What did you get?
It is glutinous. NOT gluttonous. The author was exaggerating how sticky and gluey the Fantail sweets were to the teeth that it could prevent the mouth from opening.
Gluttonous means greedy. So saying overindulging the sweets is a wrong analysis. This can make you lose points as it shows you don't know the meaning of glutinous and wrong interpretation of what the author meant.

In question 3 about source A, could you link the semantic field of war to the context of the author growing up?
Yes but if you do mention semantic field of war - it's to do with the way the children were playing in the cinema. Make sure you don't misinterpret it as this connoting a sinister meaning 😊

Hi, what grade would you say your model answers would be awarded in an exam? I need at least a grade 6 and i was wondering if I wrote answers to that standard in the exam, would I be able to achieve this?
i don't think her cheap use of english responses are capable of getting even grade 5 which i am aiming for. despite her being an english teacher and taking so long to write a cheap response

When we are in the exam hall, and were doing the Q.4 are we to write as many as those paragraphs. Or are we to write what we can due to time ?
I think it’s like 3-4 paragraphs for question 4. But honestly for the whole English language GCSEs don’t worry about paragraphs too much. It’s more about the content, for example in paper 2 question 3 you have to try write as much as you can in 13 minutes, that should be 3 paragraphs just to be safe but if you can only do 2 well written paragraphs loaded with good information then do that. It’s better than waffling just to push it to 3 paragraphs

Never in the mark schemes for questions 1 to 4 does it express to use sophisticated vocabulary but rather be "perceptive, detailed" and etc which is what she has shown. Only in question 5 is when you do have to use sophisticated vocabulary to get higher marks.
