    Sea levels are rising at a phenomenal rate and sea walls, have vanished under the tide. ''The island is sinking'', laments one woman. We see it with our own eyes. It is estimated that by 2015, the Carteret Islands will disappear under the sea. Already, the beaches are littered with fallen trees, their roots eroded by the tide. Rising sea levels have made it impossible for the islanders to grow anything apart from coconuts. They are now dependent on aid from PNG. Our houses are getting closer and closer to the sea’’,, complains one woman. Maybe one day, a tidal wave will sweep everyone away. The government plans to relocate people but many islanders refuse to move. As one states, ''If the island is lost, I'm lost too.''

      Nope, it ISN'T! Here's why;
      Naturally there would be thick mangroves along the edges of most of these islands, and the humans destroying them to clear beaches and get firewood, is EXACTLY what is causing the erosion of the island (atolls are made from sand washed up over corals, bound together with mangroves. no mangroves, no cohesion, massive erosion.
      Very simple.
      They are literally destroying their own habitat and using the UN agenda 21 garbage to blame the west under their massive accumulation of pure pseudo-scientific non-evidence.

    I've understood since I was a kid in 2002 that people were saying islands were sinking into the ocean. When I didn't hear anything else about it for years, I would not have guessed where this turned out after all to be true, or that it was already this bad back in 2007. I am so late to the party. According to whomever has posted Wikipedia's article about the Carterets Islands, they wrote like the islands are still there even as late as 2022, twenty years after I first heard mention of this phenomenon, so without further inquiry, I can't imagine what to expect now.

    What do you mean no one can explain it? The sea hasn't risen 1 millimetre anywhere. If it rises in one place it is impossible not to rise everywhere. These islands sit on the edge of the Pacific Plate and the Indo- Australian Plate.The Indo - Australian Plate is pulling the Pacific Plate down into the subduction zone and no amount of money can and will never ever stop this the most powerful force in mother nature! It has nothing to do with the outside world, nothing to do with the weather, Sorry! For people to think that we can control the weather is a complete joke, mabey in 500 years or so as we reach a much higher level of civilisation we can think of controlling the weather, but definitely not now!!!

    The southern oceans are rising as the earth cools. It is known that Antarctica has been building up ice for decades. The major effect on ocean level is the gravitational pull from the north and south polar ice. As the ice builds up on Antarctica the southern oceans rise. This overwhelms the effects of the northern polar regions. 2020

  • @laurejon

    Science has shown that these islands rose from the earth due to volcanic activity, as the volcanic activity subsides, there is cooling, and shrinkage, causing the islands to effectively sink.
    The solution would be to do as the dutch did, and build a sea wall and raise the ground level, reclaim what has been taken. Now that is where the money should be spent, but in reality money will be spent hiring experts who will watch them become extinct, but that extinction will be well documented, and recorded.

    To me this looks like normal coastal erosion. It's has been happening all over the world for centuries. Ever so slowly, a moving water will transport soil and sand away. Once you sicken or kill the surrounding coral reefs off the island, due to water temperature rise, pollution or otherwise, you'll end up with this effect. The ocean will come and erode away all of the island.

    "They know this is unstoppable."? Who wrote this script? The narrator said they don't have electricity, TV, internet, but they know everything about science. They're geniuses concerning global warming. That's ridiculous. They don't know anything about global warming. Somebody else told them what to say, they don't know anything about science or pollution, they don't know anything about anything. This narrator contradicts himself repeatedly. These people only know how to grow coconuts. Ask them about banking, aviation, space exploration, or even combustion engines, or how about ships, and scuba diving, hydroponic dams, electricity, medicine, math, etc. Do they even know that there are places called continents that are completely safe from sinking into the ocean? They probably think outsiders come from outer space. They only know what outsiders tell them. They don't know anything about anything. The politicians of the U.S. and England have told them what to say for this video. How do the people interviewed who barely speak any English and yet cited that flawless sentence? Don't show this garbage. It makes a great documentary on the beauty of islands, and the backwardness and ridiculousness of people who don't want to be advanced in any way and just want to be animals. Show them some documentaries with animals eating animals and then show them a documentary of humans driving cars, flying jets, traveling the world, eating glorious cuisines and living life to the fullest. They'll certainly choose that over being eating by animals, insects, and the ocean. They are forced into remaining this way by outsiders who prevent schools, hospitals, medicine into these areas. They're not being protected, see for yourself, you're starving and drowning them! And now you'll blame global warming. You greedy politicians! God will blame you for their deaths! The island chairman shown in this video who gave the journalist the tour is pretty selfish to not use that boat to get everybody off those islands and into a nicer lifestyle somewhere they can get jobs, homes, an education, medicine, and a life worth living. The woman discussed on this documentary has 7 children who she says are living on just coconuts once the rice runs out, show some mercy! Thank heavens the Minister told them the truth (but of course he's probably getting a pretty penny from the purchasers of the islands once all the natives are scared off by "global warming" this "impending doom"). And says the majority are willing to move. That's good news. I'm excited for their new life. But lets not teach them that it's global warming. Because next year the oceans might go down. Scientists don't know. They only know what they see. They don't know anything. Next year some politicians will build a resort there and profit for the next 50 years. That's probably what this is all about. It's just a scare tactic to get mining, coconuts, free islands, and also use this video to convince the rest of the world that global warming is real, while they can't explain why the Antarctica is growing, ice is everywhere. Probably if Antarctica becomes tropical, that means Canada will become Antarctica. The scientists don't know and won't be able to warn Canada until they're frozen solid like the Elephants at the top of the mountains all over the American continents.
