My heart stopped for a moment at 4:19 😵😵
Andreas is definitely one of my guitar heroes and one of the players who really got me in to guitar playing/loving/worshiping! Really sad hearing about the end of Sepultura the other day...
We LOVE these types of videos. The in the workbench videos are my favorite. Love the stories and the chit chat, low key, just hanging out vibe. No one does it better bro!! Love riding along as your channel grows Rob. As always...HEAVY METAL OVER EVERYTHING!!
Yes to ASMR!
I gotta say, these videos are becoming part of my evening wind down routine. Just something to help me decompress, wind down and destress from the 9-5 grind. Love learning about guitar maintenance as well. thanks for the great content Rob as always. Keep doing your thing! 🎸
QUADRA is already a classic metal album. 10/10
The performance videos are awesome too! Keep it bro, I always look forward to your videos. I'm still just hoping and patiently waiting for the day I get online and see that Chimaira is back 🤘🏼
Chillin' with Rob, is a good day, no matter how you spin it.
Blocking the bridge totally works to get your float very close. If your changing gauge and tuning it's still going to require some spring adjustments though at the end. Either way it's really just about balancing the spring tension one way or another.
I did the same with my new Quadra guitar today, but set it up for a different tuning which Andreas is known for: Bb standard. I used crazy thick GHS Zakk Wylde strings (70/52/36/18/14/11) and now I have that dark Bb growl very tight and massive. What a fantastic guitar, Floyd 1000 is very good and the 81 sounds incredible!
I love your videos dude i always look forward to it. Greetings from South Africa
I think Andreas RRv is his more iconic guitar for him. But this one slaps too
There is that very kick A$$ instrument again. Glad you did the restoring and set up on it for us. Much appreciated.
Super awesome thanks Rob
Glad I found this video I grew up on all the greats of Heavy Metal and the many subgenres as you have. When I first saw the custome Quadra album cover guitar watch the solitary EMG 81 PICKUP. I knew it was gonna be a killer 🪓 I've notice in recent years it's been almost considered cool to dis EMG 81 AND 85 set or solitary EMG 81. I finally got my dream guitar mid last year. It's Schecter preloaded with EMG 81 and 85 pickups..absolutely love it. The shape and beauty of Stratocaster, tuneomatic/set bridge, satin finish. Some folks say hey thats cool because the ways its set up you vsn easily put other "better" active pickups in there. Nope, NEVER going play anything but the EMG 81 and 85 set. It makes me happy knowing that the musicians I grew up with are sticking with tried and true formula.
Amen! 81's for life! And congrats on your new axe! It sounds like a beauty!
i need to organize and clean my workspace and practice areas big time, i think this will be my next Jackson, another great video, thank you ra
I actually just got a jackson myself. I’m normally an Ibanez guy, I do own a EII horizon baritone 7, but I had a guy trade me one if my ibys for his jackson. And it’s a Japan made white soloist, I just upgraded a bunch on it, but I love it! Never thought I’d own a jackson lol
Those sharkfins are bad ass I wish all my Jackson's had shark fins but only 2 of them do. The mini ones are ok and my wildcard soloist has one sharkfin outline at the 12th fret which is kinda cool.
Rob, dude!!! My bulletproof coffee tastes better and is much more enjoyable while watching your setup vids. I can't get enough, other than your power chord strumming provides soul satisfaction!
That guitar looks fire! Hows things been Rob? Anymore Chimaira tab videos in the future?
Things are great as usual bro! No Chimaira scrolling tab videos on deck, but I suppose one might pop up at any time!
These are cool videos. I often go back and watch your vids on setting up the perfect float. 👍🫵
That guitar is bad asssssss!
Pro tip, when installing the cover screws turn anti-clockwise with a screwdriver until you feel it drop before turning clockwise. This aligns the thread with the one already in the wood which prevents cutting new threads and eventually stripping the hole.
@@RobArnoldWorld This can also be done with machine screws in metal's.
