I don't need to pay attention how I sit in the chair, because it automatically put me in the right seating posture and supporting my back throughout it's whole surface. Like the weight of my back was spread out evenly on the backrest. Amazing chair. Wish it was cheaper or at least more available second-hand in europe.
Thank you for weighing in and sharing your experience, @neotrope!
thank you - very comfy chair
Just got my Leap today. This is an excellent chair, such an upgrade from my old no-name faux-leather junker! I look forward to using it for years (decades even) to come!
How do you like it after 8 months of use? How does it compare to other chairs you use for long hours?
@@MrSupernova111 still love it! I’m a bigger guy, around 240lb and sometimes if I sit down too fast I hear some not-great sounding noises, but it still seems like a really solid piece and is as comfy as ever. Absolutely much better for multiple hours than my old chair which was like sitting on nails after 20 minutes
@@harrisonjr98 . Nice! I really appreciate the reply. I've done a fair amount of research and it seems that for the price it might be as good as it gets. Thanks!!
@@MrSupernova111 yep, if you’re in the US you should also look into them used! Leap V2 has been manufactured for over a decade now and they’re built well enough that even an older one can hold up very well if taken care of - you can often find them for half price (or less!) at office liquidation sales and that sort of thing.
@@harrisonjr98 . Thank you very much!
I love this chair! its like seating on a cloud!
just ordered mine, hope its all I ever wanted
My job has these and I’ve been trying to figure out the seat depth for forever omg thank you
Glad you're comfy now!
I just got one and I'll agree that It's a good chair
I just received mine today, and I must say it's the most amazing chair ever. Perfect comfort and back support. I love it !!
Got mine today; can confirm, most amazing chair ever!
How is the back support
Kendra Kozak how is the back support. Because I’m between this one or the Logitech one
@@chowder4able Strong; I really love the adjustable lumbar support.
We are glad to hear it was helpful!
Yeah this chair is amazing
very good. Thank you.
thank you
best chair. I tried the Aeron cus it's the most well known top chair, and just not for me. I prefer this design but more importantly once I sat in one I KNEW this was the only chair I needed, for my purposes.
I really miss a forward tilt feature. Can't believe it does not have this.
The official Steelcase distributor in Morocco sells the Leap V2 for nearly 1900 USD !
i got mine a couple days ago, THIS CHAIR IS AMAZING. I had a mesh seat before and it caused a LOT of problems for me. I'm a photographer and pc gamer so I sit a lot. Was just being cheap.
I'd recommend getting leather. It's so smooth and soft. I ordered it blindly. And honestly; was pretty sure I would return it. but I immediately knew it was worth every penny. When i first sat down, Ii started laughing out loud and my face lit up; I couldn't believe how comfy it is.
Just adjusted to the videos specs :D
ps buy it from steelcase or an authorized vendor THIS CHAIR IS PARADISE. IM SITTING ON PARADISE
THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT
We really appreciate the glowing review!
How would you "recommend" getting leather if you didn't compare it against the fabric option?
And buying an $1.5k chair "blindly" sounds pretty weird to me
Hello, I received this chair today. I am still adjusting it. Is the back of my chair meant to tilt even when it is in locked position on the backstop? (It still tilts a lttle bit). Thanks
is this chair lopsided because of the lumbar torque or not
I wish they made the leap with the Gesture arms. That would be the perfect seat.
I just got a new Leap chair as a present. The lower back support is exactly what I needed.
However, the headrest does not fit me well. As an Asian girl, I'm quite petite and the headrest kinds of pushes my head at an uncomfortable point - not relaxing my neck at all. Is there a way I could adjust the headrest to better-fit the curve against my neck?
Want to make this present worthwhile since it's apparently at a high price point!
Is this chair helping to decrease tailbone pain?
can the back height be adjusted?
How easy/difficult is it to clean the seat cushion?
How high are the armrests from the floor? My keyboard tray is 24" from the floor and a lot of chairs I've been looking at have their armrests above that height at even their lowest point so I can't use them properly.
