in my life I 've seen many acts, live acts, Djing, vinyl, midi controllerism, you name it....what this lad did here smacked me down big time...I mean I know business (DJing myself), I know music (working as pro engineer for more than 20 years) and hearing his set here was really refreshing. Great skills, amazing build up, hats off to the DVS1 for his music knowledge, and mainly magical skills...I thought I can DJ and mix music.... after seeing this, I need to go back to school and start all over again:)
I love watching DVS1 because he's a DJ that somehow defies even the most knowledgeable DJ's and clubbers. Not just his ability to select great music but how he plays both the tracks and the soundsystem.

God damn I love this big bald techno beauty. Releases - ace, labels - both cracking, dj sets - always leave you slack jawed thinking “I need to practice more” and I’ve never seen an interview or set of his where’s he’s not smiling or laughing. Keep up the good work Zak.

@@raznatovicanastasija On dressing in layers for outdoor parties in the Bay Area? Well, a sunny warm day can turn cold, windy and foggy in a matter of minutes. So the best thing to do is dress in "layers" that you can add or remove throughout the day as the temperature fluctuates. THAT particular spot on Treasure Island (no longer usable for events as of now) is in the middle of the bay and there's no wind barrier. So it was freezing and foggy AF until, like 3pm (you can see the moment the sun finally came out in the video) and people were in wooly hats and parkas but after the sun came out, it was t-shits and stuff, then 4 hours later ittwas back to coats and wooly hats.

actually, rewatching this video i get it now. you don't see the huge field of party people dancing to the backdrop of the san francisco skyline. makes sense.
God the Bay is just too cool for anybody out of town, even though this man plays Awakenings and draws thousands!

Dj set not a live set.
Whats the difference?
A dj is simply the dj playing songs on the turntables/cdjs. A live set is when something is perfromed completely if not almost completely live manipulating sounds and remixing tracks on the fly.
