Boy, the atmosphere. I'm not gonna say "i wish i was born in those times" but hell, i'd be lying if i say that i don't want to be in those jazzy places drinking bourbon, smoking, listening, talking, enjoying myself...
Yes and this is 2021
iIf you are interested I have a time machine on sell... It is called Jack daniels
I was out and about during those times and playing too. You're right. You would have enjoyed it. However, I never smoked, drank to excess, or drugged. The smoke was a little much at times.
ME TOO 🍉
V.W❤
Love this!!! And she just got better with age.
She was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!
+SpeakMyMind Yes... I'm amazed!
SpeakMyMind still beautiful at 80. I've always loved that she let her hair whiten/gray, too. Especially when her peers were wearing wigs or dying their hair. Made her that much more beautiful.
RIP ..A CLASS ACT THAT STAYED CLASSY..RIP
Why is this woman not as well known as say Eartha Kitt, or Etta James, or Dinah Washington?? She has the most unique sound. She could have sung the phone book and you would know it was NW!
I am going to listen to (and appreciate) more of her music and find out more about her life :)
She is well known
She was so beautiful and gifted
RIP Nancy Wilson
Where style, sexy, intelligence, talent, beauty, class being a woman & a lady come together. This confluence ladies and gentlemen the ultimate story teller this ladies and gentlemen the inconquerable NANCY WILSON.
"The Fancy Miss Nancy Willson", that will stay with me for the rest of my life!
Saw her in the late 60’s in Minneapolis. Great show enchanting personality, great voice and gorgeous. Will miss her
This is the stuff that should be playing late nites on BET out of RESPECT.
Love Nancy. RIP beautiful lady.
RIP Sister Queen Nancy Wilson.
Nat King Cole and Nancy Wilson were great and broke barriers. Wow!
Her voice reminds me of the best of times in the 1960's
Such class with a golden voice!
Great video of Nancy Wilson. Live performance in 1962, wish I was in the audience. Wait, Just closed my eye's and I am there, Ahwwwwwwwwww. Thanks for posting !
My God!!! She was GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!
I agree! Delicate features. Elegant gestures. Exquisite voice.
That sweet baby face! All of her talent was already in full flower. RIP Fancy Miss Nancy.
Strong constitution, a Revelation, a Woman of her Era. What a star flamed virtuoso. we will miss you...!!
Beautifully stated. A firecracker of feminimity
I saw this woman perform in 2009 and she's still the sexiest vocal scientist on the planet. Can't beat Nancy's Happy Talk.
That's about the same time we saw her. Fabulous presence and voice!
I play Happy Talk as my voicemail message. Folks who hang on long enough to leave a message always comment. Two people told me how much they enjoyed it on the day she passed. I could not help but smile
PG Y, "vocal scientist" is the best phrase I have read in a long time! Thank you.
That ending of Guess Who I Saw is the most piercing and haunting line ever. Imagine you partner who you were cheating on looked at you straight in the eyes and said it like that...
Rest in peace, dear Nancy. Thank you for the stunning music and joyful life you lived.
We lost a huge part of music when she left us. So beautiful. 💐
That's true, she was a true talent with a lovely voice, what's your favorite song by her?
@@John-ok4zh Mine's is "On the street where you live."
these jazz scene shows are real gems. 50+ years later and i'm totally enthralled.
That's what real talent does to you.
I love this show 💥
In mid 50's I spent hours listening to Nancy and the Rusty Bryant band at a little club in Columbus called Kitty's Show Bar. What a great voice even then. I was at OSU but a jazz loving friend and I spent many school nights there, I with a flashlight to use to study during intermission! She has been one of my favorites ever since.
Truly classic and I can undetstand, every word!!!!
This clip reminds me that pure talent wins every time. Ms. Nancy never leaked nudes, twerked, sang anything vulgar nor wore clothing befitting of a brothel, yet her career spanned decades, and she is definitely one of the classiest women to ever adorn a stage! Her voice is so clear and pure. Yeah, she's among my favorites!
If only that were true. Pure talent does not win every time. Do you know any professional musicians?
Miss Wilson, I will agree, is divine.
amen!!Amen!!Whatey Man
kpitt1204 preach. Class, Talent and Dignity always stand the test of time.
TruthSerum101 I'm so late with my reply! Lol I meant in comparison to a lot of the vocalists today. Yes, I totally understand what you are saying. I live it! Hope all is well.
Fantastic voice , classy lady. They don't sing like that anymore !
Forever Fancy Ms Nancy 🍸 True "Class"
I can’t believe her voice was silenced today. RIP Nancy Wilson
My heart is truly broken ...
Not silenced. Her beautiful body was laid to rest; and her angelic voice and spirit was lifted up in Heaven. Her soul will stay in residence with us through all of the perfect, magnificent, pristine vocal recordings, and televised shows of her genius gift from God.
