I sell my artwork on Etsy, and made some packaging videos. I LOVE seeing how other artist's package their work, I love how everyone has their own version! This felt like such a treat to watch. Your work is so lovely.
I literally just watched your video! :D
You could make small original bookmarks on those scraps, and sell them as a one off.
Those scraps wound be perfect bookmarks
You could make bookmarks with the cutoffs, or little badges or small token artworks in the packaging.
That was so super helpful, thank you so so much for making this video!!
You should make bookmarks with the excess paper :)
Man, that's a great tip for asking about the cut-out space at framing places! I'll have to hit up a couple of spots near me and see if they have scraps for sale, because I worry about my poor little babies when I send them out into the world without a big, warm, backing board hug. Even in reinforced envelopes.
Hi, 2015 Madame Auclair! Thanks for your tips! I'm sure you've found and shared more since this!
can you make a video on how you print your art? like, how you know which size it is going to end like or which paper? i love your art, you are so inspiring
+Joaquin Mondini and actually i have another question xd
how do you make more print of something that you'd drawn in the traditional way?
+Joaquin Mondini You use a scanner.
Hey Audra! I'd love it if you done a video on your freelance life, how you make money, who your customers are and so on. I'm having another whack at making money off my art and I'd love some insight into how you do it. Thank you so much
Loving the fact that there is a sailor moon wand in the background. So much awesome! 👍 thanks for sharing
I'm actually learning how to package my own art so this was super helpful! I appreciate you taking the time to do this. Beautiful art too!
Hey, Audra! Saw that you needed n idea for those leftover scraps, I recommend doing your original artwork as bookmarks. Personally LOVE to read and would honestly buy one. Just a little idea from one artist to another. ❤️ Love your work!
I ❤❤ this video....super helpful for me as I'm just beginning to start selling my watercolor art on Etsy.
The leftover boards....you can turn them into bookmarks, add a ribbon or tassle on the end :)
Your art is gorgeous!.
hey i use these really cool envelopes that have a clear window in the front and i just find its a nice surprise in the mail that just screams ahh theres art in my mail (i believe they are originally marketed towards actors for sending headshots but i just think there really cool)
you could use a moist sponge instead of licking the envelope
Your mini-art business card comment made me laugh because I have in fact framed people's business cards before because they were so beautiful lol.
Beautiful art and thank you for the shipping advice/tutorial
super helpful :D thank you! I've just started doing commissions of custom portraits and wasn't sure how to package them this has helped a lot
I love how you do it cos I actually need to make a ton of the backboards and have more envelopes for a pop up. And it wasn't really practical to make cardboard mailers for them all. Thanks alot! :)
Yes! I was thinking the same- a painted bookmark!
I am so glad I found your channel last week! Thanks so much for sharing this, I'm excited to keep learning from you :) x, Paige
Me to!!
Paige Poppe Yaaay thank you! I love your art! I'd like to try my hand at skateboard painting someday.
Of course! And ahh thank you so much!! You definitely should, its addicting!
You could use the scraps to doodle on and tape into your sketchbooks or you could make then into cute little bookmarks. :3
Loved the video. Extremely helpful!!! Keep the wonders coming!
If they're big enough, you could buy a clear case for your phone and use those scraps as a case (trace your phone onto the scrap, and then draw your design, and place them behind the clear case!), or you could make little pencil covers (idk, I do this often... I'm weird and I like to do weird decorating things) Pencil covers are covers you design so that it can go over the boring old wooden pencil. You just roll the paper to fit over the pencil, and draw a design on the paper. Then, you can tape or glue it and place your pencil in it so your pencil can have your very own design. If you want to go the normal way, you can make a bookmark too XD
Thanks, Audra. Really filled in some gaps for me. Bright blessings.
That custom made stamp is so cute! *runs frantically to buy one.*
Do you scan and print your own prints?
Sorry if you did already state that in the video.
Jasmyn Good Yep!
Beautiful... 😊 🌷,
I have questions?!
1- what type of printer you are using.
2- what paper your using to print on.
3- can you do vlog how you do your artwork with printing and scanning.
Thanks... 😊 🌷
It's nice how much thought you put into your art :)
i love how you obsessively try to keep realigning everything you hold hehehe thanks for this video!!
This was so interesting thank you!!
yay thanks for this video! I'm selling my first ever 5x7 prints and didn't know how to package
With the little strips of board you could sell strips of stickers and use them for packaging.
