Do you guys have any data on ceramic coated vs non-coated cast manifolds in terms of under hood temps etc ? I would think that by keeping more of that heat within the manifold, that the turbo would respond a bit earlier as well under ideal conditions ?

I want a tubular, but i'm just worried about the car burning down so i'd probably stick with the investment cast and factory heatshield. Most power id want to push is 700wheel anyway and it seems to be able to accommodate that.

I wish i went with a cast manifold / stock frame set up. I am currently running an EFR turbo / tubular manifold and have had my fair share of troubles. Between the manifold cracking + repair and my turbos oiling issues + repairs. I probably could have gotten a nice garrett GTX with the Investment cast manifold.

The same here. My JMF tubular manifold lasts about 2000 miles. I am tyred. I'm going to change to an stock frame set up (race cast manifold, GTX, external GW and 3" O2 pipe)

@@DAVINCIEVO I had the set up before. I was full bolt on in stock turbo making around 370whp. The cast manifold would have been the icing on the cake. SOOOO Glad you made this video!!! I was very indecisive on what manifold I should get for my build when that time comes. (Hopefully soon). I'm on all bolt-on with a tune right now. I always wanted a tubular manifold mainly because it looks badass and they say the flow is better. However I didnt know that the cast manifold was as good as you say it is and I know it is very popular in our Evo X world. Now I feel I'm more indecisive than before BUT it's a good thing. I certainly dont want to lose low end torque! I love that but I definitely need more power up top. My stock turbo just runs out of pwr up there. I will upgrade both but tryin to minimize low end torque as much as possible

Make sure you torque them immediately after each heat cycle. I torque cold, start car idle it, torque again,. Once at operating temperature I'll torque again go for a drive and torque when I come back home and it's good. If you track the car and it's backing out you'll need either oem washers and nuts or nord lock washers and probably some wire to stop the nuts from backing out
