I do like the colours - it is hard to get my hands on succulent cuttings here in England so I have to buy large individual echiveria or small sempevivam clusters - it is tricky to get a selection of similar sized cuttings for a display like this but I do think it is beautiful!
I have the same problem Lizzie - hard to find cuttings - I started to propagate some from the succulents I have and collect from friends - but it takes so long till you have enough plants to make a project like this

This is stunning Laura! I have been wanting to create a succulent centerpiece for my kitchen table. There is a bow window right next to it that gets bright morning sun. I am in upstate NY so I'm a zone 4. Our light fixture right above my table enables me to control where the light shines. Would that kind of lighting help the succulents or do I have to have specific lighting for them? I am just worried I don't have enough light for it to thrive.

If you find just a couple, you should be able to take cuttings from them over time and expand your collection. I'm just shooting a guess though, I've never dealt with succulents myself.

Võ Hoàn if you have a small spouted watering can you can shift the succulents a little so you have direct access to the moss.

Why didn't you use glue with this project?
Probably it has a good reason, but why cannot just use a thin-end funnel to water it form the top?
The water would hopefully spread evenly, but the leaves would not get unnecessarily wet .
I think it is beautiful - perhaps my favorite succulent topiary. But, the cost seems exorbitant. It looks like you used, front, back, and sides, approximately 100 succulents. The web site you linked to sells 100 echevarias for $400.00!!!. What am I missing? Is there a cheaper option?
gayla gavin I also saw $400 for 100 succulents! I don’t think I can afford this project! But its beautiful!
I saw on another site that you can get 100 cuttings for 2.50 each, total $250. Plus tax, plus shipping, plus topiary. Still FAR too expensive for me for this project. Too bad; it is so pretty.
gayla gavin so I looked at the topiary and it’s only 5.75” by 5.75”. So maybe you don’t need that many?? The is definitely cheaper but still expensive!
Laura, suggestion, please consider including information on your all future projects about what it would cost us to make. We have to buy retail, so it's a huge consideration. :)
I paused the video and counted the number I could see on the front of Laura's and then doubled that for the other side and added a few more for the sides. It came up to about 100. Try it and see. :)
