@@adamrose6969 I mean yeah, I think the poster meant the same lineup that was on DBM1, I could be wrong but I feel like Sean O'Sullivan contributed to DBM1 a lot with the more atmospheric riffs, you can hear that when you listen to the first Consider The Thief EP that there are a lot of riffs that sound like DBM1. Also, while I love Kurt Travis-era DGD, I would've loved to hear what direction the band would've went if they had both Sean and Jonny Craig still in the band.
@@xSebzx I agree. Apart from the Tides Of Man-esque Acceptance Speech, after IG they've fallen in to a groove with Tilian that they rarely venture out of. Mothership through Afterburner sounds like one giant album with the only differences being in the mixing/mastering (even then, slightly). We have yet to see all of what Jackpot Juicer contains, but safe to say it'll be more the same than different. Both of Jonny's albums were extremely dynamic and unpredictable, if a bit chaotic in the case of DBM2.
@mrcadej yea i don't think you can say he didn't get better. he just got better in a different way. he's been touring for years non-stop up till before the DBM tour. that takes a toll on your voice, especially since he sings so high in his range...that takes a lot of power, breathing technique, and vocal strength. he has been using that up a lot in years past. he's definitely making a comeback though.
I've dedicated for almost last 4 years about his technique lmao. It's really complex, His use of support is incredibly efficient. He uses his false cord to make the 'grit', his control is also top notch considering he can go from belting to chest without noticeable transition. Also he's very confident about his voice. So basically, Whenever Jonny belts he uses false cord to shield his vocal folds with enough compression to control the tone and incredible support to belt it out. Also in DBM1 he can switch head voice, to mix, to chest and belting effortlessly!
@@ghastlyshimmer in the crazy thing is that he probably doesn't even really know what he's doing, he just knows what to do because it sounds correct. Guys like him just have a god given talent that they can't put into words
