It was well worth the money for me.

I don't have it myself, but Skyrim: Legendary Edition came with a statue of Alduin and a word wall, which the Alduin statue could sit on top of if you wanted it to. And of course, there's also the Halo 3 Limited Edition that came with the Master Chief helmet.
I got the day 1 collector's edition on 11/11/2011, lol. It didn't come with the wall, but it came with the Alduin and a really pretty concept art book. Very cool.

I really only spring on them for games I am already a superfan for or somehow get lucky and find one for cheap. I waited for almost 2 years for the Collectors Edition of God Of War (it has a couple less items than the stone mason version in the video) to go on clearance and I picked it up for about $40, the Kratos & Atreus statue made it absolutely worth that price. The main problem is really popular games you almost exclusively have to preorder as productions are usually quite low and resellers buy them up to make a profit since almost all sell out.
@D. Have you heard of Limited Run? Because their collectors editions are nowhere near the prices quoted here, and I'd say they're worth the difference from a standard game. Mostly, it's artbooks, steelbooks, soundtracks and posters, but going from $30 to $60 is a lot easier than $60 to $120. I don't really want any 12" figures in the first place, just junk that's going to lie around. I think they've hit on the right mix of items that people might actually use.

It came with a full sized Artbook containing commentary from the art team, a Compendium that contains a lot of the post Conjunction of Spheres history of the world, a small reference book that contains excerpts on all of the major players in the game, the Collector's Edition game guide, a School of the Wolf medallion, an awesome statue of Geralt fighting a griffon, and it all came in a box signed by the entire dev team with a little thank you note. It retailed for $150 and now goes for +$700

Athene was fairly nice for a virgin, but she still fucked up Arachne pretty bad (not that Arachne didn't deserve it). Among the more well known gods, there isn't one that wasn't an asshole at one point or another. I suppose you could dig into the second or third tier and find some that were humble, but any of the actual Olympians were pretty prickley.
I always buy Megami Tensei collector's editions. They're sort of my "treat yourself" items, and one of my favorites is probably the Showtime Premium Edition for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. I was already getting an awesome game and one of the last physical 3DS games ever built, the but edition also came with a deck of cards, a pin set, an artbook, and oh yeah, a KORORMARU PLUSHIE! The bestest happiest doggo in all of gaming and thanks to that edition I now have him in mini-plush form. It's pretty rad.
I always thought most of the Halo collector's editions were some of the best ever made, they always had really cool pack-ins and statues and things that were definitely worthwhile for die-hard fans
I got the Collectors edition of the last of us part 2 and I really liked what it came with. I think Naughty Dog put more work in the collector's edition than the actual games story.

I don't have any overly expensive collector's edition because money, but my favorite of the ones I own is definitely xenoblade chronicles hd, it comes with a stunning artbook, a steelbook with the 2 titans, a digital soundtrack download code and a vinyl with a monado print on it

Honestly, I'd prefer if CE's go down in value after you buy them. That way more people get to buy them & enjoy them. I'm a collector enjoys the games & collectibles items themselves & not in it for the monetary value in hopes that they go up in price so I can make money.

I don’t think he should. If you’ve seen the video he made for his Persona 5 Completion, he spent YEARS trying to beat it with all of the confidant route endings. He’s said it nearly broke him. The moments you revealed the original price & its current price, I legitimately couldn't tell if it was a bit when you got excited about the ones worth way more than what you paid. I think it's interesting to see the difference but I don't get anything out of knowing my collector stuff is worth more than it was. But, if you do, that's very intriguing to me. I've never once considered that a reason to collect games
inyrui well they said in some interviews that they’re going with the more serious tone similar to 2 and 3 but keeping core gameplay like gunplay and traversal from 4 and 5 since those were better optimized than 3. It really seems like they’re trying to make one for the fans this time with all the trial and errors through previous games. Let’s hope it’s the best or equal to 3

The MGS V, Fallout 4 and Wolfenstein new colossus are amongst my faves. It's so cool to have such crazy collectors editions out there. Remember when we all used to get excited when a ps one game came with memory card stickers lol.

