Whoops! We made a mistake. In the video, at 6:44, we said that by the end of the War of Independence, "Israel had lost 10% of its population in the fighting". We had meant to say that the number is closer to 1% of the total population. Big thanks to our community for catching the mistake.

2:09: they didn't reject it because they refused "Jewish state on any land", they refused because a huge chunk of Palestine was taken away from them and given to the Jews, who were foreigners at that time.
Until when are you gonna finally realise that Palestinians had genuine protests against takeover of their land? Why are you always so keen to show that they "simply reject Jewish state"? Of course I sympathize with the Jewish plight, and to not have others massacre them..especially gentile Europeans and Muslims who are really their only enemies. You do not see cultures other than those of the successors of Judaism, the two larger monotheisms, oppressing or hating Jews. It's not like the Japanese or Ecuadorians had any close contact with Jews..the real root of anti-semitism stems from European & Islamic discrimination against the minority sect and populace that constitutes Judaism and Jews. My only question is, why does their Zionist nationalism have to be at the expense of fellow Semitic Palestinians? The problem of British colonialism and Islamic expansionism are kind of problematic in this equation, don't you think? They don't help offer a balanced view and solution towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their relation as a whole.

Ok I see you’re not interested in nuance. Just some question for you-
      1) which Western powers helped the Jewish state? Did you know there was a US arms embargo on Israel?
      2) Why didn’t the Arabs accept a globally-supported plan to share the land in 1947…? Or a British plan to share the land in 1937? Why instead start wars?
      3) What do you mean when you say “forced off the land”? Like their tents/homes, or are you claiming all of the land belonged to them? Because the latter is just not true - it was British land, and before that Ottoman land, and before that other colonial conquering empires- all the way back to when it was the Jewish land of Israel :) You can learn more here: czcams.com/video/0BasXaiHiiI/video.htmlsi=TtUMkW1ai_bMmI9E
      4) Did you know that the majority of Jews in Israel are actually most recently from Muslim lands (from which they were cleansed)? And did you know that many of the Jews most recently from Europe in 1948 were literally survivors of the Holocaust - which means they had nowhere to go, and weren’t going to just be pushed into the sea by the Arab states.
      5) Did you know that 150,000 Arabs didn’t leave/weren’t pushed off, and remained into what became Israel? They now number 2million Israeli Arabs, full citizens of Israel! Guess how many Palestinians who left became equal citizens of any Arab country where they remained as refugees…? And guess how many Jews were allowed to remain in lands conquered by Arab countries or in any neighboring Arab countries? You can learn more here: czcams.com/video/Y4NjZBD9fW4/video.htmlsi=fB8nFkC4gziHuaWr

Look, i'm jewish. But it's stupid to call people defending their homeland from foreign powers slicing up their territory and giving it away "terrorists". Zionism necessitates conquering land claimed by the peoples already living there. The debate isn't whether that is or isn't what it is, but whether that's justifiable. From a religious and historical perspective you can make the case that it is, but resorting to calling the other side terrorists is mind numbing.

    • @sunshine6522
      @sunshine6522 Před 2 lety

Anyone who targets and murders civilians on purpose is a terrorist, regardless of what cause they are fighting for. the Arab side waged a genocidal war against the Jews- and massacred as many innocent Jewish men, women, and children as they could.
And besides- Israel is the ancient Jewish homeland- and already had 600,000 Jews living there in 1948. Israel consists of .1%( one-tenth of one percent) of the middle-east landmass, under the partition plan 50% of it would've gone to the Arabs. leaving the Jews with one-twentieth of one- percent of the middle east- and all Arabs living inside of it(40% of the population) as equal citizens... sounds like a steal of a deal to me.
The Arab side rejected the partition plan and waged war, and as we all know- war carries some unpleasant consequences for the loser.
And btw- you're making a terrible mistake by abandoning your Jewish identity. being Anti-Zionist might be cool and hype at the moment- and might help you fit into secular society, but it will turn out disastrous in the future when your gentile "friends" turn on you and throw you to the dogs as they've always done in the end for the past 2000 years. and then- after you've done so much to damage and undermine the only Jewish sanctuary on earth- you'll have nowhere left to run.