+Carson Siu So sorry that we missed your comment when it came in! The Leap armrests are adjustable from 22" to 31", so maybe it will suit your needs?
The back stops lever and upper back force knob don't seem to be doing anything. The chair just forces my upper back forward awkwardly. Any suggestions.
This is strange, Sally. The back stops should be very obvious, stopping the chair from reclining at various angles. The upper back tension adjusts how much force is required to recline to that back stop setting. It is hard to troubleshoot without an expert looking at it with you, but maybe loosen the back tension all the way and tighten until comfortable? It is also possible the chair could need service if the adjustments aren't working at all. A local dealer (www.steelcase.com/dealers) would be able to help with that.
I've got a second hand leap chair, and I can't tell if it's a v1 or a v2. It has the metallic frame which holds the backrest shaped the same as in v2, but the adjustable lumbar support that v2 is supposed to have isn't there.
My understanding is that V2 has a feature where the arm-rests (the pads) move forward in addition to side-to-side. This was a feature on the Herman Miller Aeron chair that I had to use in my previous job. I like the Leap chair (V1) that I'm using in my current job. At 6'8" it's a better fit.
Michael - herman miller chairs are sized and thus anything less than a C or maybe D prob wont work for you. You are the antithesis of who to buy an expensive used chair from.
I just got a leap chair, but I feel like the fabric is very itchy
My chair is stuck tilted fully back. Any way to fix this?
Is there anyway to lock the armrests (beyond the height)? Overall, I'm enjoying the chair, but the armrests move around constantly. Exerting just mild pressure on them changes their position. I'm not enjoying this aspect of the chair.
There's an option when buying the chair to have only height adjustable armrests vs the 4D arms.
Yes, same here. Very frustrating.
Weight limit?
I got a refurb, but I think some of the parts are broken (the lumbar on the left side not adjusting and the seat height lowers every time I sit on it).
Hi! You can connect with a Steelcase Authorized Dealer for replacement parts for your Leap. You can find one near you at this link: www.steelcase.com/find-us/where-to-buy/dealers/
Really wish the armrest is designed to be longer and could be raised even higher, my only complaint... I prob have strange shoulders and they are a bit stretched even after armrest is raised to the top
Sorry to hear this! Many people have the opposite problem, leaving the armrests up too high while typing, causing shoulder fatigue. www.spine-health.com/wellness/ergonomics/office-chair-choosing-right-ergonomic-office-chair (see the armrests section)
Our latest office chair, Gesture, was designed to support work on mobile devices, so the arms do go quite a bit higher.
Yea, I'll prob get a Gesture as well. Just think this problem could be easily solved in future generations by making both the armrest holder & armrest longer. This is particularly useful for people that play PC games often, when it makes sense to raise armrest almost as high as the desk surface.
Do the arms move all over the place when your elbows are resting on them, or do they lock in place?
They arms move. I just got the chair today, I went from non-moving chairs to this one. I prefer the movement in the arm, its really convenient.
@@alvinchrome8188 Thank you!
It'd be better if you could adjust seat title
I bought the Steelcase Leap chair for home office as I used to like it in my office setting. However, lumbar support is not good as I experience lower back pain in this chair. I have tried the 2 lumbar adjustments the chair offers but it has not helped yet.
How severe is your lower back condition? I have found it very supportive to my back, although I only tried it for shorter time in a showroom.
if you have lower back problems it might bring problems because this is meant for "perfect" posture when sitting. I remember when i got mine 7-8 months ago i had low-mid back problems from it and ppl said it might be just your back being fucked up, but after 2-3weeks it went away and my back became even better in general, this also might be just not your chair, because for me H.M Aeron was really uncomfortable and i had it for a month, yet it's praised as one of the best chairs ever.
I can't get my seat height to move back up. Any suggestions?
This is likely a pneumatic cylinder that needs to be replaced. Please work with a local authorized dealer for this repair, and to look into any warranty options that may apply: www.steelcase.com/dealers
Thanks for your prompt response!
Are the arms rests removable?