@@narvelancoleman3813 Beautiful! Your comment is so high-spirited and TRUE. Let's anticipate the Heavenly Choir's arrival when the Almighty YAH reclaims HIS world😍
@2dsimmons...Thank you for your kind comment. God Bless You!
Encantadora voz
Nancy Wilson is one of the best Singers in history, she's next to Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Pattie Labelle, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Gladys knight, and Phyllis Hyman. I don't think this generation really knows who Nancy Wilson is, she is underrated but people needs to give her a lifetime tribute to her music and singing.
This is what TV is suppose to look like. Real talent showing off there talents for all the world to see. I wish TV would look like this again!!
big88ful yes this was when talent was real natural talent.
We all do. Grace and elegance and classic hollywood was featured.
You'd have to turn back time and have to adopt many ways of social graces morals and standards of engagement that existed without the tenants of white supremacy. Ms. Nancy Wilson was not only elegant, poised, uniquely talented in her craft, but she was a confident, informed, intelligent, well raised young woman supported throughout her life by her parents and decent people in the industry. What many may not realize is that she was an activist against the injustices of our society then. Yet she managed to balance her private and public life because the media and journalism were more true to form not ficticous, venomous sensationalism deceiving the mass. Ms Nancy Wilson was at a time when the artist was more in control of her delivery and production was not the driving force it later became.
I got an CD with Ms. Wilson and Mr. Lou Rawls during Christmas songs and I listen to it year round, my first serious girlfriend was name Nancy.
One of the BEST!!! To EVER do it!!!!!!!’
Oscar Brown's comments at 4:45 are worth noting. Respect the lyrics... find a song with something valid to say, then say it. Nancy Wilson brings out a depth of meaning to lyrics
that is very rare. Her vibrato is compelling, her quiet phrases draw you in-- and then--wham,
she nails a high note that soars and cuts. The range of emotion she expresses is spellbinding.
Wow... What a GREAT cover of Happy Talk...! She sounds amazing...!! :)
Wish shows like this were on TV now.
One of the most beautiful women in the planet... Ms. Nancy Williams.... Heavily talented singer with elegance, charm, class! Love from Bangalore, India
Back in '62 Nancy Wilson was guest on many TV shows she was HOT, Loved her great voice and artistic abilities...so happy to hear here again. Thank you. Chesapeake Music.
62 reminds me of her version of Put on a Happy Face, best version ever. Cool, jazzy, sexy with CLASS!!!
Rest peacefully. She was a national treasure
what he said about lyrics was so pleasant
Wow! I'm really enjoying Fancy Miss Nancy here. I still remember her fabulous album with the late great Cannonball Adderley. Beautiful.
Nancy Wilson. Big time talent!!
Nancy Wilson truly was FANCY MISS NANCY. She has such a feminine style and really gets a lot out of a song. BEAUTIFUL.
She was painfully gorgeous in her 20s. She came from an era where you had to have talent. The competition was fierce. Mediocrity? Never made it back then.
Such a great the Honorable Nancy Wilson RIP 🌹🙏❤😢 Thank you.
She's only 25 here. How did she attain such maturity with her singing, so young?
She had been singing from her youth from what I understand
An innate talent!
A nice lady talked to me tonight and put me on😍She is everything she said she was😍Theres oldies then theres vintage for some😍😍Love the past. They sung from the heart. Wish ya would put some bullish out🤣
Wow! Another one of our greats gone - but her beautiful music will remain with us! Good to see Oscar Brown Jr. doing this intro. too!
I love how they set the stage for the classic "Guess who I saw today."
Great music is Timeless! Nancy is a treasure.
Just beautiful! Love you Fancy Miss Nancy
Nancy Wilson remind me of a Jazz version of Whitney Houston, even though she opened the door for Whitney Houston and other great female singers, no doubt Nancy learned from the greats Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington. She has class about her self and grace. She will be missed
Wow! I've been a fan of the incomparable Nancy Wilson for decades. This footage is fabulous. I fall deeper in love.
Wow!!! I have always respected her exquisite and classy voice, but this is the first time I have ever seen young Nancy Wilson singing. Amazing! The internet's good for this, at least.
Hear, hear!
same here, never saw her until now!
An amazing singer
My favorite album "Nancy and Cannonball" been listening to her since I was sixteeen years old. My older sister got married and left that album in the house and I've been listening to it every since 1966 even before then because I remember listening to
"guess who" and my sisters discussing that song and how she caught her man cheating. My sister was into Nancy, Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughn but I fell in love with Nancy. Such a beautiful distinguished voice.!!
Yr sister had incredibly excellent taste Cassandra!!
Wow! I'm back because i cannot get enough of Fancy Miss Nancy's singing on these beautiful old songs. She really is a feminine songstress and you won't see (1}) tattoo! Hooray.
