How I loved this man. I was inactive when he died and his very spirit emanated from his funeral (on TV no less) and put my wife and I in tears. We came back and never left.....we're now temple workers at the St George Temple. God is Great!

I am not Mormon, but live among them in Utah. I have nothing but good to say about president Gordon B. Hinckley. I met him in person and something about him is very strange and mysterious (in a good way). He truly was an extraordinary person, I have since then spoken highly of him and his faith.

I have been inactive for well over 2 years. I finally started back to church because of the faith of my husband who is a convert. He never stopped attending, he patiently waited for me to get it together. After 3 weeks of attendance- I felt the spirit rest upon my soul. Thankfully! i LOVE President Hinkley with all my heart. he was a Prophet called for our days.

I was a new member in the Church during his Presidency. God himself told me that Joseph Smith restored the Church, and that Gordon B Hinckley was now the Prophet of it. I sat 100 feet away from him in the the newly completed Salt Lake Conference Center during a general youth conference when he stopped speaking and announced that he would now pray from the youth of the Church. The Spirit felt like warm rain on all attending as we bowed our heads with him. A great man, chosen of God as a Prophet.

Its amazing to me that as a 94 year old prophet, he says that his testimony is continually strengthened by reading the scriptures. it just shows you that the daily study of God's word is so important.

thank you so much for this! I was inactive since Pres. Kimball passed...2 years ago I was doing some homework and came across your video, it brought tears to my eyes. I was in need of many things and this found me. I was in the middle a divorce and raising 2 young men alone. this prompted me to pray that night, and I was at church with my boys that Sunday. they were baptized a month later and we have been there since. I have gone to do my endowments and though I am a single mom I am NOT alone.

I love this man, my prophet, beyond of what my words can say. He passed away a couple of hours later of what would be my second baptism in the church. I was redeemed under his legacy by the holy Grace of my Redeemer, my Savior Jesus the Christ.
When I leave this world I will see him, and thank him for all that he did to bring the sheep back to the fold.
I was given a second chance, the road hasn't been easy there has been too many road blocks, but I have seen miracles, and I have seen and recognized the hand of my Savior behind every blessing.
I know without a doubt that this is the true and restored church of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I am a convert to the Church, I have been to a lot of other churches in my life but never have I felt that warmth and peace as I do not only in the temple but even when I heard this man's voice at conference. Never have I experienced such a small weak man deliver the amazing power of the truth of the gospel as did this man, this man truly was a man of god and you need to only listen to his voice to believe it. I TRULY miss him and the peaceful presence he commanded.

I realize it is listed in the norms of the Christian faith as a 'cult'. But...I believe this dear man Hinckley was a good, decent, kind man. I'm very moved when I listen to him speak. May our preicious Lord Jesus be merciful to him when he stands before God in the latter days and give an account of his stewardhip.

That brief pause he made before tearing up; man, picture serving a mission at 20 years old, then decades later visiting that same country again at 94 years old. All those years suddenly shrink together and the end of one's mortal life seems to feel closer. I will always love the Mexican people, where I served my mission, I can definitely vouch for Pres. Hinckley the emotions you feel about the people you served. It seemed he was ready to go back home into the next life, but once again feeling as though he was leaving home.

he was one of the nicest men I knew...

While I appreciate the blessings of such innovative thinking, I hope to never under-appreciate the profound power of God's pure love. “Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat, and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light; and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine. A piece of something resembling parchment would appear, and on that appeared the writing. One character at a time would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English. Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery, who was his principal scribe, and when it was written down and repeated to Brother Joseph to see if it was correct, then it would disappear, and another character with the interpretation would appear. Thus the Book of Mormon was translated by the gift and power of God, and not by any power of man.” (David Whitmer, An Address to All Believers in Christ, Richmond, Mo.: n.p., 1887, p. 12.)

The sad part is the people that dislike this video i'd say are self proclaimed loving Christians.
What is the purpose of disliking a testimony like this?

I am so grateful for President Hinckley and all that he taught and testified of. I know that he was the Lords mouth piece here upon the earth. He was a Disiple of Christ always teaching with love and kindness. Thank you President Hinkley for all you did,amd thank you John for posting this

2/2 I talked to one of the members later (someone who was raised in the church & had been on a mission) & he said that, from what he could gather of the couple, the guy is from an organization that has a goal of trying to bring people from the church, & his girlfriend was an inactive member with a shattered testimony. Sad, but true. I'm happy to say, for me, though, that it's been nearly 2 years since my baptism & I'm still very much active. I even went on a YSA trip to Palmyra last month! :)

President Hinckley was such a great man. I miss him. I wish I would have listened to him better when I was a teenager.

I confess that when i got received my mission papers signed by the new prophet in 1995, I was a bit frustrated. But with time, I learned to love this man and his teachings. He was a true example of love and service. Today, over 20 years have passed since then, and I finally requested my line of authority and great was my joy to find that Pres. Hinckley is part of it. Truly and example of life!

One of the great testimonies that Jesus is in fact, the Christ, the great redeemer and emancipator of us all. My heart and mind are of one accord: Gordon B. Hinckley lived a life of selfless service, determination and destination. I always felt as though he was talking with me - I mean in a very personal, individual way. What he bore witness to has always made sense to me. As importantly, I was given my own special witness. I am, and shall always be, grateful for his earthly sojourn.
