I have been to Gran Canaria many times over the years, it's almost like a second home and definitely my happy place. Deserves to be in the top 10 winter destinations!
That report is nonsense imo. As you said resorts in Mallorca are closed and the weather is cold in Winter. The weather in Turkey ain’t that great in winter either. Holidays to Egypt have been very cheap, possibly due to the conflicts in ME🤔Thanks for showing Meloneras again Kevin it’s the only place I’d consider going to in GC👍
Absolutely it is maximum 55f in turkey plus a four and a half hour flight if you’re going to mainland Spain you need Costa del sol, it’s the furthest south but nothing beats the canaries in winter Go to Egypt get food poisoning or worse Lanzarote every time it’s pretty much the hottest of the canaries in winter barrring Gran Canaria and slightly less flight time ✈️

Not a chance wee Kevin, all the Canaries are the only place to go for winter sun my own POV of course. Best of all PdI doesn't have Cardiac Hills, unlike Porto Rico 😂
Meloneras is lovely exactly as you described kev, K1 you passed is very nice staff are on it all the time really good, those hotels look amazing expensive but probably worth a stay once in a while and don't forget the bus terminus nearby you can go anywhere.
First ever holiday for me and the missus I took her lopesan with huge lake infinity pool it has featured on many Jet2 adverts had 5 days and spent my birthday there. Was very big busy though a bit of maize in corridors and could take upto 10 minutes to get back in the room great stay though ❤
It’s almost my second home. I have noticed that out of the summer months it’s got a lot quieter, I just thought it was meloneras. If that is accurate I guess it’s because of price. Or they are pushing the slower destination’s. I highly recommend the K1 bar fantastic food and cocktails 🍹
We are going to Melonares in a few weeks,staying in the h10 hotel .Never been Gran Canaria before . Anybody got any recommendations for trips /places to visit ? Picked Melonares on the strength of your and Macmasters previous vlogs there .😁😁👍👍
Hi Kev, no way is Turkey more popular than the Canaries in the winter, I don’t think Turkey has great weather in the winter…and as for Majorca no way would I go there in the winter unless it was a city break in Palma !! 😊
Been to playa del ingles 5 times years ago, but then changed to Tenerife and Lanzarote over the last 10 years. Fancied a change this year so booked Puerto rico , never been there . If you have time could you please look round the hotel Punta del rey? Staying there in june 😎
That top ten is surreal. The real one must be like this: 1. North Korea 2. Yemen 3. Top of Norway 4. The shetlands 5. Antarctica 10. North pole Spain doesn't even pop up.
More across the other side of the hotels (out the front) and some down along the beach front. Not like adeje or los crios but enough to keep you going. I love here, completely chilled out!
Definitely disagree with that report turkey my favourite resort but Its not a winter resort it starts shutting down end of October my top resort in winter is lanzorte cota del menorah looks lovely but I think the hotels are expensive Kevin ❤❤
Continental Europe isn't warm enough to justify winter breaks, even Spain/Turkey. I can believe Egypt in the top ten maybe a few other African countries like Morocco. I think 20 years when the pound was strong southern Florida would have been top ten for winter. All the canaries the best for winter though in my opinion!

Lopesan Villa Conde is fabulous and our friends stay at the H10 just a bit further on. Love Gran Canaria but enjoying Lanzarote at the moment 😎

Personally, I've never been to Turkey but I know people who go regularly because of the price.

Yo Kevin. Amadores beach is about the nicest beach and the walk from pourto Rico beach to amadores is jawdropping.
What's the resort like away from the coastal path? Are there many bars in Meloneras? Looks like the Del Duque of Gran Canaria
