- In this video I show you how I built I a tiny cabin in a forest of the Azores islands. The cabin has a dimension of 10 square meters, and is entirely built with Japanese cedar wood. The price of the materials was around 3000 EUR (3200 USD), and I needed approximately 15 days to build it.

I can hardly watch a man working that hard, in a green forest on a sunny day, with a sock hat on. I would have passed out due to heat exhaustion. But great job.
The temperature is quite good here!
Finally over 1k views on this one, with the cabin in the thumbnail. People seem to like "start to finish" videos.
Screw keyboard warrior's! You do you!
Keine unnötigen Reden .Sehr gutes Handwerk .Alle Achtung !
That has to be one of the most secure foundations I’ve EVER seen. Lots of HARD WORK! Great job!
You must not be very well versed in foundation work then,....I saw 3rd world rubble, haiti type work..... just saying

This guy has precisely accurately measurements, sturdy materials he used. This house will last a long time if it we I'll be treated with termites, dried woods termites. Good luck, man.
Particularly, this week I go to apply a product to protect this cabin!
Successful Achievement. Solid can-do attitude.

Great idea using foamboard insulation. Much easier to work with.
I enjoyed watching the process. Hope you and your wife are doing well. 😊

Your skill is extraordinary in making a very nice cabin

No vapor barrier between siding and framing. I don’t know if skipping that step was a good idea in the long run but, enjoy your bright cute cabin.
Why would they need a 'vapour barrier' in this climate? . . .
Can you explain to me the environments in which a vapor barrier is necessary? Would it be placed on the outside of the frame? Thank you.
This is a solid, perfect, small, tiny house
Okay 👍 👌 approved !!
Thanks👍
Wow! Super!
estupendo trabajo me gustaria ver una con baño
I like the high of the 😅foundation very safe from the water
Yes!
Simplemente ¡hermosa!
Muchas gracias, me alegro que te guste!
ok, you insulated the walls almost properly without putting anti-condensation foil, but all the heat is dissipated through those simple windows😮
Can you recommend me an anti-condensation foil? I never used that.
Very Very Nice Work!
Thanks Tommy

What??? He literally used heavy equipment to dig out the foundation. He used expensive Makita cordless tools, a stihl chain saw. He used all kinds of fancy stuff to help him.
Thanks for the comment!
Sure. I built a cabin without power tools or experience. If you prefer this type of content, I encourage to check my first videos of the channel.

Nice build….
❤❤❤Hi I love your video
Thanks!
I'm new to your channel. This caught my eyes. What are you going to put inside? I would like to know what it will look like🤔
Awsome job man I love it! Your poor chisel though... it needs some love man! Shine that boy up and put a razor edge on it. Cutting those laps would be so much easier. Awesome job! I can't wait to start on our build!
когда жена соратник и помощница - это замечательно!!!
Use an impact driver my friend, your shoulder and wrist will thank you when you drive screws into the wood with ease.
You are rigth! I need to buy one!
Amazing work truly inspiring ❤
Thanks!
That’s so nice I really want to build this cabin but I think I’m not good enough. But I really want it ❤
You can. I have learned by watching CZcams videos. Start with a wooden chicken coop😅.
A constructive criticism, I personally would never, on a sheet metal roof, put screws to hold it between the lowest part, that is just the top as you did, but the bottom, never! That's where the water passes constantly, and the rubber that prevents water from entering, doesn't last forever. A corrugated roof like this always has to be screwed on top of the highest wave, because we know perfectly well that the water passes through the lowest wave. I'm no construction expert and I've never built a house like this, but that's the logic of things. if the water passes through the bottom part I will not put screws in that area. 😅✌
Besides, I personally couldn't have built it better! very well made and solid, both in summer and winter. 👍
You are rigth!
I live in a third world country, my grandma's house is made of wood and actually has a metal roof so I can confidently tell you that those screws do their work and last the whole life of the sheet metal itself... Ours are Nails without the rubber, not screws like he used here and no water come through in all the years that house has.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 nice
Why did you not place pillars under the center floor joist? Is it because the square footage is small enough that the house will be strong enough without it? I would worry that over time, the center of the main floor will sag. I'm not a builder, but want to learn.
The cabin is relatively small, and both pillars are less than 3 meters apart, which is enough, since the main weight is on the sides.
Trabalho magnífico... Uma dúvida, porque queimar a madeira, qual principal objetivo, é contra umidade, obrigado.
Protege da humidade e dos insetos
@@WildGnomos muito obrigado
Great job. Watching from America, (Arkansas). You need sceens for your windows to keep Mosquitoes out😊🙏🏻🇺🇸
There are not many mosquitoes here, fortunately 😊
🎉🎉🎉 good
🎉🎉🎉 Thanks!
Хороший домик тёплый но очень дорого
в коком месте он теплый.он будет продуваться со всех сторон
Excelente trabalho! Parabéns ! Qual o o preço desta cabana? Só em material ?
3000 EUR so material
Hello, how are you going, friend? congratulations on the work. Just a question, how much battery did you use for a day of work? ex: Makita 5 ah two batteries..
It depends on the machine I use. I have three 5 mAh batteries and they give me enough to work for about 3 hours uninterrupted. Fortunately, not all the work is cutting or sanding, the main thing is moving things from point A to point B and from B to C🤣.
Where do you get all your lumber? What is the actual cost (relistically) of the cabin. I know how much screws cost, & you use a lot. Maby they fall off of trees where you live, but in the usa they are expensive.
A box of 500 screws costs between 20 and 30 euros. This cabin will be able to carry about 2500 screws, so the cost does not reach 120 euros. I buy the wood directly from the local sawmill, which provides me with raw (unsanded) wood. In the US it is common to see videos that buy wood in carpentry, and not in sawmills, which easily doubles or triples its cost. The wood pillars I obtained from my land, that I have many acacia trees. The windows and door are recycled, that is, they have not cost anything. If I had to buy them, their price would probably be 500 or 600 euros. The most "expensive" part of the cabin is probably the sheet metal on the roof, because this material is not produced on the island. Also, since the island is small, the transport of the materials is free. If the cost surprises you, try using recycled components, and buy local materials.
❤❤❤
Gran trabajo. ¿Qué tipo de madera es?
Madera de cedro japonés! Tienes algunos detalles de la cabaña en la descripción del vídeo. Gracias por el comentario.
수많은 영상중에 화장실 만드는 장면은 없다.
In the final of the video, you have some photos. Also in my series "Off Grid Cabin Diary" you have videos about bath build.
Did you have to purchase the land for that amount, or how did that work?
I built this cabin for a friend.
Is that all cedar or something else, looks great, just wondering, thank you, that would probably closer to 10,000 here in Alaska lol
The cabin is built with Japanese cedar wood, most raw. Windows, doors, handwork and pillars were free!
@@WildGnomos that’s awesome, I have a mill and I saw that beautiful cedar, I love it Great work
@@jamesseltenreich652 Nice!
for wood with no insulation, vapor-permeable cotton wool could have been used, with this material, fungus occurs in the wood due to the sealing of the vapor. Better dimensioning of the building would have resulted in less waste and less costs
I built the cabin for a friend. He select the shape and dimensions of the cabin. Also I am not a professional!
@@WildGnomos thank you for your respectful reply, I wish you more happy work
