What if an adult found a golden ticket? I like how Roald Dahl wrote the story, having children of different personalities and flaws go into the factory, but only one child having the righteous personality that would later allow for him to inherit the factory. But if an adult won and was being tested along with the kids, it would seem odd haha
I mean, seeing how mr. wilkinson was present for every gold ticket found and how wonka inexplicably had rooms specifically catering to one of the bratty kids each, its pretty obvious that the whole thing was staged and wonka knew which kids were going to get the tickets.
