Compare it to VIOFO A129 Pro Duo 4K,
THINKWARE U1000 4K and Blackvue DR900S-2CH 4K. Which one do u think is the best? Does this A800 has advanced buffering parking mode? time lapse configuration? Motion detection activated parking mode? Is it extreme heat resistant? Does it have Filter available to avoid dashboard reflection? How is the reliablitiy of it's battery?

Can you explant, why it build 2 front video 1 front's and 1 front, if I set 3840 X 2160 the front video can not play.
I'm not too understand your question. It only has 2 cameras that record front and rear.
Record in 4K not playable on your smartphone? Probably because of the incompatible codec. Look for H.265 codec player for your device.
Do u have a video of the front only, fully in 4k? Read in the specs that if include the rear cam, the resolution for the front will be 2560*1600 only.

I have 2 questions regarding things that annoy me with my Pro and if they are fixed for the A800:
1. When u flag a situation by clicking the button while driving, will it record/save from that point or also save the, for example, 30sec before?
2. In parking mode, will it start recording from the moment of an impact or constantly monitor and also save the, again for example, 30 seconds before the trigger point?
1. It will only save upon you press the record button
2. Same as above, it will only trigger the recording after the impact/collision
@@imjoshuawong Isn't it just too late? Are there any cams with real time recording and some memory to the past, ideally several days or so? Without that I cannot see any point in buying and installing it 😞.
@@racingsportscars7023 the loop record would capture about 3 to 5 hours depending on your memory card size. If you are involved in an accident *touch wood*, I recommend you retrieve the footage immediately through your phone or stop the recording after 10 minutes of the accident.
@@imjoshuawong That is nice, as long as the driver is not somehow disabled after the accident. But I also thought of another, and way more probably, use: When the car is parked and somebody damages that (other car, or intentional vandalism). I can find it out much later than in 5 hours since it had happened. Is it possible to store the records automatically somewhere on web, to be able to retrieve videos from much longer period of time? Or if the car was stolen, I would not have access to it at all, but I would like to view the recorded video which had been made before the car was accessed by a robber. Can you get my point, my main motivation I would think of having some cam like this? Can you suggest any other front-rear cam solution, which would store the data in the cloud or so, for several days, or for the sufficient time span I could set myself?
@Racing Sports Cars the A800/A800s support parking mode where it would start to record when there are impact to your vehicle. Once you enter your car, it will notify you there's a recording made. Hardwire is required for this feature to function. Still, there are some flaws like it would only be activated with certain impacts or sensitivity. Key scratching,I don't think it will be able to pick up.
Interested to know more on the installation. Rear camera just need to connect one cable to the front unit? Where does the rear get the power from?
The AV/ in cable provide data and power. So all you need just 1 cable to enable the rear camera
can this be used as a rear parking camera and can we view live rear footage while driving ( like driver rear view monitor function of touchscreen infotainment systems).....i want to purchase a lower variant of car without rear parking camera...can this dash cam do both ?
Yes you can, but do expect delays if you are previewing it from your tablet/smartphone
Hello, I bought the A800 camera along with the rear camera + kit, and I can't get the two cameras to record at the same time, as seen in the video you posted, is that they have some special configuration? could you help me please.
Record together? As in videos (front and rear) lapping on the video? Sorry, it was edited to show to video together.
It should record both concurrently on a different folder. You may want to check the recorded footage in your memory card.
Can it record 1600p or 1440p in 60fps?
When in surveillance mode, is the rear cam also recording like the Picture In Picture video sample?
It will record concurrently. The video will not be in PiP as it was just edited with a computer. You will able to access two folder, front and rear footages. Hope this clarified
Can you please advise how to calibrate the ADAS function properly? I have been following all the on screen instructions but the calibration fails all the time.
Make sure you install it at the same level of your rear view mirror. Update to the latest firmware, it should works

You are absolutely right, when in dual recording, the front camera only record in 2K and rear at Full HD. The AV/IN cable length is about 6 meters long
@@imjoshuawong Hi, what about a possible firmware upgrade that allegedly makes the front record at 4K even with the back one recording too? (was mentioned in a comment by another reviewer post video upload as a reply from the manufacturer)
Near the end of the video some skipping in the recording can be seen, what is the reason for it - the hardware, card issues or post production? Also, what is the reason for the 5 s de-sync between the front and the back video? Clearly the back recording is ahead. Thank you!

As for the non synced front and rear video due to poor editing. Sorry about that! The dashcam doesn't do PIP.

The rear camera work alongside the main camera as the recording dump into the main camera.

A800 doesn't support driving route, I doubt the A800s does too. As far as I know, only the A500s support that. It use the 70mai to view the route travelled.

I bought my 70mai A800 last Aug. 2020. Lately, it made recordings for only 20 seconds intervals. When I shut off my car's engine, the dash cam also stops (as it normally does) but re-starts again. Reviewing the contents of the sd card, there are latest recordings that could not be displayed. Is there something wrong with the cam? How could I have it repaired, just in case? Thanks for replying
Maybe you can try to replace a different memory card. Poor memory could lead to such a problem
Car dealers would cancell warranty if connection to be connected to the battery.
Would the connection use the cigarate lighter?
You can power it with the cigarette charger, which wouldn't affect your car's warranty.

