I can't stand that expansion already. It's literally unplayable, I've spent 35 minutes from a glitch to another. It makes me so angry that EA are killing this franchise for good 😢
It is so glitchy that i have to quickly enter and leave build mode for the owned business tab to show the rental properties I own. It is a complete nuisance 🙃
exactly! Why are people defending these empty lots?? I saw people say" Oh, I can just plop one from the gallery there". I mean sure, because other simmers are working for free to make these when really EA should provide good ones in the first place! I mean you purchase a pack for 40 Dollars to have empty lots? Also, I don't know of really any other game, where you have to basically remake the townies, the houses and the world to have somewhat interesting gameplay. EA should be providing all of that as a BARE minimum
Oh for real, I loaded into the save with a family of six and was disappointed to find that the only "large" apartment was already taken by a premise family. I know I could have evicted them, but I felt bad. So yeah, pretty upset that out of the rental apartments, there's only two. One being a 1 bedroom place and the other just having 2. What a joke. 😅 If they made the world with builders in mind, they should know that builders will bulldoze pre-exsisting lots, idky they didn't just make empty rentals for people to move into. 😅
Personally I delete most of them all anyway and download ones from the gallery but I understand that not everyone can even use the gallery (also me the last 6 months until randomly about a week ago.)
My biggest gripe is that the building they build in wasn't even culturally relevant unlike the bar in Snowy Escape, who TF goes to lounge in a RURAL SOUTHEAST ASIAN VILLAGE? They clearly didn't do enough research about southeast Asian rural area
I don’t understand why in university you can live in a dorm with like 4 roommates and everything is loaded and then if you build a house with shared space and 3 rooms and you live in one of them, you need to go through a loading screen to load one of the other rooms…
I forgot about that. Now that I think about it one issue might have to do with pathfinding. Like they would probably just treat ur house as their own and ur sims the same. Everyone would be unable to stay in their own properties. They’ve never had to add coding for that bc they’ve always been protected by loading screens and we all know they’re not gonna bother doing it now. Just lazy. The entirety of sims 4 is defined by it.
@@cleverhandle420 i don't have that problem at all, and i know because i used a lot of roommate system. The biggest bug that the Dev team hasn't fixed in regard to this is actually the game didn't register the roommate using their own bedroom or eating food, even if they did, sometimes they don't. But if that's the reason "why" they didn't use roommate system and make a $40 DLC instead, you're basically saying they're selling a $40 bug fix
If path finding can work with locked doors, it should be able to work with locked apartment doors. At least locked doors work in some patches. @@cleverhandle420
You can have up to 48 sims on a single lot with rentals. I can say from experience that the game struggles a bit when you have over 30 sims on a single lot as my current household has 32 sims in it.
So this pack includes a pool party, but no lots with a pool, and no swimwear ? Wtf even. It's like they suddenly remembered TS4 didn't have pool parties, and added them here randomly.
This pack very much feels like they were working on several smaller things and then EA needed bigger end-of-year returns and made them combine it all into an expansion pack with pre-order exclusives.
Not only is it sad that the game is so bugged. Whats really shady is how EA avoids refunding the game. In the EU you have the right for a refund if the game is not working as advertised. On the EA help page they have articles explaining how to request a refund, but all of this is a dead end, different links and banners try to divert you on your way there. Eventually you find an alleged chat support with '1 minute wait time', but after 20 minutes of waiting, nothing happened. Alternatively, they have a contact form in their imprint where I entered all my complaints about the game, but when sending you again only get an error message. WOW poojah what is this behaviour?!
I used to live in an area with a lot of Amish neighbours, and have literally opened the door and was face to face with a random horse. More than once. 😂
It's super cool that you clarified that this pack is really only for if you're a content creator. Honestly this game is so much less fun to play than it is to watch and it's been that way for a long while.
About the shrine. The beliefs are different. The japanese one is to honor their ancestors. While the spirit house, in Thailand it's for holy spirits, not for ancestors spirit (some says your ancestor's spirit can be there too, to each their own belief.) Offering food or incense to a spirit house is the way to show respect to the holy spirit. Wishing them to protect residents. Actually it's a must to honoring a spirit house if you just move in. As a way to introducd yourself to the holy spirits. But it's ok if you choose to not doing it if you're non-religious (me included). Hope that will clarify it. Sorry if it's hard to understand cause my English is broken. 💀

