Do you have any video about descaling a dishwasher?
Please put one.
Hi Archana, this video on cleaning a dishwasher covers that topic too czcams.com/video/Zel7U2U2TAE/video.html. Bit old video, but still relevant.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
What about the Annual maintenance cost that few users are paying for brands like Bosch and IFB. If you can give details on this, it will be helpful
This is a very helpful video! Tbh and fair, maids also cost just as much and if family members together contribute towards chores then appliances make sense. Im all for digitizing homes with good quality appliances and with least human interactions :)
The only disadvantage of an appliance such as a dishwasher is that most folks are used to outsourcing to a maid who not only does the dishes but also puts them away and in dishwasher you have to load, unload and stack them back.
Kindly share which type of electric motor is used in Voltas-BEKO dishwashers.
Madam upload a video on mini cycle in voltas beko dishwasher..is that mode suitable for daily use if we soak and rinse before starting dishwasher cycle..
Wow.... Thank you so much! I so much wanted to know about the monthly expenses if I used dish washer. Very well explained!! 👍👍👌👌
Thank you Madhavi, glad you found it informative! 😁
Thanks
Welcome!

Thanks for detailed explaination.
One question: the cost that you have shared depends upon using dishwasher once a day or two times a day?
For how long, you let the dishwasher running in one time, is it one hour? According to some videos, sometimes utensils don't get clean properly in one hour so may require to run for 2 hours at one go, that would change electricity cost, please help with your experience on it.
Which dishwasher do you use (in this video)?
Hi Parteek Dhawan! It's per use of the dishwasher, once a day. And I've taken the consumption per cycle - so even if the cycle takes let's say 2 hours or 2.5 hours, the electric and water consumption is for that full cycle.
Very informative. a little smile would go a long way😀 Thanks for answering doubts which no one else addressed💕
Haha thank you for the feedback! I’ve been told about the smile, maybe I’ll get used to it as I make more videos 😁😊

Hi Utpal! Thank you 😊 Are you using a dishwasher? Howz your experience?
Useful information.. I am using for past 12 years. I feel those who can afford should go ahead and purchase one. Whenever the maid takes days off this dishwasher is really useful.
Wow, 12 years! You must be one of the first few in India to use it. 😊
Thanks for making a video on this topic.
What about the service/maintenance charges for the dishwasher that you're using and availability of spare parts just in case if required.
Hi! It's been over 2 years, no service is required so far. Regular maintenance includes descaling the dishwasher frequently.
@@TheGrapevineIndia Thanks for quick reply.
Nice info. 👍
Thanks Vijaya!
Strongly agree, the most painful household task for me too washing dishes. Can you please guide me in electricity consumption in the clean and shine program which runs for one and half hour?
Hi Bumoni, which brand?
@@TheGrapevineIndiaHi
Its voltas beko. Even I need to know can I keep the dishes to be washed few hours before?
Hey Soumya, Good video ... btw what's the Cost sweetspot will you recommend to trade-off & decide whether to invest in buying a dishwasher along with monthly cost vs cost of hiring a maid (now, maids are available for approx 1k/mo for dish washing)? ................. Also, we should account for the manual cost of approx 10-15 minutes every day to load/unload the dishes from dishwasher.
Hi Suchi! I think more than the cost it is the convenience. For a tier 1 city, the monthly cost is almost same as you would pay a maid for dishwashing. Then you have to apportion the cost of your upfront investment. If you automate completely with this and a robot vacuum cleaner - your upfront investment could be around 60k. If you are paying a maid 3k per month - you will recover your costs in little over 2 years (also considering the running costs)
Can we use dishwasher without all consumables.. Rinse aid detergent and salt,, just to sanitise the vessels only
You look beautiful. Thanks for the vital information
Thank you Sherin!
Hi, just purchased Faber dishwasher… I was told by dealers not to use Dishwasher more than once or twice a day.. can you please confirm if it’s true and also how many times do you use it a day ?
Ma'am, could you kindly post an installation & instructions video for LG DISHWASHER please,if already posted then kindly share link
Hi Ajay, I don't have an LG dishwasher - but, the initial prerequisites for all dishwashers is the same. You can find that in this video. czcams.com/video/bvs1-WTz6zc/video.html (sorry about bad audio quality, was my first video :))