Loved this video. Just hanging out vibes. Sounded just brutal when you plugged it in!
I think the 1500 series has upgrade string blocks and a push in whammy bar
Great video! Love these style videos. How do the Jackson guitars feel compared to the esp and ltd guitars that you are used to?
Thanks Jake! They're just "different". That's the best comparison I can make honestly. The Jacksons are well made and play great, like the ESP stuff, but I can tell they're just a little different in the way they feel and respond. Not in a good way or a bad way, but just in a way you'd expect I guess, with them being different brands. It's all great stuff for sure though!
@@RobArnoldWorld I totally understand what you mean! I'm sure that makes no sense to so eine who doesn't play guitar or is just getting into playing 🤣 but that makes perfect sense
Definitely prefer Max but bad ass band regardless, big influence over the years👊🏻sick guitar man🤘🏻
I have all the respect in the world for guitarist who use Floyd Rose Tremelo setups. They're amazing works of art. Many of the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth have used them. Anyway i just wanted to add to my previous comment. In concurring with you say that Andreas's signsture style of using the tremelo bar ntm his solos in general have influenced countless guitarist. Also yesh Andreas didn't play his solos for sake of showing off. His lead playing are songs within yhe song. IMHO that's so much more important than racing to cram as many notes 🎶🎶 as humanly possible .
If I remember correctly, the fr 1000 is basically the same as the original, just an import version.
Hi Rob I enjoy watching your setup videos. Do you ever file your nut slots wider to accommodate thicker string gauges on your non Floyd Rose equipped guitars?
Another nice tuning video Rob. Two things I'd like to ask and that Is did you check the batter life and does it really matter if you cut the ball of the end of the strings or can you just leave the ball on the end of the string and let it sit in the sable of the bridge.
Thanks Darren! I did not check the battery, as the guitar is new, and I figure it's good to go for awhile!
I always cut the ball end off, but some guys leave them on and string it up backwards, so that the ball end is up at the headstock. To each their own!
Hey Rob, which guitar tech box are you using? Would love to get one similar. Thanks for always sharing the amazing content!
Hey Rob, love that guitar! I’d like to see a video that’s about your rig behind you. Like how you set up your rack, wiring, and how you incorporate it with your amp and cabs. I think that’d be cool. I’ve always just used pedals and never tried the racks.
Love love love these tutorials rob! The good ol string stabbing always hurts like a mfr lol, everytime i change strings they get pushed down after clipping the excess, the old fashioned string winder got replaced by a ernie ball pro string winder a year ago, takes less time to do a restring
Wow, this guitar's really attractive... looks stunning ! What's the US retail price btw ? Not sure you can find this model in Europe atm.
Looks like they're going for $1400 on Sweetwater sweetwater.sjv.io/AndreasKisserJackson
And they also have a demo for $1200!
And Thomman has one for $1029! I don't know how they're selling it so cheap, but wow! Unfortunately though, it says shipping in 12-15 weeks at Thomman, and that sucks!
Hey, Rob. SICK GUITAR, dude. I have always been a huge fan of Jackson guitars. You were saying you don't know the difference between the Original Floyd's versus FR1000'S. They are basically the same thing!!! Just think of the FR1000 as a slightly lower profile version. The originals are made in Germany, while the FR1000 are made in Korea. You really shouldn't have ANY tuning issues from the 1000.
Thanks man! So I think that I've found that it's the FR1500 series that I'm not a big fan of, only because of the trem bar attachment design. I don't like that you have to adjust its tightness or spinnability, with an allen wrench. I prefer the screw on design that I'm used to.
I'm guessing that might be the only difference between it and the FR1000? I'm not sure!
Change your name to Rob the Roadie. You need to have your mess organized. 😂 always love your videos, thanks 🤘🤘
Sweet guitar and sounds killer! Hopefully you'll fully recover from the horrible disfigurement! 🤣
Get some chrome Sperzels locking tubers on that monster...🤘
Just got a set my self to put on my RA-600 (Just to make it that mush more of a fanboy guitar) 😉😁😜
Great Video! What is the height of your pickup ?