Honoring Spirit House isn't just Thai as well, it's kinda a widespread mysticism that people still believe in regardless of their religion in southeast Asian, the practice is not as chastised in Buddhist countries like Thailand, but it is pretty much controversial in Muslim majority country like Indonesia and Malaysia, despite many people still actually practicing it especially in rural area. But it is pretty much a religious practice akin to Shinto shrine worship. that being said, the reason why the shrine wasn't controversial in this pack probably because we don't have a Korean country to ban it this time.
LOL, I love how she fought the sim because that sim broke into her flat, but then she sat on the bed by that sim and she started chatting. TS2 could NEVER! Like, where is the police?
Just in case anyone didn't know. If you buy the lot or already own the lot as a residential, like Satch did in the beginning, to turn it into a rental lot you just go into build mode and swith to residential rental. You can then assign the areas you want to rent out. You will then see when you go to the business tab you are able to manage the properties like any rental and move available sims in. You can also then exit into the world editor and move in whoever you want. Your sim will be the property owner.
@marykateryan8756 That's only happened to me once so far where I haven't been able to change the lot type. Though that wasn't in a property my sim owned, so I'm guessing that's another glitch to add to the long list of glitches for this pack.
My fav new bug that we got with for rent is when a random perfectly clean and working pressure cooker causes a never ending "filthy surraundings" uncomforteble moodlet until you get rid of it. It took me half an hour to figure out what was the problem, so be careful with pressure cookers! Ah I love brand new and brokon expansion packs.
Confront about secret is in the Friendly category, I believe under Gossip. After you confront you can blackmail (mean>malicious) or promise to keep the secret (friendly.)
Satch, you CAN put boats in the inventory, if you place a boat and select it there is an option to add to inventory. Unfortunately, even if you DO do that, they still will not autonomously use to boats to cross that body of water, as Deligracy found out in her episode today. So it doesn't matter either way
I think if you move them into it as a regular residential, and then change it to residential rental and set their unit as the home unit, then they will own it and also live there
2:08 Fun fact, the reason the rent is that high is that 4,294,967,295 is the largest number that can be stored as an integer in a lot of programming languages, so there's some bug that's setting the rent to the highest value possible. It's basically saying "I would charge you more but it's literally impossible," which actually feels very on brand for EA.
So about the secret... If you want to confront about secret, that's in "Friendly - Gossip" category. THEN you can decide to keep the secret or blackmail
If you buy a horse ball and put it anywhere, you can have a sim put it in their inventory and then drag it out next to the lot so Feisty Flanch can play with it ❤
I love the way you play Sims. honestly I bought this pack because I was so excited about the idea of having multi-generational homes. that's about it. I've done dorms for colleges now, which is really fun too. With all seems like I've created cause. I like doing generation play; but this pack is so bad....😅 It's like i'm in a vicious unhealthy relationship with EA... I buy a pack I hate the pack thus the cycle Continues.

EA PLEASE LET ME SPEND COUNTLESS FRUSTRATING HOURS UNFU*KING THE GLITCHES AND BROKEN GAMEPLAY. but i did it. i have 35 million broken res rental lots, none of my events are working but hes getting paid his weekly rent so i was happy. until my tenants starting dying of moving out without telling me and the rental stays stuck in limbo mode for 2 sims months while the game figures out, oh that guy DIED, maybe i should unfu*k the rental lot so it can be rented again. nope. let her delete the whole save file and start over cause, HAHAHA WHY NOT. its what an asshole would do, SO LETS DO IT! lol i woke up today and stared at the load game screen like, should i just start over? yeaaaaaaah, delete. sigh. and ill spend the next 4 days rebuilding a sims life to just do it all again later anyway.

If a residential rental is owned, from manage worlds if you click on it, there’s a little for sale sign icon in the bottom corner. If you click that whoever owns it, sells it, and any sim with the cash will be able to purchase it. Also, you can ride the Sulani water vehicles in Tomerang
I play the sims 4 for 10 minutes and get bored. Did I binge watch all of horse ranch in less than 2 days…. yes. Did I think Instantly click on this as soon as I got home from uni? Yes. Yes I did.
I use the residential rental lot type a lot because lots are just unnaturally large so I divide them into at least two units. Well, I turned the landgraab mansion into a village type of thing with six units that are actually full size houses because, well, that lot is hella big. I put a chicken coop in one of the household’s closed off backyard then switched to another household to furnish their home. I played a little with that household and guess what. The family who owns the chickens never came out to take care of them and they slowly starved and I couldn’t even teleport my sims into their backyard because it’s assigned to their unit 😭 the lack of cross pack compatibility is just so annoying like they told us to use our imagination for game play and even that is limited. And there’s no sense of ownership too and now I have bicycles from different households scattered around that anyone can put into their inventory. Now remind me to edit that lot and unassign all yards from all units and just turn them into shared spaces so I could keep animals alive
for rent is such an a excuse of a pack. I have not purchased it yet it's seems like I rather wait for a special even it's takes 6 months. My money doesn't grow on trees. I am disappointed

