I am deeply saddened upon hearing the legendary emcee Bob Barker has passed away, aged 99. He and his work on "The Price is Right" inspired my passion for game shows and has created an evergrowing legacy that has and will continue to be celebrated by millions. May he rest in peace. 🙏

Hello, I live in Brazil. Here we have a Brazilian version of “Bob Barker.” His name is Silvio Santos. He even hosted “The Price is Right” here in Brazil around the 1970s. While researching Silvio Santos, I discovered this show made in the United States. I loved the format and the hosts. I found it incredible that the show was produced for many years in the same studios, ‘Television City.’ And that theme song is simply wonderful. Greetings from Brazil to you all!

Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune have both been on since the mid-80s, but the current incarnation of Price is Right started in 1971. All of the major American game shows had earlier versions, but this is the most lasting one. It’s been on CBS at 11 AM Eastern time for 50 years.
I don't wish bad upon The Price is Right fans, because I've been a fan of the show since I was a baby. But it will be a sad and sorrow day if they do change The Price Is Right Theme Song one day. I'm not saying it will happen, but I'm just saying what will happen with the world if the longtime iconic theme song was changed to something different and unfamiliar.

A brand new car!!!!!", the contestant doesn't listen correctly and thinks he or she WON a brand new car by acting like a fool by jumping up and down, falling on their asses, or something embarrassing on national television (and it's funny as hell when the contestant loses). Beyond that a damn good game show.

On pet peeve (1) about"The Price Is Right": How dumb does the contestant have to be to require help on something simple as that or any other pricing game played? And, on the most recent episodes, how dumb is it for the contestant to ask the three opponents he or she outbid to get on the stage for help in order to win the prize?
While you have a valid point, you have to remember Price is Right doesn't test your smarts like Jeopardy. Though the fact these people can't figure out the zero rule on Ten Chances is quite maddening.
The Price Is Right is the greatest game show of all-time! They are #1! Drew Carey is so much better than Bob Barker. #2 is Let's Make A Deal. Wayne Brady is so much better than Monty Hall.