Can you please tell me whether Faber 12 place setting dishwasher has auto-resume option due to electricity interruption.
Hi, it resumes at the start of the last cycle. For example, if it is in the rinse cycle - it will start at the start of that. I have a small video that covers that.
Would like to know review of natural dishwasher tablets like purecult, Better home etc.. and how do White vinegar works as rinse aid.
Hi Nithyambikai, I have not tried vinegar and in general it is not recommended by brands. Some people use water instead of rinse aid - limits drying but they prefer it. About the natural tablets from purecult - it is not as effective.
Hi!
I think LG has launched their dishwashers as well. I saw it on their website more than 1 year back.
Hi! Yes they did, but many viewers have reported issues with overheating.
Hi Soumya.. superb content n presentation is perfect.. watched quite a few videos.. on robovaccum n dishwasher.. for a family of 3 , if i have to use dishwasher only once.. which one wud u recommend.. 12 place or 14 place?
Hi Rupa- 14 would be most convenient (I use 14 for 2 people and wash once a day too) I know people with similar family size who have 12 too, some of them think they could have gone for 14 after using it. At the end of the day, it depends on your vessel usage as well. Mine does get quite full.
@@TheGrapevineIndia thanks a lot.. mine also does get full.. but after seeing ur other videos looks like i need to change quite a few vessels in my kitchen before buying a dishwasher😀
Haha you can do it over time. Immediately it will reduce majority of washing work 😅
Hi Soumya, informative video, thanks for sharing. I recently purchased Faber one and I was provided starter kit by the technician, so Faber rinse aid and salt is added to the dishwasher. Wanted to check if I can use Finish detergent in the dishwasher along with Faber rinse aid and salt. Hope this will not harm the dishwasher
Hi Hema, that should not be an issue at all from a machine pointof view. You may need to experiment with a few different detergent, salt and rinse aid till you figure a combination that works best for you. For me - all finish ones work best.
As all the dishwashers in the world follow the basic principles laid down by European Union and USA, every dishwasher will accept and salt/rinse aid/detergent from any manufacturer. As suggested by Saumya Ji, you have to experiment with salt/rinse aid/detergent, to workout the best combination. Apart from Finish and Vim, i have used Fortune products. Finish has been market leader, in almost all the countries and is a well established brand. Fortune products are lowest priced and are very good at cleaning the utensils. I am regularly using Fortune products (Detergent/Salt/Rinse Aid/tablet) for more than 20 months with great results.
Why not use the Finish capsules. Self contained, no need to add the ingredients separately.
@@adithyavasudevan4036 (1) as good tablets range between 25/- to 40/-, cleaning utensils with tablet is expensive. (2) detergent costs hardly 2/- to 4/- per wash. As such you save 21/- per wash. In one month, you save 630/-. In one year you save 7560/-. Dishwashers easily last for more than 12 years, as such in 12 years you save 90720/-. If you add interest earned on the saved money, it is around 100000/- (3) For small cycles, you need around 6 grams of detergent. If you are using tablet then dishwashers are unable to remove all the detergent in short cycles. (4) sensor based Dishwashers extend washing time to get rid of excess detergent, consuming more electricity and taking longer time to clean. Saving 100000/- is still a big incentive.
Hi useful video 👍- Needed your inputs , we are a family of 5 and have 2 sets of meals cooked in a day home with a lot of vessels , living in mumbai where the Unit consumption fr electricity is Rs 10 per unit , what according to you would be the approx Electricity output I would need to spend and which machine in capacity would you recommend ! Thanks in Advance
Hi Jay - I would think a single load would be enough per day if you go for a 14 or 15 place setting dishwasher. The energy consumption is generally around 1.3kwh for the auto mode of operation - so your monthly electricity cost will come to close to Rs. 390. If you run more loads a day - would go up proportionally.
How do you know which detergent suits your dishwasher and to your water hardness
Hi Pallavi, most dishwashers support upto 900ppm water hardness (except LG I think). If your water hardness level is higher, then you need an additional water softener.
whats rhe difference between mega xxl and xxxl finish dishwashers table
Hi @Rusty 2k, not sure about mega xxl and xxxl - it just seems to be the number of tabs in the pack.
While the manufacturers say we don’t need rinse aid and salt, I do see deteriorated performance when not used with tablets. So yes, you would need to use both even if you are using tablet - specifically if you have hard water in your area.
buying a dishwasher may have made your life a bit better. but there are a few things I will mention you here. 1. buying a dishwasher you are eating one man's job.2. secondly the power consumption that you are comes from the highly polluting coal based power.3. you are feeding the wealthy cos. in the process, spending around a 1000/- per month and the depriciating cost of the machine will cost you around 500/- + per month considering the life of machine to five years. on top of it you have to give your at least two hours of time every day, right from rinsing the utensils to putting them in the dishwasher, to thn taking out them and putting them in their respective places.
What will be requirement of salt in case of very hard water of dishwasher set @ maximum hardness settings? If used twice a day?
Hi Neha - it is difficult to say, if it is consuming too much salt - perhaps the hardness level of your water is quite high. I recommend checking your hardness level and talking with the voltas technician to determine if you need an external water softener
Very helpful vid. Pls mention how much did u buy yr faber dishwasher. How many thousands, twenty thousand or at what price?
Hi Anna, thanks for writing in. I bought mine right after lockdown opened up, so paid about 41k. Right now the same model is at 45k.

