I would like to say though that I am unsure how much of the growth BJ was talking about at the end of the video is actual growth, and how much of it was due to a different persona. What I mean is that his 'Slim Shady' persona/alter ego produced Kim (among others) where he talked about killing her and throwing her in the trunk of his car, and so on, while Mockingbird was produced (I believe) by his real self-the Marshall Mathers persona. Was/Has Marshall Mathers always been this down-to-earth emotional guy that we see here and in other songs like When I'm Gone and Marshall Mathers? I can't answer that, only he can, really. Incidentally, his 3rd persona, that of Eminem, is in my mind the bridge between the two other sides-willing to say what needs to be said, not caring how it is said, but not going super dark and crazy with it either.
