🤣🤣🤣 You really had me there! I was sitting here going "oh come on that was just a silly Easter Egg, why are you even bothering to try and analyse it?!" Mind you, you're dead on about things in dreams taking on different meanings according to who's dreaming. I once glanced through a stupid "dream interpretation" book which claimed that if you see rats in a dream it means people are sneaking around behind your back. Well, I have pet rats I love very much, so when *I* dream about rats they always represent something I'm responsible for taking care of. The more stressed out I am about something that needs doing, the more likely I am to dream about rats.
Yeah those dream dictionaries reveal more about the author than they do about the dreams lol. And you don't think I can't made a serious discussion about pigs and their orifices? Challenge Accepted!
Very interesting and insightful, I honestly think while the Easter egg is for laughs, I still think the association with both raz and loboto in regards to both raz's experiences with him as well as udder randomness. I recently had a dream and wrote it down as detailed as possible, while some details were unclear or random I did clearly remember both my previous homes backyard and the store I used to go to, but I know it's different because I know certain individuals and details weren't there in real life. Plus I remember snapping by fingers and a quick fire plume was emitted🔥 Also like knowing the comparison in regards to both conscious mental world's and processes as well has the randomness and alot of times uncensored thoughts and meaning in dreams
Yeah I think both of the men mentioned had a point. Never got why they had to be mutually exclusive ideas. I used to have a recurring dream of being in my front yard watching a volcanic eruption burst from.the house and the magma dripping down the lawn towards me. Weird stuff
@@GamingUniversityUoG sounds like a "Hot" topic. I appreciate the insight. I also made an interesting connection strangly enough from an episode of next generation: our minds are like a holodeck but it as well as our memories and experiences are only in the confines of the circuitry of our brains. (Which makes me draw on the comparisons between both conscious mental world's and processes like in basic braining and unfiltered versions of events and other information such as in the brain tumbler experiment and the meat circus.
Even though this is an April Fools joke, I do like looking too deeply into things that aren't there, because as you've said, sometimes there's something there that I can disregard, and sometimes there's things that aren't there that we shouldn't. So why take the chance?
As a lucid dreamer I know for a fact there are types of dreams, and not all of them are meaningful. One type of dream I reffer to as practice dreams. These dreams start by mentally priming you with knowledge of the scenario, and then leaves you to get on with the siumlation. If you fail, the dream resets back to the beginning and refreshes the information. In so doing, it also makes you forget the previous cycle happened at all. This means you can go round and around in this cycle for hours without getting board, because you're unaware that your going around in a circle. These practice dreams end when you have found the solution. The purpose of these dreams is obvious, to make you more capable of surviving or thriving in the proposed scenario should it happen in real life. These kind of dreams are often mistaken for nightmares, when the scenario your brain proposes is scary. Especially as the cyclical nature of this dream type makes the fear seem inescapable. There are 2 ways to escape these dreams 1) convert it into a wish fulfillment dream (can be hard to achieve as it'll fight against this) and then abuse the god like power you have in wish fulfillment mode. 2) "solve" the scenario. This is the easiest, as strangely, deciding "not to get into the situation" during the dream, counts as solving the scenario, and I've broken out of many such nightmares in this way.
You really got me good. Believed this was a serious video right up until the very end when you said it was just an excuse to say psychic uterus in a video and I remembered what day it is.
It's still March where I am, but as soon as I saw the blurred-out animatic I knew what was up. Well done. On a more serious note, it might be important to remember that Ford teaches Raz new abilities in the same place as in that original dream. Does Ford enter Raz's mind by the same means as before?
That dark space is honestly something I have wondered about. It seems to be an empty space between minds. We notice that at the end of P1 that Oleander and Raz's mind meets in this dark space and breaks apart when their minds are separated. Definitely a setting that needs to be revisited
@@GamingUniversityUoG if I remember correctly, other than the dark rift of separation between the two minds as they separated, wasn't the space where ford was teaching raz how to use techniques centered on the aquato wagon? and with them being a traveling circus, it makes sense that raz might not really have any clear image of the stuff around the wagon. the wagon itself, though, is the place raz considers "home" (regardless of whether it is a good association or not, he still considers it to be where he comes from). as for the dark rift between the two minds as they drift apart, i imagine that would be better interpreted as [null], than as "darkness"; it is not a space, but a lack of space, merely a representation of separation between the two.
The dream Animatic was made by Adventure Time’s creator Pendelton Ward also known to go by simply “Pen Ward” The way you get this… Easter egg, is by throwing a PEN into the WARD part of the “maternity ward” sign in this level’s segment.
Dreams are the mind's means to organize information, old and new with the end goal of making the person have the information in the long term memory, or even short term depending the person's subconscious desire if they want to keep the info or not. Being in the recalled or surface memory can also happen as the end goal.
The first time I've been here this early and I already know where this one is going. Thank you for this gift! Partly related, but I shared the playlist with my Psychology professor and she's thinking of using the game as part of an assignment! So that's pretty cool.

All jokes aside, I'm quite excited to see the deep dive into PSI King's Sensorium as this level contains and focuses on Panic Attacks and sensory overloads which are both things that I have experienced before.
I love how this video tries to dissect how dreams work in Psychonauts in away that makes a lot of sense only to end talking about pregnant Ras shitpost. EDIT: I am very aware that was release on April Fools day.
What does it mean when one dreams of their childhood bedroom and as soon as you sat or lie down on the bed, swarms of cockroaches flood out from under the bed, crawling and flying around and your body is petrified and you cant scream or move as the roaches surround you.
Grab a seat in the couch lol. So when doing dream analysis it is always best to learn the tricks of how the symbols work then look at it yourself. The biggest question i would have you ask is how do you feel about your childhood home? Good experience or bad experience? Safe haven or prison? From there you can extrapolate the cockroach part.
God you had to add that cursed Easter egg in there. I groaned when I saw the maternal ward before the easter egg happened. Nice one, was very cursed but entertaining to see you try and decipher the random chaos.
i will say that jokes aside the concept of dreams in the world of psychonauts is a pretty interesting one, though probably not one we really have enough information on to say much about. The most I could imagine is that the Caravan is always on Raz's mind since he's on a constant time limit to finish his psychic training before his parents get there in a few days to yank him out of the camp, and that becomes a neutral (to Raz) staging ground for Ford to pop in whenever he wants to try and teach him something without having an amatuer psychic lighting things on fire in his underground psytanium hideaway. Plus it's possible that this is simply what Raz's psychic world would look like if we ever got to experience it unmolested by the Brain Tumbler or Coach Oliander's subconcious binding itself to it for the endgame. Maybe in another universe where we play as Sasha or Milla we're learning how to perform these abilities in the early areas of their own personal mental worlds as we see them in the game. Anyway thank you for birthing this video from your psychic uterus.