Whiich brand dishwasher do you use.
And if its a family of 5 to 6 ppl with small kids which plate capacity would I need.
Hi - I use this one amzn.to/3r6MfpK. You should get atleast 14 or 15 place setting.

My only concern r some reviews which says they dont give good service.
Kindly tell will it useful for nuclear family where I have habit to use a single utensil fir many times after washing it again n again
Hi Anjali! If you need to use the same vessels after washing again and again during the same cooking cycle - then it may not be useful. Normally a dishwasher is useful to bulk wash a number of dishes.
Using midea dishwasher two times a day full load 470 fortune dishwasher combo last 1.5 month so 320 min detergent etc expense 500 RS dishwasher monthly installment 600 electricity and 100 water
Total 320+500+600+100= 1520 for daily two loads

Hi. Thank you for all the videos related to Dishwashers. They are very helpful. Hate to point it out but I think the calculation for dishwasher salt is incorrect. 250gm in 2 weeks = 2kg in 4 months = Rs. 83/month...
Oops! Thanks for pointing it out. I agree, somehow miscalculated. Salt is a minor component- so I’m glad minimum impact due to this miscalculation 😌
If the water is not hard, for example, Cauvery water, do we still need to use salt and/or rinse aid?
Hi Binu, the dishwasher will throw up an indicator if its not added. You can add and set it to the lowest level.
What is dishwasher salt, I have not heard of it in Canada
Hi Batool, its normally used when you have hard water to soften the water for dishwasher use.
Thanks 💚.

