If this game is like Story of Seasons the idea with fertilizer is that you'll make seeds from the leveled up crops, the seeds will inherit the parent crop's boosted value and you can eventually make all your crops super profitable 5 star crops. So fertilizer isn't that useful early in the game, but once you unlock the seed maker it'll become a regular part of your day. Of course, I usually only fertilize one thing from each species, saves money.

But if one seed makes nine crops, then fertilizing one 3×3 square (one sec) makes 9 higher quality crops. A profitable system has to involve at least 2 crops per 1 seed or 1 crop produces 2 seeds. There's no multiplication of the fertilized crops otherwise.

Your draconewt should be able to water crops. (I haven't tried with mine, but as far as I know it should be working). You can access a map by pressing the M key if you're having troubles navigating (I know you had some issues finding the barn). Also, your speed levels up like a skill. So dashing eventuuallllyyy gets faster. The only season we have at the moment is spring. There is someone doing experiments on crop growth at the moment. Should be pretty great when we get the results =). Oh and I second you playing RF4 when it gets released. One of my very favorite games. I highly recommend it.

I just really hope they do something about the planting and harvesting speed.
I'm surprised you can't "charge" the seeds to plant multiple seeds at once.
The Rune Factory Influence is pretty heavy, so hopefully they take a page from their book and do something about that.
I'm sure the monster helpers can be a solution, and Rune Factory had something like that, too, at least in RF4, but just seeing DF doing all this by hand is kinda...
Well, hopefully through the rest of development, they continue to make improvements.

I’d say a 7x7 or 6x6 square on one of the corners would be best. It gets you quite a bit of money while still not being that much of a hassle.

Have you thought about playing some of the classic Harvest Moon games? Like Back to Nature or More Friends of Mineral Town? Both of them are easy to get on emulator and they're still pretty well liked. There's also plenty of story content to make fun of.
Rune Factory.
The reason why they're watered (the crops or plants) is because the rootes find water underground themselves by growing to where there's water, that's why you choose moist dirt or wet dirt when you plant them- because then they can be dependent for a while without you having to water or feed them
Or at least that's the logical way, it could also be a bug (glitch) in the game XD
any games similar to this and stardew valley where you can automate some parts of the farming process (like watering) without the need for mods?

Re:Legend has been in the works for at least.. two? years. I think they're just the 'style' for this genre of game
fair enough~ ive tried portia and yonder- cloud catcher but they all play as an empty shell of a farming simulator/exploring game. same cell shading/graphics, similar font and designs.. i feel like the games are missing something. soul? dunno. replayability is not that high compared to stardew
@@kayy4511 I've played Yonder and I feel like the story was good but the missions rack up too fast. I think I had 29 active missions at one point?
But yeah I get that. At the same time, I don't really mind. The shelly?ness of them makes it easy to kind of.. zone out and relax to play them. but that's me! I like low effort things.
But I think the 'harvest moon' inspired games need to get back to their roots ooooooooooooooooooor try something new.
@@kayy4511 alot of the games in harvest moons genre have little to no replay value, it's just the flaw of the core game mechanic they've copied.(managing the Farm) Harvest moon games usually only had an ingame year or two worth of content put in it too which doesn't help their replay value.
