    How well does this pack handle weight? What is the most weight you feel comfortable using this pack with?

    At first glance, I would have preferred deeper side pockets and at pocket on the front that you could fit a water bottle in, but thanks for the first look vid

      You could always attach your own front pockets if it’s such a necessity to you :)

    I'm looking for a new bag and i'm finding hard to find the perfect one. A bottle pocket on the front strap would habe been ideal, also the side pockets look a little baggy? not sure about the chest trap.

      Overall, this pack stands out with its remarkable load carrying capability, sleek design, and lightweight construction. Despite the initial impression of loose side pockets, they actually proved quite secure in our testing. Even a 1.5L Nalgene bottle stayed in place without any worries. Additionally, these pockets offer handy storage for quick-access items like a waterproof jacket, enhancing the pack's versatility. It's a top-tier choice for outdoor adventurers seeking both reliability and practicality.

    Love the harness and many of the features but I wish it was waterproof like many of the American packs.

      Returning mine for this reason too. Pocket is way too big, way too stretchy but yet way too shallow to hold a bottle in! Such a shame!!

      i tuck the bottle under the compression strap rope thingy inside the side pocket. Everything stays well in place. I think itś one of the reasons why it runs through the pocket

    Would you need a rain cover for this pack? Or is it water resistant enough to only need a liner on the inside? Thanks!

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  Před 4 měsíci

      I think a liner would work better with this pack due to its shape. It have some water resistance but in heavy rain you would want to protect your kit further

      They are shallow yes, but i was testing this exact backpack over weekend and had 1l Nalgene bottle in one side pocket and standard 2l bottle in the other. Nothing felt off, even when I bent down to tie my shoelaces.

    Combined with this fever/trend of "everything needs to be ultralight" that invades the outdoor world nowadays, there is a massive lack of quality and everything super overpriced.

  • @grimlightwildoutdoors
    @grimlightwildoutdoors Před 4 měsíci +1

    Nah side pockets badly designed this should never of passed testing stage you will lose gear out of these pockets easy also the shape is small and compressed which won’t spread weight well either as not spreading the weight across the full back area. The front sternum cord is badly designed in cold /bad weather when hands are suffering these will be a nightmare to fasten no need to re-invent the wheel here considering Lowe alpine are also part of rab why didn’t they listen to a company with a proven track record in the back pack sector ?

    • @LagoDosSantos

      Rather bold considering you’ve never tested it.

    • @grimlightwildoutdoors
      @grimlightwildoutdoors Před 4 měsíci +3

      @@LagoDosSantos you can clearly see the side pockets are not holding the water bottles well and the sternum strap in winter no chance with cold hands I’ve had and used enough packs over the last 30 years to be able to spot obvious issues it’s not rocket science 👍

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  Před 4 měsíci

      Thank you for sharing your insights! In our testing, we found the side pockets to be shallow, but surprisingly accommodating. We didn't encounter any issues even after extended use, and they proved handy for storing additional gear. However, I agree with your observation about the chest strap; it can be quite fiddly, especially in more extreme winter conditions.

    • @LagoDosSantos
      @LagoDosSantos Před 4 měsíci

      @@grimlightwildoutdoorsfair enough, but, if you use an ultralight weight pack you are most likely aware of the compromises that come with it. Cold hands are a user issue, the same applies to packing solutions in my opinion. At the end of the day, you choose the right pack for the job.

      A dry bag liner would work well with this pack. It doesn't include a rain cover and maybe an odd shape to fit one to.