2:42 Its not unfounded why the Arabs revolted. How is it that some foreign legislative body gets to dictate the boundaries of a land that’s already occupied? That’s literally called colonization. How does Israel look now? Highly segregated still…
It would’ve made more sense and been more respectful to ask Palestine for the partition rather than the British who were already a colonizing power in the Middle East at the time. Not to mention that asking an already oppressive imperial power to forcibly create a state and partition in an already existing state is literally begging for war.

Pan-Arab nationalists are the colonisers, try again. All countries in the Middle East had their boundaries dictated by foreign legislative bodies after the fall of the Ottoman Empire and only one of these is today a Jewish state, the rest are Muslim theocracies. It's weird which one people are now spinning a colonisation narrative about when you consider how much land each has and how minority demographics are treated in each. Jews refuse to go back to Dhimmitude and we see what's happening to our Kurdish brothers for their shared audacity in pursuing self-determination: DARVO is the name of the game.

The United States should end military aid to Israel.
    1. Israel can pay for its own military. Israel has a strong economy, an excellent international credit rating, and runs frequent budget surplus. Israel ran an annual surplus of more than a billion dollars six out of the last ten years.
    2. Military aid to Israel is a security risk. Israel is a major supplier of military technology to China. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of the Chinese military. Israel developed the Lavi fighter from American technology with 1.5 billion in American subsidies. Israel sold the Lavi fighter to China. It is now called the J-10 and is the mainstay of the Chinese Air Force. Israel has also sold China missile guidance systems,, advanced radar systems and targeting systems.
    3. Israel is a diplomatic liability.
    4. Military aid to Israel is illegal under the Leahy Law because of Israel's human rights violations. Any aid to Israel is illegal under the Symington amendment which prohibits aid to nations with nuclear weapons that have not signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and do not permit inspections of their nuclear sites

The two state solution seems unachievable on these days due to reasons
Israelis govt doesn’t want too but wants to settle more lands to old Judean lands or nowadays West Bank.
And on the other side Palestinians like hamas want to take the whole land not even 1% left for Jews so the situation will continue.
You add that Islam teaches and encourages Muslims to hold this land while Jews historically were living in there thousands of years ago who see these land as their god given lands.

Much of the problems was caused by the British by giving Palastinian's land to the Jewish, creating displacement of Palastinian's. However if the Arab's decided to be good civilians and good neighbours there would not be a problem, the Jews and Muslims share much in traditions as they used the same bible. Yes there is differences but too few to mention. Shouldn't the basis of any friendships or future agreements peace or anything or negotiations start with what the two religion's share and try and build trust? This might involve being good neighbours on both sides and taking down borders and sharing religious traditions, this one could be awkward because this is not usually shared it would feel different from both sides. A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet. As we have seen Israel and Turkey are friends and does work, why can't this work closer to home ie Palastinian. Both sides shouldn't feel afraid of the other, this is no way to progress for either side.

Denis Morgan - The British never gave any land to the Jews at all. If you are referring to the Balfour Declaration, then you should know that it was a bogus document aimed at beguiling the Jews into believing that Great Britain really wanted to see the establishment of a Jewish State in its current location in exchange for the Jewish people's support during World War One. That is, the British Foreign Secretary erroneously believed that the Jews had unprecedented influence over their respective countries' governments, and by promising the Jews an independent State of their own, the Jews in turn would help convince their respective governments around the world to remain in the war against Germany until Germany's final defeat. In reality, though, Great Britain had no intention of ever honoring the Balfour Declaration.
There has never been a time in the past 3,000 years when Jews did not live in the land that now constitutes the State of Israel. Moreover, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries Jews purchased large tracks of land from Arab landowners in the region, and once you sell some land it is not yours anymore. The remaining parts of Israel were allotted to the Jews by a majority vote at the U.N. General Assembly in November 1947, or were taken in war when the Arabs tried to eradicate the State of Israel; thus the spoils of war!