One of my fav collectors editions was infamous 2 hero edition. Came with the same satchel that Cole uses in game and a sick statue of Cole as well. I used the pack throughout highschool actually. Wish i hadn't but I loved it so much!
I love the Collector’s Editions for the first four Jak and Daxter games for the PS4 (released by Limited Run Games). They each featured a mini-figure (like the Daxtermobile for Jak X), a poster, an art book, and their official soundtracks. As a huge Jak and Daxter fan, they filled me with glee.
My two favorites are the Dishonored 2 and Skyrim. Corvo's mask and the signet ring make for great display pieces, as does Alduin on the draconic word wall. I even managed to get the Skyrim special edition for surprisingly cheap because I was gifted Skyrim for the wrong platform and had to go return it, where I found a much cheaper post-Christmas copy of the special edition.
One of the only collector editions that I have ever gotten was the Odin Sphere Leifthrasir: Storybook Edition. Came with art print, art book, and a shirt that I still wear to this day.
I got the Anthology box set of Elder Scrolls for PC. It had the hidden bonus of including a free upgrade of Skyrim to Special Edition, because I bought it before the announcement of said SE. It came with maps for all five complete games in the box.
I have the AC 3 collectors edition too ! It wasn't available in South Africa, so I got a friend in Canada to buy and ship it to me. I wore the buckle until it broke, and the statue still lurks next to Alduin and Kratos above the TVs in my parents house
I still have my Star Fox Adventures survival kit with the bottle of green apple soda I never drank, the roll of game tips toilet paper I never wiped with, and the "Do not disturb - Adventure in Progress" sign I totally had on my door for a decade.
I've only gotten two collectors editions in my life. The Epic Mickey one, with the Mickey figure. $10, and a clearanced, sealed copy of some Senran Kagura game. Was looking for something to buy, and I'm a sucker for things on sale. Went to pay for it, he took the case, and came back with a sealed, collectors edition. It's nothing major, just two music CD's, a holographic box, and DLC. But it was super cheap, so I'm pretty happy I grabbed it.
If the We Happy Few Time Capsule came with the game, I bet it would be on the list! - Physical mask model - Lore book - Alarm clock that reminds you to take your Joy - Posters and stickers - Miniature light-up street sign - A working vinyl disc with the game's score!
I've got that Connor statue and Washington's diary. Gutted I missed out on the buckle and flag. They would have made sweet additions to my collection of AC items. Perhaps one day I'll spot them online at a price I can afford.
I'm typing before watching the video. Arkham Origins on PS3 has an outstanding collector's edition. You get a great Joker statue, a hardcover art book, a tiny map of Gotham, a folder containing various files and photos, physical evidence pieces, and a Blu Ray copy of the documentary Necessary Evil. Definitely my favorite.
I worked at the company that did the bulk of Nintendo's printing several years ago (before it sadly shut down) and remember getting to see those Hyrule maps for BotW coming off the presses. Was pretty neat

I always buy Megami Tensei collector's editions. They're sort of my "treat yourself" items, and one of my favorites is probably the Showtime Premium Edition for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. I was already getting an awesome game and one of the last physical 3DS games ever built, the but edition also came with a deck of cards, a pin set, an artbook, and oh yeah, a KORORMARU PLUSHIE! The bestest happiest doggo in all of gaming and thanks to that edition I now have him in mini-plush form. It's pretty rad.
I always thought most of the Halo collector's editions were some of the best ever made, they always had really cool pack-ins and statues and things that were definitely worthwhile for die-hard fans
I got the Collectors edition of the last of us part 2 and I really liked what it came with. I think Naughty Dog put more work in the collector's edition than the actual games story.
I'm surprised he didn't mention the secret in the God of War map. With all his cuts to the infinity eggs you figure he'd talk about the infinity gauntlet hidden within. Still a great list. :)

Personally, my favorite collector’s edition of all time still has to be Fallout New Vegas. That deck of caravan cards alone would be enough to justify its place at #1 for me.

I don't have any overly expensive collector's edition because money, but my favorite of the ones I own is definitely xenoblade chronicles hd, it comes with a stunning artbook, a steelbook with the 2 titans, a digital soundtrack download code and a vinyl with a monado print on it
My favorite collector edition was Infamous: Second Son. You got DUP patches, buttons, and Delsin's beanie.
I didn't get that one but I had the InFamous 2 one that gave you Cole's backpack, it was pretty sweet. Man I really want them to make another InFamous game.

I haven't had many but I loved, still love, and have shown off more than once... The Fable 3 collectors edition. The case being a book with a (barely) hidden compartment with goodies stored inside was just my favorite thing.
The horizon zero dawn collectors edition statue is also beautifully detailed

Honestly, I'd prefer if CE's go down in value after you buy them. That way more people get to buy them & enjoy them. I'm a collector enjoys the games & collectibles items themselves & not in it for the monetary value in hopes that they go up in price so I can make money.