'Little Girl Blue' @ 5:07 ~ Beautiful Silky Nancy Wilson , Thank you for the gift your, most lovely, music.
What a gem. Exquisite and delightful. I love Nancy,Thanks for posting.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to see her live a few times. What a treat. For someone who always proclaimed herself NOT a jazz singer, SHe is probably my favorite female "jazzy" singer ever. ONly Sarah Vaugh even comes close for me.
What a wonderful voice. PLEASE folks, listen to the whole clip ... AND I guarantee that you will know that you've heard the most beautiful singer that you ever heard in the past 50 years. Can you tell me anyone better ? AND ... it occurred to me that she is not just a singer BUT a fantastic muso.... Just listen to the track "Never will I marry " Just amazing.
Excellent! The great Nancy Wilson!!!
The elega nce and poise Nancy has displayed tbroughout her career, was already in place during this wonderful performance. Kenny, Al and Lou Levy were superb.Oscar Brown, Jr. was a dashing and charming host. Great show, thanks for posting.
I love this lady. A true treasure not found in today's music.
Music is so disgusting nowadays. It's synthetic, soulless and just plain weird.
What a beauty with a beautiful voice i just love her! RIP Nancy you will never be replaced!
These are some great programs. And it's so cool to have a sophisticated host in Oscar Brown, Jr. A great artist in his own right.
AMAZING OMG FANTASTIC R.I.P. NANCY WILSON LOVE KEITH
Thank you for uploading. Put on a Happy Face! Come on & get happy! (Love "Happy Talk" - never heard her sing it before. It was a standard I sang for my grandchildren) RIP Ms. Wilson. You are the song of my life. My Dad had your albums and I played them all the time as a teenager growing up in the Motown era. "I Believe in YOU!" SUBLIME. What a set!
Ms. Wilson; a priceless treasure and a gift from heaven, she's a blessing for the families of the earth.
My heart is broken at her passing but filled with joy that a talent this fierce blessed us. Class. Elegance and natural interpretive skill. Rest well angel. R.I.P.
Classy singer Miss Wilson was....thank you for posting!!!!!

I have loved this lady near my whole life. I have everything on record that ever recorded that I know of. I would love for someone to post her ' Nancy Wilson show' from the 60's as well as ' Red hot and cool' I remember her 2 appearence on ' this is ' Tom Jones and I would just die is someone posted these gems. PLEASE!
Rare diamond!
I Believe in You...one of the great songs of all time...
Nancy Wilson is the best Great American Song Book interpreter, more versatile and soulfull/dramatic than Frank Sinatra
who is this Sinatra guy that everyone sings better then?
must be some bum
lol
nancy wilson is a fine singer but as close to Sinatra as a mouse to a lion
I wouldn't compare the two but they were both great singers. "mouse to a lion" is ridiculous
This is superb Nancy at 25 I love Nancy and saw and met her many times she was delightful, elegant, intelligent musical and of course just so Beautiful, I miss you and your voice Miss Fancy Nancy Wilson, RIHP!
I grew up listening to Ms. Wilson, my parents loved her vocals, all of her music.....Ms. Wilson was a talented, intelligent, beautiful, classy lady. I will always love her jazzy music style!!!! Goodnight Ms. Lady!!!!!!
This is a true treasure. Crazy to think this was recorded the year I was born. The “current “ artists of today need to try to reach her vocal talent. Imagine what a different world we would live in.
Just beautiful in every sense of the word. A blessing was given to us for all to enjoy. Hope you enjoyed her as much as I did. Love you, Nancy. Rest in Peace.
This is the best singer in this world to me .She has never gotten the due she deserved .I love you Nancy Wilson .
An incredible one of a kind talent. Guess Who I Saw Today, had no idea she was doing this that early in her career.
God bless you Nancy.
Nancy has blown my mind. My late friend Mr Bingham loved this woman. I was young... listening to Chaka Khan...Tell me something good. I'm 62 now and I can't get enough of Nancy. Such a beautiful soulful voice. This is music.
Interesting that you bring up Chaka Khan in relation to Nancy Wilson. Both sang with the Echoes of an Era band. I have the CD with Chaka, but cannot find the cassette I had from the 80s with Nancy. Both bands were swinging straight ahead. What voices. Two of my favorite vocalists. We miss you, Nancy.
Folks! One of my all time favorite singer, Nancy Wilson, way back in 1962! COOL! and dam swinging. Listen to her!
Never got to see Nancy in concert: thank God for You Tube concerts!❤
There are many singers that I like but Nancy Wilson is the only one I can listen to and never get tired, she's just that good and then there's that Smile.
Great little piece of history, thank you for posting :) Nancy Wilson= elegance, beauty, and soul
AMAZING!!!!
