Yes I didn´t expect LaVey to be so meek. If I was in his shoes, in that situation, I would have asked the host whether he had invited me to understand me or to ridicule me. Then if he didn´t stop trying to ridicule me, I would stand up, I would spit on his face, turn my back and walk away.

So? Did LaVey have to prove something to a man who wasn´t interested in his beliefs in the first place or to his laughing audience? So many times during this interview where I shouted "LET THE MAN SPEAK FOR FUCKS SAKE!". He asked him a question and when LaVey was about to answer he interrupted him. Pisses me off how disrespectful some people are...
I am a Christian,and I certainly do not believe in treating someone that way. La Vey was very kind and calm. We all chose our own paths, he chooses the Devil, I choose Jesus. In the end we will find out the truth, won't we? I wish no ill will towards those who do not believe as I do, we will all be held accountable in the end.

This interview took place sometime probably in the late 1960’s. Despite the jeering and bullying behaviors that the interviewer exhibited, Rev. Anton LaVey kept his cool and stayed calm, and even laughed with him. We do not condone bullying behaviors simply because of differences in belief. Much credit to Rev. LaVey’s handling of the situation. A good example of Satanic composure. 🔥🤘

I am an atheist, so to me, worshiping anything is just silly. But I have to admit that Anton LaVey seems to be a very likeable, benevolent person. He is actually way nicer, with a better sense humor, than many Christians I've met. I had always been led to believe that he was a monster, but in this video, he had one of the friendliest smiles I've ever seen, and even talked about how he told little children that his ring would grant them wishes. What kind of monster would say that? Come on... Just because he disagrees with your beliefs doesn't make him an evil person. He very obviously isn't one.

It's highly irritating and disrespectful how the interviewer is cutting him off and making fun of him for lack of a better word simply because he doesn't agree with his views. Anton handled this incredibly respectfully and poised. A journalist's job description is to be unbiased and to ask questions and RESPECTFULLY allow the guest to answer. Question: Why does the other belief systems have a quest to make mankind God and the Bible claims the exact opposite...God becoming a member of mankind to have a relationship with us? the bible is the ONLY so called "religion" to claim that kind of humbleness of God... or of any being given the title of god.
2. This BS about going to Hell for eternity is Tradition too. The Bible says Hell/Hades is a TEMPORARY place of dwelling for souls while this Plan of relationships and fixing corruption gets fulfilled. Luke 16: 19-31 the bible claims Hell/Hades has three parts... check it out.
The Lake of Fire is NOT in Hell either. Rev 20: 14-15 Hell/Hades gets thrown INTO the lake of fire at the "end" along with the process of Death (science calls this process Entropy). So this tradition of hell being permanent and that's were only "bad" people go forever is Fake (Hell has three temporary parts) btw: Jesus calls the Lake of Fire by the phrase the Outer Darkness. different location from hell altogether.
Plus many many more traditions of mans design thrown into the mix of what the bible actually claims.The work of mankind's broken hands yet breaks another thing. How can something imperfect ever build anything perfect?

I love how conservative the reporter is in the interview. How loose he is with his "humor" and the directly aggressive comments and barbed one liners. How refreshing.
It says a lot how graciously he dealt with this sad excuse for a human who was the host. The host showed that he was more evil than Anton could ever be.
I just re-watched this; the interview was hilarious; it was light-hearted. I would crushed Mr. LaVey. He got off lightly here.

it's not very hard to imagine why he doesn't appear on film or television much. the people who are supposed to be making intelligent conversation and revealing the facts, are really just badgering and poking fun at the way this man is different. It really struck me to see a televised announcer truly show what most people thought of satanism at the time. But stereotypes are prevalent in everything... sometimes the mold has to be broken, remolded and turned into something everyone can appreciate.
Whatever your personal beliefs may be, you have to admit, Anton fucking owned this interview. That prick kept trying to nudge and heckle and he just kept his cool, laughed at his stupid ill-informed jokes and kept it together. Way to be awesome Dirty Pope!

I am not a Satanist. I will never be. I have looked into it deeply. My sister is a witch. I choose God. Although I like to learn. I would have had someone else give this interview. This guy didn't allow any education to occur. You can learn things from all people if you give them a chance. Don't have to become best friends or believe in the same things just to learn.

Satanists everywhere should be noted for honesty and respect. We are NOT devil worshipers, those are called Lucifarians. Satanism is completely different because we believe that our body is our god, what we want to do and who we want to do is perfectly fine if it is fine with ourselves.

I am NOT a converter. I actually HATE people trying to tell me what to believe. I can assure you I was a staunch atheist for years, before I met her. Her cover name was Jean; her real name was Emma. We were in love. She wanted out, and I tried my best, but she was killed. It's like a mafia: Somewhat easy to join (with connections); almost impossible to leave. Such a long story man. But no one converted me; I realized what was real. I saw it.

Joe Pyne was being rude to LaVey because he was scared of him. Marilyn Manson even went on to say the same thing about the Jews and Jesus.

"the devil" in reference to him more so as a character in a book. Similar to if one said, "why doesn't anyone defend the Green Goblin?". That's not to say that person believes that character exists.

i was deeply touched, first by the complete lack of shit that anton gave about being mocked (showing an absence of ego which any buddhist would commend highly) and secondly by the non satanists who commented that it was unfair how he was treated despite his beliefs. in fact if you guys looked into it thats actually very satanist of you.