For me, the moat beautiful collector's edition statue I own is the one from Mirror's Edge Catalyst. I just love the design. Also the statue with lighting from The Division.

What do you mean by trophy related themes?

For Persona 5 Royal, one can earn all of these but only if they platinum the game before the promotion ends. But it's unknown when that will be and it's only for certain areas at the moment.

I don’t think he should. If you’ve seen the video he made for his Persona 5 Completion, he spent YEARS trying to beat it with all of the confidant route endings. He’s said it nearly broke him. I think after what he went through with that, he’ll probably wait some more time before going through it. (I also didn't know about the theme reward thing. Kinda cool tbh)

Really liked this top 10. The moments you revealed the original price & its current price, I legitimately couldn't tell if it was a bit when you got excited about the ones worth way more than what you paid. I think it's interesting to see the difference but I don't get anything out of knowing my collector stuff is worth more than it was. But, if you do, that's very intriguing to me. I've never once considered that a reason to collect games

inyrui well they said in some interviews that they’re going with the more serious tone similar to 2 and 3 but keeping core gameplay like gunplay and traversal from 4 and 5 since those were better optimized than 3. It really seems like they’re trying to make one for the fans this time with all the trial and errors through previous games. Let’s hope it’s the best or equal to 3

The MGS V, Fallout 4 and Wolfenstein new colossus are amongst my faves. It's so cool to have such crazy collectors editions out there. Remember when we all used to get excited when a ps one game came with memory card stickers lol.

One of my fav collectors editions was infamous 2 hero edition. Came with the same satchel that Cole uses in game and a sick statue of Cole as well. I used the pack throughout highschool actually. Wish i hadn't but I loved it so much!
I love the Collector’s Editions for the first four Jak and Daxter games for the PS4 (released by Limited Run Games). They each featured a mini-figure (like the Daxtermobile for Jak X), a poster, an art book, and their official soundtracks. As a huge Jak and Daxter fan, they filled me with glee.

My two favorites are the Dishonored 2 and Skyrim. Corvo's mask and the signet ring make for great display pieces, as does Alduin on the draconic word wall. I even managed to get the Skyrim special edition for surprisingly cheap because I was gifted Skyrim for the wrong platform and had to go return it, where I found a much cheaper post-Christmas copy of the special edition.

One of the only collector editions that I have ever gotten was the Odin Sphere Leifthrasir: Storybook Edition. Came with art print, art book, and a shirt that I still wear to this day.

I got the Anthology box set of Elder Scrolls for PC. It had the hidden bonus of including a free upgrade of Skyrim to Special Edition, because I bought it before the announcement of said SE. It came with maps for all five complete games in the box.

I have the AC 3 collectors edition too ! It wasn't available in South Africa, so I got a friend in Canada to buy and ship it to me. I wore the buckle until it broke, and the statue still lurks next to Alduin and Kratos above the TVs in my parents house
I still have my Star Fox Adventures survival kit with the bottle of green apple soda I never drank, the roll of game tips toilet paper I never wiped with, and the "Do not disturb - Adventure in Progress" sign I totally had on my door for a decade.
I've only gotten two collectors editions in my life. The Epic Mickey one, with the Mickey figure. $10, and a clearanced, sealed copy of some Senran Kagura game.
Was looking for something to buy, and I'm a sucker for things on sale. Went to pay for it, he took the case, and came back with a sealed, collectors edition.
It's nothing major, just two music CD's, a holographic box, and DLC. But it was super cheap, so I'm pretty happy I grabbed it.
If the We Happy Few Time Capsule came with the game, I bet it would be on the list!

I've got that Connor statue and Washington's diary. Gutted I missed out on the buckle and flag. They would have made sweet additions to my collection of AC items. Perhaps one day I'll spot them online at a price I can afford.
I'm typing before watching the video. Arkham Origins on PS3 has an outstanding collector's edition. You get a great Joker statue, a hardcover art book, a tiny map of Gotham, a folder containing various files and photos, physical evidence pieces, and a Blu Ray copy of the documentary Necessary Evil. Definitely my favorite.
I worked at the company that did the bulk of Nintendo's printing several years ago (before it sadly shut down) and remember getting to see those Hyrule maps for BotW coming off the presses. Was pretty neat
