Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, is taking part in the development of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) BharatBenz trucks. The medium-duty BharatBenz trucks is commercially available through a growing number of state-of-the-art dealerships in India.
The 9-ton and 12-ton trucks are based on Daimler Trucks technical platform - Fuso Fighter medium-duty truck on the chassis and the Canter light-duty truck on the cabin. The all-new medium-duty BharatBenz trucks bring at least 10% more fuel efficiency than a comparable product in the market and are suitable for a wide range of applications. The vehicles, which are used primarily for distribution (914R/1214R) and construction (1217C), come with a 100 kW (136 PS) or 120 kW (170 PS) engine output respectively.
三菱ふそうトラック・バス株式会社は、ダイムラー社100%子会社のDaimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV)社に対し、車両の開発および生産のサポートを行っており、DICV社製バーラト・ベンツ トラックは、MFTBCの小型トラック「キャンター」の運転席および中型トラック「ファイター」の足回りを活用したものです。
同車両は、4D34型4気筒ディーゼルエンジンを搭載。車両総重量9トン（エンジン出力：100kW）の914Rモデルおよび、車両総重量12トン（エンジン出力：125kW）の1214Rモデルおよび1217Cモデル（建設仕様）の3機種で構成され、インド市場において、同クラスの車両より10%以上燃費を改善しています。
