    you can mention variable backpressure as pressure developed due to friction forces or hydraulic pressure. also in case multiple relief devices are connected to same header and relieving at a time.

    Very comprehensive coverage. Excellent. Pls explain that you mentioned earlier that PSV used for compressible fluids and PRV for incompressible ones but later many times you mentioned of PSV on pump discharge.

      Very Good observation Amitabh.
      You are absolutely right, PSV is used for compressible fluids and PRV for non compressible fluids. But the term "PSV" is used as a general term for all types of relief valves, regardless of the fluid type that's why I referred to it as PSV.

      Very good question. This can be a scenario but we do not consider double jeopardy while sizing PSV.
      For more related information related to rupture Disc and PSV combination please go through API 520 part 1 page 27.
