well that's a fact, that's that side of SOAD that people who don't know them ignore completely, thinking they're just some random dudes screaming. this song really touched my soul the first time i listened to it, even though it's a "easy" song that's pretty clear to understand. It always makes me shake a bit, making me feel like i'm falling gently in a deep abyss, in a calm and warm way. a friend of mine suggested me this, saying he thought i would have "feel it completely as something i lived" and he said this was probably the only 'love song' he would ever dedicate to someone he loves.
now i understand why he dedicated it to me lol the dude know me so well
This having been one of my favorite songs by them, I am extremely grateful for Daron saying what he said at the beginning of this video. But I watched an interview with John Dolmayan where he gives a little insight into System. He says that they intentionally don't like to give away song meanings because they like to see people try to figure it out for themselves, sometimes the songs have a deeply personal meaning, and people may draw different meanings from a song and they don't want to take that away. I think Radio/Video is a great example. I remember trying to look up the song's meaning and people had many different ideas about its meaning, but none of them had it "right" (which I put in quotations because they still don't want to take away a listener's meaning). Daron said (it was after this concert sometime, but I don't know what year) it was really about the actual story of a place he would visit growing up that would let him listen to music and watch music videos I believe. It might have been during an interview about Scars on Broadway now that I think about it. But yeah, I hope this provides some insight!

I like to think this song is about the person's solitude and coping with them being their own company. "I know how i feel when im around you, I dont know how i feel when I'm around you" is them not sure about how they feel about themselves. What makes this better is that the song literally feels like having an existential crisis when you're left alone with yourself for too long and you can't even process your own emotions anymore.
Serj is still a phenomenal singer, and he and Daron complement each other so well.

maybe because that solo involves like two guitars + the background guitar
it sucks, because he could use a loop pedal, or a recording for the background while he plays the solo, or hell, an additional guitarist. and he could add echo effects to the solo =/

@@sickdream4067 system likes to cut parts of songs as well in order to play more of their discography, I guess roulette’s solo is one of many parts of songs that always get cut out. I also don’t think Daron would need or want a loop pedal and stuff, it’s cool but he doesn’t really do that kind of stuff. If they did play Roulette’s solo then it wouldn’t be too hard for Daron to just play the first harmony of the solo, he’s definitely capable of making it work.