Beautiful packaging, I would suggest that you put recipients address on the envelope before putting your print inside, this will prevent any damage to the print if writing is slightly heavy.
you should try maybe shrink wrapping the prints so they fit better in the bags and you can shrink wrap all sizes so you wont have to get different sized bags! :)
Thank you so much! These videos were so helpful!
what paper / printer do you use for your prints? where do you get them??
I loooove her arm tattoos omg
You might be able to make book marks and add a hole on the tops of your scrap paper where you can loop a ribbon.
You could make water color or ink sketches on the extra skinny boards you cut off.
Thank you for this, I am planning on opening my traditional commissions but I do not have any idea how to ship them
They would make great bookmarks.
Make little bookmarks out of those scrap pieces
that's what i thought as well! its gonna look super cute!
I saw your work it was so beautiful. Just wondering where you post your work. OMG I'm pretty much your fan now (*___*)
This might be a different topic but can you recommend which printer you use for your scanning or printing job??
you should do little art cards out of the scraps to send with your prints. Maybe even hand drawn ones so its like and etrxa goodie that your customer wasnt expecting; presonally I love finding little extras when I order something.
Thanks for such a helpful video! I was wondering what a3 scanner might you use/ recommend? 😮
You can use the scraps to make bookmarks with your art.
I'm a new artist, and I'm still learning all the stuff. Thank you for this video; it was so helpful! I did want to ask if you stamp and sign on the back. Does it show through in the sunlight or at all?
Excellent video! Oh my God you should teach or make some art videos and sell them. About other people using you art and profiting from them I think is wrong. Your art is very good! I would buy any tutorials you make!!
also, can you make a video of a starter pack of materials you need or recommend for getting started on shipping your artwork?
Very nice video, great tips! Thank you :D
you can make bookmarks out of those leftover mattboard! i mean they're really on the right size
With those scraps, you can paint on them and make them into book marks!
U can make them into like little arts, like if u have like a certain amount of these card but different designs, u can have a free bonus or smthing
Have you thought about using adhesive spray to seal the envelope instead of using tape? Kind of the same consistency as the adhesive on envelopes with glue on them
You could make the scraps into painted bookmarks 😊
Thank you so much. This helped A LOT.
draw on them and make them into bookmarks!
Extremely helpful video!!🖒
Those bits would be good bookmarks or you can glue several on poster board and paint on top for an interesting texture and look...
Hey I have an idea for the scraps for the thin and long pieces make bookmarks out of them! :)
That's rlly helpful , thx 💚💚
This is really helpful. Thanks.
bookmarks I think the pieces will be great for custom bookmarks.
Not sure if you will see this post but I found your video super helpful! I will hopefully be selling my art soon and couldn't find any useful information about packaging until I came across your videos so thank you so much! I wonder though what type of shipping method you use and what not. I've read about insuring your artwork, do you do that? My pieces will be between $100 to $200. Also is there anything else you do to your pieces when you drop them off at your carrier? Do they reinforce them in any way or send them a certain way so they don't get bent or ruined?
Thank you for your help if you see this!
I'm going to ask a dumb question which is - why does your stamp say "Jenna Lee" but your channel/brand says Audra Auclair?
Jennifer K she changed her name
you could do custom book marks with those scraps
good info, thank you.
with the scraps you should make decorative bookmarks and send them with your prints
Try Scotch packing tape and printing address labels, both will save you time and your fingers.
Hello! You can use the extra mat board for book marks with your art on it. What do you think?
The scraps would be good if u do art on bookmarks and mail them 😍😍❤️
You can make book marks with the straps
Great video, thanks. What music was in the background? It was so relaxing :)
Thanks for sharing! :-)
thank you for sharing!!
make bookmarks out of those scraps to sell or another fun thing to put in packages
Hi, just wondering what happens when an original is destroyed through the shipping process? What do you do after that ?
You can make the extra paper into bookmarks
is it okay to use corrugated cardboard in place for mat board? I can't find these mat boards from where I live.
You could make bookmarks with the piece you trimmed off
When you ship out your prints, do you use your actual address or a P.O Box? Im afraid to use my actual address when shipping prints
This is late but you could make bookmarks out of those scraps!
Hi, how would do u get the drawings to be thick like that, do u have to scan drawings to computer and then what do u do to get the paper thick? Is it cartridge paper?
hope to start selling art prints. thanks for the info!
