    The lincoln navigator is way better than the Mercedes GLS for sure

      I bought a 2019 Lincoln Navigator Reserve (fully loaded except the 2nd row entertainment system) for my wife. In the first 1,000 miles came the first recall. Then another, and another. We have gone from rear camera replacements (2 of them), to a door loose, to electrical problems with the memory (still acts up whenever it wants after dozens of visits to the dealer), to mirrors making unwanted movements, to 2 engine teardowns due to cam phasers rattle (oil was replaced every 5,000 miles or less and never the recommended 10,000 miles by Ford), to the 10 speed transmission noticeably hunting for gears and transfer case noses as well. The vehicle right now is at the shop and has been there for a week and a half for 2 more recalls. In short, the most beautiful, and sadly, POS car we have ever owned.
      My mother owns a 2021 GLS450 and never a problem. My daily driver is a 2010 Mercedes E350 with 230,000 plus miles and has been the best car ever. Not that Mercedes hasn't screwed up before as well, but the NHTSA manufacturer communications on the Lincoln do not lie.
      With that said, we ordered a 2025 Merc GLS450 yesterday. Looking forward to saying good-bye to the Navigator.

    That Navi was a pleasure to drive, but at 76.3" tall, it made my 80" parking garage overhead door with little no room for error. Its a vast hulk of an SUV.

    We bought a GLS 580
    In September. Test drove a Navigator L Black Label, Jeep Grand Wagoneer series III. The Jeep
    Was hands down better driving and riding than the Lincoln. But the best driver is the GLS.

      Same here. I test drove all of them. I even rented the grand Wagoneer, X7, Escalade and Yukon Denali, but I chose the GLS over all of them. The Escalade was the only one I was ready to pull the trigger on, 😊 I actually really like the navigator, but I can’t get over it, looking like a Ford expedition from the back.

    I guess you didn’t want to use the easy one touch button for third row access? It’s located on the inside pillar on the back of the door opening.

    I'm kind of comparing between these two as well but the Lincoln is definitely much larger. I honestly don't really think it's a comparison if you're looking to haul seven people regularly. The GLS is basically just a 3rd row for when you need it for short trips.

    I wonder why Lincoln didn't just give all Navigators the Powerboost drive train, especially at that price point?

    That Benz is not a big boy like the real body on frame TRUCKS it's the size of a telluride or Honda pilot

      GLS is bigger than Telluride and Pilot (the last 2 are the same size as Audi Q7). GLS is X7 competitor.

    Yea they need to start selling the black label up in Canada… air suspension soft close doors and nicer interior materials and interior/exterior colors are available.

    Where the Mercedes is the looser is its size. Too small and cramped for anyone 6’3” 260lbs. Nice but just not enough car. Plus the navigator stands out as a true full sized luxury SUV. The Mercedes just blends in with all the other mid-sized crossovers.

    I know Lincoln and Cadillac are trying to be competitive,but they are not in the same category as German SUV's or UK's SUV'S Range Rover etc.or Mercedes etc. those SUV'S have superior engineering,and Range Rover is world class ICON let's face it Escalade and Navigator are domestic trucks that is all they are.

      A lie. Range Rover consistently has the worst reliability of any SUV year after year. The depreciation is massive and it's why domestic pickups and luxury SUVs hold their resale much better than a Range Rover Sport or Evoque or whatever Landrover vehicle u want to compare.

    As a mercedes fan id get the XB7 or X7 bmw easily. Best 3 row luxury tech performance car u can get. Best looking.

      The X7 is great but slightly less passenger space than the GLS and not quite as smooth on most road surfaces either. I looked at the x7, GLS and Range Rover before picking the GLS in the end. Happy with my decision.

      The x7 and xb7 are so much better then both. Not trying to sound like a bmw fan boy just my unbiased opinion I currently drive a merc. X7 has the best modern looks, best performance, best tech and luxury

    The Lincoln is basically a cheap pick up with lipstick. The Merc is an entirely different proposition. Not even comparable.

      No no.. Lincoln has been around as an independent brand for just as long as Mercedes and they have been making incredible cars since.. just because they received help from Ford doesn’t mean it’s a pickup.

      @@fatphoca5009 well the expedition itself is the ford flagship so it’s pretty well equipped but nonetheless the navigator is from Lincoln.. they might share a lot but it’s a completely different set up.. same thing with the Escalade.
