Fun fact: The people crying about this cover sounding stylistically different from the original are the same people who cry about covers that sound identical to the original.
There's an interview with Shavo about this. When SOAD first preformed this, it was when they opened for Black Sabbath in Birmingham before Toxicity was a thing. Bill Ward came to their dressing room and told them to preform it. They all said that they wouldn't do it unless the rest of Black Sabbath did it with them. And Ozzy sang it with them and it gave everyone chills
The great thing about Sabbath and SOAD is that neither of them sounded like anyone that came before them. They have their own unique style. That style difference is very clear in this song. Both are great.
Both versions are wonderful. Different bands. Different eras. Different audiences. Black Sabbath was selling albums to teens too, just so y'know ... SOAD (and Sabbath) is the shit.

This is brilliant! this is how a cover should be done... keep the essence of your bands originality and style and a worthy tribute to the greatness of the original.
Everyone debating which is better, this or the original. It's the same thing with Tool and No Quarter. Like they're basically two different songs. People like them for different reasons, there's really no reason to compare which one is better. Just fuckin enjoy the experience.
I dont understand why people allways spent time discussing If original or cover version is better. Soad made this cover as part of a tribute album to Black Sabbath. You all should respect both bands, as well as they respect each other. I've been listening to Black Sabbath's discography to its depth because I only knew some of theirs best songs and I felt I was missing on some good stuff. When I heared Snowblind I got that feeling that I already knew it, but not that version. I FKN LOVED it anyway. I tought for a long time that this song was original from System, that shows how they were able to cover it keeping the soul of the song, while giving their own style to it. This is a VERY good cover! It differs from the original in a way that it's still the same song, but DEFINITELY is not a COPY, but rather SoaD doing a cover and adding their own SaoD feel! I love it when bands are able to do that, and this one of the best examples!