+heminder Technically, yes. Are you planning to replace them? Use the chair without them?
@@steelcase the armrest removable on the V1?
I don't like how much play the back rest has even when all settings are at their tightest or firmest. I wish there was a way to lock the back rest without allowing any play or movement.
It's meant to do that.
This chair has actually given me some of the worst back pain I've ever had! Sadly I'll have to sell it and look for another. The lumbar support is ultra aggressive.
Hi. Have u tried removing the adjustable lumbar support?
@@vikramr4593 No, not yet. Is that very difficult to do?
@@therealrockguru It is one of the easiest things to do. pls see this video.czcams.com/video/H8LAwLXPJ_Q/video.html. Please remove the lumbar support and try adjusting the seat depth. This should solve the problem.
@@vikramr4593 Thank you SO much, I am going to try this!
This chair would be great, but I don’t care for the arms. The entire arm can’t adjust in width and there is a weird knob that is placed on the inside of the arm that hits me in my leg. The arch support seemed great, but the arms made this chair a no when I was testing chairs today. I don’t recommend it for folks with hips.
What color seat is shown in that video? Is it the Buzz2 Blue?
This looks to be Cogent Connect Blue Jay (5S21).
@@steelcase has this color been discontinued. On the steelcase website this no longer seems to be an option during customization
Steelcase is the best chair and better than the herman miller
I honestly prefer the leap to the aeron as well
Debatable, but the Aeron is still more popular and stands out a lot more.
just got this for £160 $217 USD
Mirra is better for YOU
I've heard alot of stories that i can confirm now; that the seatpan on the Mirra is great at cutting off circulation and is in general nowhere near as comfortable as a standard high density foam seatpan.
In short mesh is for backs only, NOT seatpans.
It's a real shame too, because everything else on the Mirra is great , especially the recline.
Most people don't know how to set the seat height of Herman Miller chairs correctly.
I had the same problem with the Mirra 2, but once I set the correct height my legs were pain free.
Mirra is better, tested them both
This chair is alright, definitely not worth $1000. I wish the lumbar push out more. The only thing you're really paying for is that the seat padding doesnt give out
Too complicated.
800$ lol nope
This chair is garbage, you can't even tilt it or have the recline locked at a different angle. For the price tag, not worth it.
Not a single high end office chair has a tilt lock mechanism, maybe if you knew why you wouldn't post this shit comment.
Yes the lack of a tilt lock at this price point is surprising!
The 3 days production time and 5 days to ship over is just too much. I suggest Steelcase make it so the chairs are available right away.
900$? No thanks..
Cheaper than paying doctors to fix your back.
@@umartdagnir plenty of amazing office chairs out there that are great for youre back, posture, ass, etc) for.less than $500...
@@d3tach3d no there really isnt lol
@@d3tach3d You're talking nonsense.
@@StardustLegacyFighter yeah, maybe. It relative to how much your sitting in a chair. Id agree if you sat in an office chair 8 hours a day 40-50hrs a week, if this chair is a godsend to your back health than $900 would be a no brainer. The thing is, I dont sit more than 2 hours a day in an office chair so my $250 dollar full back Mesh chair has been working great for 5+ years with no discomfort. Sometimes ill just use my the 70s Navy Aluminum Chow Hall Chair my grandfather gave me and sit with the proper posture. One thing A notice in a lot of these Chair reviews and comment sections its nobody talks about how extremely important physical fitness and posture is over these all these chairs themselves. If youre weak, out of shape, skinny, overweight, etc) no chair is going to help or prevent potential health issues. Id rather sit on my hard ass aluminum chair over a sedentary lifestyle and sitting in one of these chairs, thats a hyperbolic answer. Im sure staying fit and this would be nice. I just dont need a $1000 chair id barely sit in.
Oh look no price tag or seller anywhere; this chair may as well be vaporware.
Not a marketing video you idiot.
@@StardustLegacyFighter What good is marketing something nobody can buy?
lol 900$ chair
Beats buying a 600 dollar chair that only lasts 3 years and has half the adjust-ability.