Hi mam,
I just want to ask while running dishwasher need water continusly??? Or there is any storage space so we can add water before it starts??
Hi Yogesh, yes it needs running water
Hii...saumya..i really liked all your videos and found to be quite informative for dishwasher related information.
Recently i also bought voltas df15a .
Tds in my area is on harder side i mean more than 800 ppm.
So i filled salt for the very first time in salt dispenser around 1.5 kg and it last for only 6days..
Is it normal ?? I am doubting how its possible when I am usi g only one time a day...can you tell whats your opinion on this
Is it normal ??
Hi Sweety, the first time it does take almost 1.5-2 kgs. But that should reduce subsequently. However, since you TDS is quite high, you may need to set your salt setting to high - which means salt consumption should be higher than normal. Try for the next few times and if it consumes as much - you should check with Voltas once.
@@TheGrapevineIndia I am also using Voltas Beko (DF 14S2) , Volts use lesser salt band Rinse Aid than other dishwashers (I have returned LG after 15 months). Try to set salt at level 2. If it does cnot help try to raise the salt setting to 3. At level 2, salt in my dishwasher lasts for 25-30 days, with one wash a day.
I am also facing the same issue. within 20 days, 2kg salt was consumed. I have already used around 3kg salt till now in a span of 1 month with the same dishwasher model. Did you get any resolution from voltas service?
@@irfanrafeeq88 they have well learned one and only reply "water tds is very high madam" they can't anything for this..
Now i am using since last 6 months now.. and using almost 4 kg salt per month on an average and using dishwasher once in day.
They keep on insisting to put external water filter for dishwasher.
@@sweetyjain6075 In that case, I guess its just better to use a tablet without using additional salt/rinse aid right? Not sure if voltas service will even offer a refund. I did raise a support issue and the technician over the phone says your water hardness is high because you are using bore water and thats why we cant help you. I have another bosch dishwasher with the same water hardness levels set but it takes 1 kg per month only. This is ridiculous.
Did you ever try using "Fortune dishwasher detergent". How good it is compared to finish?
Hi Yeshwanth, I have not, but many of the viewers on this channel have tried it and they are happy with it.
For almost 2 years, I have been using only Fortune Detergent, which is very good and most economical.
Thanks for the useful video. We recently bought Bosch dishwasher. The technician who came for the installation warned us not to buy Finish products online (Amazon/Flipkart) as they might not be original. Where do you buy them from? Is there any reliable seller online? Can you post the link?
Hi Bithika, always take what technician says with a grain of salt :) I buy it on Amazon, been using this for a while now amzn.to/3Hi2h5W
Thanks a lot!
We have been using the Seimens Dishwasher since July 2015 and found it to be better than a Maid Cleaning the Utensils.
The Best Part is the Hygiene factor which is missing in cleaning by hands.
Absolutely!
I purchased a starter pack of a combination of salt, rinse aid and detergent for about ₹450 of fortune brand. Two months have gone by with a single wash everyday and the pack is not yet over. I estimate it to last 3 months which is ₹150 per month for the ingredients...
Electricity usage is also estimated at around 25 units per month costing ₹150...Thus my operating costs are limited to ₹300 per month.
Yes, we are fortunate to have very soft water in Trivandrum...
Thanks for sharing, Abraham!
@@TheGrapevineIndia More information... I used an energy meter to determine the energy consumed per wash in a half load mode of the eco cycle... The energy consumption was only 0.58 unit per cycle...
We regularly use the half load mode even with the dishwasher full... Wash quality is practically the same... (in Voltas beko df14w, you can load both top and bottom rack even in half load mode)....
I am a retired guy with plenty of time for such investigation...
Sadly the customer service of Voltas beko could not answer my questions and so I had to do experimentation myself to find out data which they should have provided in the manual itself...

