I find that buzzing the mouthpiece has improved my sound remarkably. These are a couple of exercises I use to do every day before picking up the instrument. It gives me a chance to freely blow some air through and easily warm up my chops.

Can anyone help me resolve my doubts? When playing the trombone, is it correct to use normal blowing or buzzing?

You have such an amazing tone to your buzz are you doing anything with the position of your tongue?

      I don't think i do anything special.
I try to keep an open vowel (ohhh) ,the teeth quiet open ....and move lots of air. Steady, constant air

@@alexmoraru251I opened up a pitch app last night on your video where you do mouth piece and trombone and your buzz is right on pitch. I guess that is the goal this is all new for me so I have a lot of practice to do thanks !

      @@georgearagon7463 absolutely !
the goal is to be spot on the pitch all the time. as perfect and steady you are, the more pure the sound will be developed by the instrument.

Good exercise! However, i have a problem with glisses on Bb2-Ab3. The sound quality on this register definitly not great, but i can buzz up to c5 from Ab3, and it sounds a lot better. Same with the lower register. What possibly am i doing wrong?

      Hi !
It would be very difficult to answer your question without seeing/hearing you.
Try doing the exercises in the video along everyday for a couple of weeks.
Focus on the sound you have in mind or you hear, not what it feels.
Just do the exercises. Record and compare after 2 weeks.
If nothing changes, get on my website
      AlexandruMoraru.net and contact me.
      I'll gladly help.

What's better relaxed or tense lips?

    • @alexmoraru251
      @alexmoraru251  Před rokem +2

Well, the corners must be ferm, and the middle part should be relaxed.
