14 years later, we've seen her date grown men in her teens, have eating disorders, multiple addictions, now she sings to aliens and whatnot. Demi's proof of the fact that the "la la land machine" will crush the spirit of all young and impressionable artists, no matter how brave and strong you are. She's a fighter, but fighting on your own only can do so much.

I used to watch this video every single day, multiple times a day. She CARRIED Disney in terms of vocals. I used to sing along trying to figure out how to get my voice as powerful as hers. can we take a moment to appreciate the composition of this piece? the opening guitar chord progression, the descending minor triads in the chorus as the chords follow a smooth descent pattern, the way the drums start slow and low but go to a bouncy beat, and then goes to a smooth flowing ballad and back to bouncy while letting the opening chords play unaltered.
its a beautiful piece and has tons of effort clearly put into it by the composer

Demi is the best artist to come out of Disney. She was like 16 when she dropped this album and the talent leaves me speechless..pop rock is totally her sound and I wish we got more music like this from her. All her music after this album was good too, but this song and album specifically just speak to me on an entire different level than any other music she has released.

Mare Barriga i used to have so much respect for Demi until she became so hypocritical. Take her recent incident with Taylor for example, she preached about loving your body and it's okay to be different sizes. Body shaming was the reason for her depression and eating disorders yet she went on to skinny shame other women.
She did not body shamed taylor at all, people misunderstand and make drama for everything. Demi said that Taylor squad only shows skinny girls, she certainly did not body shamed taylor or said that being skinny is wrong she did criticized that you cant see a variety of sizes and she said thats unreal for people. And honestly, answer me is that not true?? All girls in taylor squad show this ideal of being perfect and skinny, they are not normal skinny; they are tall, with a big butt and boobs and they dont have a belly, they are the concept of perfection. Mare Barriga I really love demi and it's true that a lot can change within 5 years. she has been such a big inspiration for me cause we kind of went trough the similar stuff during these years and though of course I don't know her it always felt like I had someone who understands what I'm doing through. @Sam Thank you for saying this. Addiction isn't as easy as simply stopping and never going back. Your body becomes dependent on it and you get insane withdrawals and cravings. Just like how she'll always have bipolar disorder, depression, her eating disorder. She'll always have to fight for herself with her addiction as well. She's done so well. Hopefully now she'll keep good people around her and won't ever overdose again. She deserves to be happy and healthy.

When I was about 9-10 years old when this video came out, I swore up and down I would be successful, go to college and be straight edge. Fast forward to me now at almost 20 years old and BOOM! Never had a real minimum wage job, can’t stop partying & turning up, turned down rehab for my substance abuse disorder, hospitalized countless times for a mood and personality disorder. Skipped out on college till now. People just change, shit happens in your life, and before you know it, you’re _not_ the same person you were when you were a kid and you’re not the person you thought you’d turn out to be. But you fall seven times and get up eight. It could be anyone! Demi’s trying her best 😊