In case you want to remove it, the adhesive will not damage your windscreen tint (if you install one) and also won't leave any residue from the adhesive
Ideally, do not cross any wires over your curtain airbag. You should wire it along the inner pillar (touching the inside of the windscreen), and along the side of the dash. The installation instructions draw this clearly. Good luck..

It can't be used as a reverser camera. It's a dashcam with rear recording capability.
Can you turn on a mirror view from the rear camera on the display A800 ?
The first button allows you to switch between front and rear viewing camera
The front and rear video do not seem to be in sync? Is it a pre-release bug?
Sorry for the bad editting, it was not sync correctly. BTW this is a pre-production unit with early software, thus are some bugs need to be fixed.

You only need 1 for the main dashcam. The main dashcam will feed power to the rear camera.
Does the rear camera need another outlet or does it share power with the front cam?
The primary dashcam will provide power to the rear camera. Basically, it only need 1 wire to connect and power the rear camera b
What kind of hardware do you need to watch the videos? They couldn't play on my tablet, it just kept on freezing and returning back to gallery.
H.265 would requires MX Players, you may Google and see which players works best
Do you have a sample of the video at 4k with sound? I think sound lets these devices down quite a lot of the time. I'm interested as a show camera for my car.

The resolution is nowhere near your your videos at 4K.
Is there any settings that i should change, set , update etc?
I'm not too sure the 800s are using the same camera sensor. Check the recording quality is set to 4K for the recording. Additional, check any new firmware update as it does improve over new software

for some reason on the dashboard is very sharp, think it might be a focus issue

It's a pre-production unit, therefore buggy software. The problem has be resolved with the new software update. Do check out the latest video that shown 4K recording and ADAS recording
Could A800 show the PIP ? Seem it can only show the front or rear camera.
No Picture-in-Picture. You can switch between the camera on the dashcam with just a button

I would recommend so as it's a trusted brand. It might release to the mass market but would be later after the Indiegogo release. There's gonna be shipment charges

Depends on the car manufacturer. You may want to get advice from your dealership or probably get the authorized centre to fix it for you?

It doesn't rotate, instead, you can install the rear camera inside to record cabin situation

If just recording front it would record up to 4K. If you attached the rear camera, the front recording can only go up to 2,560 x 1,600 where the rear camera record at 1,920 x 1,080

Hello, first of all: Thanks to this great and clear video, I’ve decided to purchase the 70mai A800S, so thanks a lot for your effort! :)
Second: I experience the same issue where downloaded footage does not show in my iPhone’s photo/video album. The firmware is up to date according to the app. The only message I get is that the video has been successfully saved to the APP, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Any advice? Thank you!
Edit: Found it! From the home screen (before connecting to the device), click your user icon in the top left. After downloading footage, it should be stored in ‘Local Album’ in the left menu. From there I could export them to my iPhone. Hope this helps for other iPhone users as well!
I bought 1 of this recently and i m puzzled if it still has the voice command just like the previous 70 Mai Pro? Btw, how do i switch to rear monitoring on my 70mai app on the phone?

Voice command has removed. You can't preview the rear recording through the app. You can only switch the view on the dashcam itself

Thanks Joshua Wong. I had replaced the battery a day ago searching some help thru some CZcams post. However, after a couple of hours using the cam, it just suddenly stopped. I let it rest for a couple of hours and restarted it. The indicator turns red, meaning the battery lose power and it is not charging. Do you have an idea why? Do I need to replace the battery again? How about parking mode (engine off recording) need hardwired to fuse box?
Parking mode doesn't required hardwire. It will use the built-in battery to do recording
You would need to hardwire it. I just installed my Garmin mini using a hardwire kit with the fuse box. Really simple. If you use the cigarette fuse like in this video you'll drain the battery.

The latest firmware has removed the Parking Surveillance and you are required to install Hardwire Kit to enable the Parking Mode

No you can't, it's a dedicated Dashcam recorder. But you can preview it on your Android player if it supported or can download the 70mai app

I wonder why the dash cam's GPS is not indicating the real-time speed on its display. Sorry but it makes me doubt if it's GPS is precise in this respect.

Honestly, I'm not very impressed. Can't see a huge leap from 70mai Pro in terms of video quality in this review, perhaps CZcams compressed his video footage. The videos recorded by the rear camera are also kinda blurry. Btw, 70mai Pro can apparently shoot higher quality video, so I have no idea why the reviewer used a 1080p video from his Pro when comparing to the A800 (for the sake of making the difference between two dashcams bigger?).

Thanks for highlighting this. Actually my intention is to show high resolution would able to show sharper details like what you can see on the 5x zoom. The reason I use 1,080P for comparison because Full HD is a more standard/common dashcam recording resolution.
Personally I find the 70mai A800 sensor much sensitive and brighter compared to the 70mai Pro. As for the rear camera it only shoot Full HD and has smaller sensor compare to 70mai Pro/A800

If you follow this, all of the air bag on Left-hand side will become invalid.
No wires were disconnected or wrapped around the airbag. *Touch Wood* if the airbag deployed, only the wire will be dragged off of the conceal area

Parking Surveillance feature on the camera is terrible. It has no buffering and doesn't start recording until 3 seconds after the event.
If your car gets side swiped the other car will be out of the picture before the video even starts. My car is parked more than it is being driven as is the case for most cars so that's not a good thing. They updated the firmware so now the Parking Surveillance does not even work unless you buy their special 3-wire hard wiring kit to activate it... No thank you.