Hi world of Kaysha_cherrybliss! That is unusual. It is unlikely because of this as it uses about 1KWH depending on cycle you use. You should consider getting a smart plug where you can measure where that increase is coming from.
Which is better Voltas beko or midea
Hi, have not evaluated Midea. Voltas beko is good for small spaces. For free standing, can consider better options.
What is best mode to run dishwasher
Hi Sudhakar, most often auto mode or eco mode is good.
Hii. I m living in mumbai.. Planning to buy voltas beko dishwasher.. Here in Mumbai water is soft. Should I still use salt????
Hi Nusrat, you can add the dishwasher salt and set it to the lowest setting.
I would like to kn , If u really need A rinse Aid & Salt when Ur using Finish Tablet in dishwasher .. I hv Table top Dishwasher & using only Tablets for A Yr now .. plz let kn .. Thanks .
Hi, if you are not getting an alert it is fine. I normally would add it as it gives me an alert.
This is assuming you run the dishwasher once every day right?
Hi Rustam - yes.
Do you think it will fit under the kitchen sink ?
Hi Shaswati, mostly likely not - depending on the version you plan to buy. It would be best to check the measurements - a full sized dishwasher is approx 60cm x 60 cm x 60cm. And a tabletop is slightly smaller in width and depth but about 20cm smaller in height. Unless there was a provision made under your kitchen sink for a dishwasher, it may not fit.
250gm salt per week makes 500gm per month. 2kg lasts for 4 months and hence monthly cost comes to 83 and not 42

Hi andi how much power bill for dishwasher if I use twice a day
Hi Rama! It will use around 1kwh per cycle. So if the price in your area is about Rs. 7 per kwh, then Rs. 7 per cycle or Rs. 14 for 2 cycles. That comes to about Rs. 420 for the month. You will need to identify the power rate in your area from your electricity bill.

Hi My Consumption of Salt is 4 Kg in Month ...I use full load daily ...is their any setting issue ( LG Dishwasher ) ...Water in my area is soft ...Pls guide why so high consumption of salt ?
Hi Niteesh, what is your salt setting? If set to max, it will consume max as well. Even with max setting, 4 kgs is too high.
Before buying Voltas dishwasher, I have used LG for more than a year. Test the water hardness with TDS tester, which you can buy from Amazon for 250/- or 300/-. If it is not possible, call your RO technician to test the water hardness or RO water. for 500 TFDS, LG will soften water at salt setting 2. Page 19 of the LG dishwasher manual has necessary instructions about salt setting. If you have connected LG with your cell phone, you can change the salt setting from cell phone. Salt setting at 2 handles most of the water hardness problems. You can test setting 2 then can reduce or increase the setting. At setting 2, salt in LG lasts for 27-30 days.
How much water was consumed during single wash?
Hi, depends on the cycle but between 10-15 liters.
Usage of the Salt depends on the Hardness of the Water in each area
Yes!
bosch dishwashers are the best. my friend has ifb & he complaints about bad quality wash.
Hi Arvind, thanks for sharing your feedback.
Any how the maid take 1000bugs for the work so it's better than the clutter n mess.. And u don't have to wait for maid to. Clean it.. 😇
Haha that’s totally true!
Hello mam, We recently bought Bosch dishwasher. First month it worked like a charm. Afterwards in our apartment we got water issues. Now daily we are having tankers. As tankers are coming daily, everyday tds is different. Due to daily change in tds I am taking tds measurement and then according to the table putting the settings.
Despite of doing this I am facing white patch issues over the utensils. These white patches are not coming on every utensils, mostly on large bowls and specially the ones which I bought from IKEA( dishwasher safe)
I tried tablet as well but not much results. Used finish tablets and detergent.
Bosch engineer says as the tds changing frequently, settings to be in effect takes few wash cycle to happen ( not sure if this is true) and asking me to put the external water softener. I am confused now, as the TDS range is with in the max capacity of dishwasher machine. Till now it went max up to 555 TDS.
Even though if I put external softener, tds of water will be same. Its not going to change, it's just water will be soft. With external water softener what settings I should do for dishwasher.
I have tried almost everything from changing the settings to changing the detergent or tabs. Kindly help me understanding the solution. Is the external water softener is only solution to my specific issue.
Kindly help me mam.
Waiting for your response.
Hi Deepender - I don’t believe you need a water softener for a tds of 555. I recommend you try to set the salt level to max and try for a few cycles. Also try to run a cleaning and descaling of your dishwasher periodically
