2 years passed and this video is still relevant. Some new devices still get relatively old chips for lower prices for different target buyers. Not all new devices are marketed for gaming, cheaper phones even in 2023 still get something like Snapdragon 450. I too normally don't game on mobiles as I prefer console. But just early this year 2023 I purchased a mid-range tablet for general uses, social media + entertainment + basic works. I'm happy it gets a lower-end flagship chip; Snapdragon 860. So started trying to play games with this tablet and it's more fun than I thought, really not bad at all.
If you don't care much about brand, you can get a device with the newest most powerful flagship chip 2 years after its first release for much lower price - 50% or even cheaper. Free market is good, competition is good for us consumers. One thing to consider though, it's not only about "power". The "ecosystem" for the device is important too, Apple and Samsung still dominate in this regard.

you really cant use the stability as any reference across models..
as it is so phone depended.
Take Mighty gadgets test of the SoC.
they saw RealMe GT fall 52% in the same 3D mark WL stress test. and only 52% stability on SD888 and from 5850 to 3234 score
and RealMe GT master explorer with SD870 they saw 99.2% stability and miles ahead on sustaining its performance with a score from 4256 to 4220.
so its down to the phone's build and cooling quality.
so it likely the most saying if you somewhat keep it in the same brand to have as few variables present if you wanna conclude anything in regards to throttling

    Excellent test 👍🏻
AnTuTu 9.0.3 is actually the last version.
I tested Yesterday the exynos 990 on note 20 ultra Android 11 one UI 3.1: the result was a surprise for me:
    666551 !!!
It's a better score than SD865 and no far away than SD870.
    But SD888 is a Master!
    Thanks for great video 😉

      @Mr.Tech2.0-fr Před 3 lety +1

Yes, I don't try one more time, probably you're right!
But my score AnTuTu shows that exynos is not bad, and can be sometime better than SD 865. For me it's a good information for users.
Samsung does a good work with the lastest update, exynos seems better with Android 11 one ui 3.1, Samsung minimises differences between exynos and Snapdragon with better optimization.

I'm totally not kidding when I say your are the best mobile hardware performance reviewer in the world. U bring the PC hardware review style to mobile. Most are crappy. You did a solid job. I don't think I can give you enough praise. Your videeo help my decision in buying my next phone. Thank you so much and keep doing what you do. I hope you become big success n an authority in mobile hardware review because the others need to follow your mould. Nobody else is close to being able to produce the results your produce.
You are at least one league higher than the other reviewer out there in the area of hardware performance. Just like Genshin Impact is one league higher in game quality Vs vast majority of mobile games out there.

However i am concerned about companies cheating by modifying the thermal config to minimize overheating and maximize battery life with OTA updates
In addition comparing 2 processers is only fair when it uses same enclosure ex s10 hot snapdragon or crapppy exynos version and same vanilla cortex design... A76 in this case

Just got my poco x3 pro. Idk why, but 60fps on my s8+ on codm felt alot better than x3 pro 60fps. Is this due to lack of optimization because the phone is just 1week old since its release? Or is it due to amoled vs lcd. Or just samsung display just much better.

It depends on budget, so SD 865 or sd 870 for efficiency, higher is better but more heating issue is seen in SD 888 but tbh other components also impact battery performance. Look for reviews.
