    Won't be long until we can see the hands of bananas! Hopefully the 'Double Mahoi' flowers soon with 2 buds, it will be incredible to see that, it's also possible to get 3 flower buds occasionally too.

      Oh wow, didn't know that. I'm thinking we will at least see the flower before it gets cold. It's pretty close to the height it flowered last year

      First hand just opened. Going to post a short later today on it. Looks like 12-16 bananas in just the first one alone

    Enjoying the shorts. Can u tell me when to stop cutting the leaves? So far I only leave 4 like you recommended. Also I'm using 30-30-30 fertilizer bc I couldn't get 10-10-10. Thoughts? Thanks.

      Leaving 4 is a good plan. Once you see the leaves start getting smaller (usually 2 before flower) then I would stop pruning. That way you have 5-6 once the flower is out. 30-30-30 is fine, just use 1/3 the amount

    I have two double Mahoi banana trees about 4 feet tall in large pots. Think they will produce fruit while in pots?? Or should I plant them in the earth?

      How big are the pots. I think they are probably going to need to go in the ground for good fruiting

    can I use any type of the dish soap for ants ?? and is it ok to use it in first place because all the chemicals in the soap

    • @georgiafarmingwithfluevog
      @georgiafarmingwithfluevog  Před rokem +2

      Yes any type will work. Dish soap chemicals aren't very toxic, so it's ok (in my opinion at least). I would not spray it directly on any fruit you will eat, but as long as you wash it off or let the rain wash it off
