Ladakh statehood demand explained: Sonam Wangchuk ends 21-day hunger strike | What is sixth schedule

- Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who ended his 21-day hunger strike on Tuesday to demand statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, said "the pain of broken promises and that cannot be presented as anti-national". Wangchuk also said that he was "not at all" against the Central government but would like to appeal to it "not to be against Ladakh". In this video we try to explain why Ladakh is demanding statehood and why the govt is reluctant to accept it.

And if you have ever been to Ladakh, then you must know how innocent and pure-hearted these people are. Their culture and tradition, these monasteries and festivals are so amazing that people from all over the world come to see them. Ladakh is having only 33% agricultural land and rest are non-fertile. Whether not to utilize this non-fertile land of minerals ?
Due to less agriculture season in ladakh, young ladakhee has to do porter jobs for their earnings. Employment through carrying Militery supplies, foods at high points for the indian military.
Opposing new projects how this livlihood problem can be solved? Should people sufferrings continue.