I just eyeball it. I try and get them close to the strings, without interfering in any way.
When the outer springs are angled, the middle spring isn't really doing as much as it could (and sometimes nothing at all!)
Middle is under less tension being straight would be the reason. Typically better to go straight and add or remove springs as you drop tuning and increase gauge size. 2 springs will do the trick most of the time on light gauges and standard, Eb and drop D.
@@ronsin9490 I understand the why. Always funny when the circumstances line up and you can easily pull the middle spring out with your fingers.
Yeah for sure dude. I didn’t mean to sound pretentious with my comment, was just kind of piggy backing off your comment after Rob said “interesting” to add a bit of clarity. You’re bang on bro.
I just dropped my LTD ML to D standard with regular slinkies and I had to put this all into practical use during the setup. I had 2 springs in angled and standard tuning with slinky hybrid 9’s. Jumping to 3 springs with even placement made my setup about as seemless as you’d hope on a gauge and tuning change. Not a dramatic change albeit. But always cool to see how people go about the process. Love the floating bridges and I’ve got 7 of them so I definitely sympathize with the pains of the process and appreciate the cool ideas tricks and comments people share over the years.
I know what you mean about being able to sometimes just lift that middle spring out. But I guess I feel it must still have some effect on the tension when you dive the bar down towards the strings.
Lately I've been experimenting with 3 springs in the V shape, vs. 4 springs all straight, just to see what kind of difference it makes on the overall "feel" of the bridge. I personally like when a trem is super spongy, and easy to wham in either direction. But so far my results remain inconclusive. @@RyRyTheBassGuy
Hey rob, I have a Jackson soloist but it needs a new Floyd bridge. Where the bridge pins are the plate snapped. Do you know if it would be a specific size for Floyd or they all pretty much the same?
Hmm, I'll be honest and say that unfortunately I don't know the answer to that man. I guess I'd assume they're all a standard size, but I'm not positive! Maybe check www.fu-tone.com or www.floydrose.com
You Should do a What Chimaira Songs Sound like With Seymour Duncan Super Distortion Pickups And Ernie Ball 11-50 Strings
Yeah, i love this shit, Robbo.
You do have a very listenable voice, no homo.
Funny enough, i keep going by Cleveland with these milk loads im doing 😂. How are the Jacksons? I keep reading things about QC issues and ive been hesitant.
PS: The Floyd to avoid is a Floyd Rose special. Cheap parts, and they wear out way too quickly.
Great Neck right there = ) THe rest .... idk lol I like your long sleeve shirts, can I get it with the picture on the back instead? THanks bro
Do you mean the ones in my shop? The RobArnoldWorld ones?@@HoytFergus
Shouldnt you always do final steps in playing position with floyds?
Na... It's intonation that's recommended to perform in the playing position. But for most guys, it's not going to make much of a difference either way.
Nice vid! Still trying to catch up with the everything you love vids (a goldmine for me)
But I don't know man, that guitar seems like a bit of a "prick"🌵😅
Ok, let's talk about your hair Rob, getting kind of long now. How long are you going?
I've been growing it out now for 2.5 years, and I think I need another 2.5 years to get it where I want it!
Is a expensive guitar
YOU DL@K😂 I was treated a years old seeing the damn cable trick. I've been playing guitar 40 years. I think I'll just walk on homeboy, guitarist walk of shame😢😅
Dangerous half-knowledge, but I think the Floyd Rose 1000 and 1500 are more affordable Korean-made "official copies" that use inferior metals, i.e. softer ones that get chewed up by strings and trem use faster than the "real" Floyd Rose. The 1500 has a push-in arm and stainless steel screws, that's all. Neither is available to purchase, they're for guitar manufacturers only.
Is it a Jacksonville swap meats kisser 👶🎤🙏
Sorry Rob love ya bud but i think one vid on this guitar was enough everyone knows Andreas was Max's bridesmaid.
