That's why you never see me THROW the dirt. I always place it right beside the hole. The last thing I do is swing over the dirt before filling the hole in.
Wanted to get your opinion on the use of a pinpointer in this type of situation. I use a handheld pinpointer when I get into hard stuff and the target is near. Still looking for my first nugget though so?
Until the Minelab Pro-Find 35 was introduced, with ferrous ID, there was not a pin-pointer sensitive enough to find small gold. When I dig this nugget, all the available pin-pointers on the market would have done me no good. Even when it was out of the hole it would have had to be a sizeable piece. Now with the Pro-Find 35, I do carry that pin-pointer and it does help a bit, but on smaller nuggets 1 pennyweight you still have to be within 2 inches of the target. Larger gold it hits on real well. Now I have also been carrying my Gold Monster on my ATV with 6 inch coil on it. It works very well as a probe in deep holes because it also discriminates.
@@DocsDetectingSupply so with that nugget you found, even out of the hole, would my Garrett Pro pointer be able to detect it? Also, setting gold aside, is my Garrett pro pointer a useful tool for speedier recovery of trash? And thanks Doc for the help.
@@snowvalley11 Yes your pro-pointer should have heard that out of the hole. It was a nice chunky nugget. And yes, the pin-pointer speeds things up if it's a big enough piece of trash. But my Minelab will hit on a little piece of wire and sound just like a small nugget and pin-pointers have a real issue with small pieces of wire.
Not a huge fan of the coilteks, I don't like the warbling on targets. I believe the Minelab Commander series are superior coil. However, that was a pretty good dig on that little nugget.
Well at that time, I didn't know it, but I had shattered the elbow ball head of the radial bone in my arm. It got worse and worse and I finally had surgery. They could not pin the head back together, so they just cut it off. I now only have one bone connecting my elbow joint together. Lot easier to bang on stuff now.
hello friend! I need to know if your device gpx-5000 was made in China! the device gpx-5000 manufactured in China have lower price than those sold by MINELAB ... thank you
I haven't found a pin-pointer yet that gives me enough depth to be of any value on gold nuggets. Now I carry my Gold Monster around with the small coil on it and use it for pin-pointing.
Great machine and good skill, thanks for sharing
very nice deep detection of nugget on the detector
Awesome job. Doc
Nothing can beat a GPX 5000. ;)
