    Want your mind blown?! Check out this tutorial. We have been doing waterslide and making our lives harder than they should be! This way is so easy! I am not the first to do this but I have never seen it done on a tumbler tutorial so I wanted to share it! I recommend only doing this method if you are covering it with epoxy to make it permanent. I have not tried this with the backing and not sealing method so I am not sure if it works for that.

    This was great! Question, after you apply the waterslide do you have to put an epoxy over it? What if you want to put it on like a coffee mug, is that doable?

    • @sharlakayeporterhuebner7407
      @sharlakayeporterhuebner7407 Před 5 lety

      You can put waterslides on coffee mugs the directions are on certain waterslide papers. They say to bake it very low or let sit 3 days. I personally have not tried reversing or mirroring and then using it on a coffee cup you would probably want to make sure it has adhesive on both sides if it wont be under epoxy. Xo

I don't have any waterslide to do right now but do you think the Sunnyscopa would work your new way as well? I sure hope so because then I can use the Blinggasm and Hayes paper that I have here that I have hated!

    • @LittleLeeandRose
      @LittleLeeandRose  Před 5 lety

      Doug even if it is a paper that only has the adhesive only on one side it still works fine because it does still stick down and then you epoxy over the top and that makes it permanent for sure!

      Of course I’m not the one who came up with this. The waterslide company did when they created it. I made this tutorial because every tutorial I watched to learn shows the other way and I didn’t know this way existed and I’m sure many newbies don’t either. I stumbled on this info and wanted to share. I saw a model car guy do it this way and freaked out then checked the waterslide directions and sure enough they do it this way. I was dumbfounded because, like I said, the tutorials I had seen never mentioned this

      Sweetheart she has a link where she got her waterslide. Wicked shimmer supply, the owner is amazing! You can also buy special waterslide paper for your type of printer and inkjet or laser. And google images if you have a silhouette or cricut you can print them through there. If you dont have one you can still download the silhouette software and edit the images. Its amazing. I have a Facebook group myself and I sell glitter as well as waterslides. They are so fun to play with. But you can totally do it yourself. If you have inkjet you must seal your images. After applying the waterslide and letting it dry, I have to do another layer of epoxy correct? Do I sand around the waterslide to do another layer? Was told I need to sand between layers of epoxy.

  • @Eileenthelittlecrafter

    Do you have to seal with the water slide paper Incase your images bleeds ?

    What a great tip! Thank you . So when you pull down, just the picture adheres to the cup. What happens to the excess that’s around the picture? Hope the ? makes since.

      it's clear so it will pic up whatever is on the cup, you won't be able to see the access once epoxy is on it

    Are you meant to epoxy even if you're not using glitter? My waterslide started to peel off from corners and it's killing me. I tried to seal it with clear spray as a finish coat as well as pre slide. It's got a gloss to it but I wonder if that makes it permanent... also do you reckon epoxy should be used on mugs if you have permanent vinyl on it aswell to get a smooth surface. Sorry for all this, but I really need help.

    My understanding of water slide paper is that the part that slides off the paper is what has the “glue” on it. That is what is supposed to help it stick. My concern is after time and possible sun exposure, what will it do to the epoxy? Let’s face it, we can tell people all day long “don’t have it in heat”, but they aren’t going to listen.

      Donna Rabozzi I have cups from at least 6 months ago that are totally fine. Every brand is different some have the glue on the back, some on the front and some have it all the way around

      LittleLee and Rose, what brand do you use? I’ve had a hard time with the kind I got. Wouldn’t mind trying a different one.

    Do you epoxy the tumbler before applying the waterslide? I know I do after applying the decal.

    I will be using an injet printer. So I know I need to seal before wetting. So if I'm not using apoxy I need to bake it if it's a mug or seal it if it's plastic correct? Thanks for you video.
