The real underdogs in the whole futball history are the europeans. They just have the money, but can't keep with the production of great players Brazil, Argentina and the rest of south america can.
@@Jonathan-gl3tf Wrong about the historical part. Historically, European nations have one more total world cups than South American and African nations combined. Also, MORE TOTAL EUROPEAN NATIONS have won the World Cup than South American nations. So, historically, Europeans were never the underdogs. Additionally, like you mentioned, the combination of immigration, scouting, and resources allowed these countries to recruit non native players into their football system over time. However, again the historical account shows many instances of teams comprised of european-descendent players aka white players (which I assume to you is an important distinction) winning major international trophies such as various Italian World Cup teams, or 1966 England squad, or various German teams (think about 2014 World Cup), or Spain in 2010. While its easy to point towards France as "guilty" in recruiting black players from Africa and that being the main source of their success, it's definitely just a single example in a wide pool of examples where the opposite is true. Also in regards to great players, again, way more great players have come out of Europe than South America. That undeniable fact. Having Messi, Pele, and Maradona doesn't automatically mean the footballing output of your continent is superior to that of Europe. Nonsense argument.
Also, to add. When you think about UCL winning teams and the demographic makeup of their rosters, they are NOT comprised of South American players. Often times there aren't any more than 1 or 2 South American players on UCL / Europa League winning sides. Liverpool a few years ago had I think just Firmino and Fabinho? Madrid this year had just Rodrygo and Vini. Chelsea a few years back had I think just Thiago Silva? Bayern Munich pretty much never rosters South American teams and they're one of the most winningness football teams in UCL and Bundesliga history. Barcelona haven't won since 2015 but even that year their squad only had 4 South American players. I could go on but why bother