I had the same problem in the beginning I could not understand why I couldnt purchase the rental homes or change the lot type to rental home. It was sooo frustrating
You could have hovered over the goal and it would explain how to complete it. It's in GOSSIP, in the friendly category. It's not very friendly, but that's where they put it
So glad I didn't buy this crap pack. I knew it was going to be awful. I haven't bought a pack in ages. What kills me is Sims 2 made it so you could have separate apartments without loading screens. Sims 4 is such a mess. I only play because of amazing mods. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't touch this boring, buggy, messed-up game.
You can change to residential rental in build mode - if you haven’t figured it out already! I was playing just a moment ago and I had 10,000 simoleon bills every other day, is that normal?
When you have MCCC , you can click on the PC in CAS Settings under game settings and there should be set in CAS, activate that then you can change someone in CAS, i.e. sexuality or characteristics
this should of absolutely been just a game pack or something. none of the features work properly (big shock) and i feel like they think they could just do whatever because we want the feature to make working custom apartments and town houses and everything. its honestly the only reason i got the pack and i feel robbed glad to watch your lets-play tho. love you dragging the sims too, makes it way more entertaining
i was watching this before going to bed but when you mentioned the price my drowsiness went away (you can guess why this was a shocker lolol). it may seem bigger due to exchange rates but you still can buy a handful of great games for the same money but instead get a half-baked dlc for a game with most dlc count in the series already. makes you wonder how long ea will be able to keep getting away with this

9:41 The spirit shrine in Thai culture is meant for the home’s spirits like the living person thanks the spirits to let them stay at this house. For the family ancestors, we would rather have a shelf or an altar for putting portraits inside the house, not outside like this.
Doesn't it keep all the furniture in the lot when you sell it tho? Technically you move out of the lot so you sell everything, in my game it doesn't delete anything.

You can click on your Sim and choose the Clean out spoiled food option to get them to toss all the rotten stuff in their inventory.
there needs to be a loading screen counter in these let's plays. Even though you cut some out, it still looks like way too many!!

This! ATLA is what comes to mind when I hear The Boulder. I understand EA's intention but I feel like it's some sort of missed opportunity.

If a residential rental is owned, from manage worlds if you click on it, there’s a little for sale sign icon in the bottom corner. If you click that whoever owns it, sells it, and any sim with the cash will be able to purchase it.
Also, you can ride the Sulani water vehicles in Tomerang

I play the sims 4 for 10 minutes and get bored. Did I binge watch all of horse ranch in less than 2 days…. yes. Did I think Instantly click on this as soon as I got home from uni? Yes. Yes I did.

I use the residential rental lot type a lot because lots are just unnaturally large so I divide them into at least two units. Well, I turned the landgraab mansion into a village type of thing with six units that are actually full size houses because, well, that lot is hella big. I put a chicken coop in one of the household’s closed off backyard then switched to another household to furnish their home.
I played a little with that household and guess what. The family who owns the chickens never came out to take care of them and they slowly starved and I couldn’t even teleport my sims into their backyard because it’s assigned to their unit 😭 the lack of cross pack compatibility is just so annoying like they told us to use our imagination for game play and even that is limited.
And there’s no sense of ownership too and now I have bicycles from different households scattered around that anyone can put into their inventory.
Now remind me to edit that lot and unassign all yards from all units and just turn them into shared spaces so I could keep animals alive
for rent is such an a excuse of a pack. I have not purchased it yet it's seems like I rather wait for a special even it's takes 6 months. My money doesn't grow on trees. I am disappointed

I had the same problem in the beginning I could not understand why I couldnt purchase the rental homes or change the lot type to rental home. It was sooo frustrating

So glad I didn't buy this crap pack. I knew it was going to be awful. I haven't bought a pack in ages. What kills me is Sims 2 made it so you could have separate apartments without loading screens. Sims 4 is such a mess. I only play because of amazing mods. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't touch this boring, buggy, messed-up game.
You can change to residential rental in build mode - if you haven’t figured it out already! I was playing just a moment ago and I had 10,000 simoleon bills every other day, is that normal?
To be able to get the trash removal done one can click the bins and hire service from there
@1:24 you can change the lot type in build mode to residental, when you life on this lot ♥
When you have MCCC , you can click on the PC in CAS Settings under game settings and there should be set in CAS, activate that then you can change someone in CAS, i.e. sexuality or characteristics
this should of absolutely been just a game pack or something. none of the features work properly (big shock) and i feel like they think they could just do whatever because we want the feature to make working custom apartments and town houses and everything. its honestly the only reason i got the pack and i feel robbed

i was watching this before going to bed but when you mentioned the price my drowsiness went away (you can guess why this was a shocker lolol). it may seem bigger due to exchange rates but you still can buy a handful of great games for the same money but instead get a half-baked dlc for a game with most dlc count in the series already. makes you wonder how long ea will be able to keep getting away with this

Doesn't it keep all the furniture in the lot when you sell it tho? Technically you move out of the lot so you sell everything, in my game it doesn't delete anything.
I do not own this pack. However, the disappearing interactions has been happening so often since this pack dropped.
You have to move in the aprtment complex as a RESIDENTIAL. After you move in, you can change it to residential RENTAL
i don't have any pets in sims 4, if you forget to feed them will they run off or the social worker come and whisk them away?
