That's the right result I feel. Good game both teams. Thanks Matt for all you do for the softball loving folks no matter where in the world.
Texas was definitely the better team here but Canady stole the show for me! Her grit and talent is so impressive. I love seeing the success she’s brought to Stanford but I wouldn’t mind seeing her follow Vawter’s footsteps and transfer to a program where she can really shine. Either way, I’m happy to see Texas advance!
NEW RULE:
The pitcher can not pitch 2 games in a row. I am sad to see the same pitcher pitch every game. I thought this was a TEAM sport.

Canady is an amazing player but let’s face it all Texas had to do was wait for a slip up from Stanford and the game would be there’s and that’s exactly what happened. Unless Stanford gets Canady some real help this is the teams ceiling. Stanford had one hit the entire game for a team to win the world series that simply is enough though Stanford definitely overachieved the past two seasons thanks to their pitching. Curious how Stanford will look moving forward with them now part of the ACC.
Stanford will dominate the ACC. If they can pick up 2 or 3 hitters in the transfer portal they will be very good.

A pair of errors - Stanford's 2B on a routine grounder, 3B chasing the Texas runner to the advance base during the rundown - led to the only run of the game. Tough way to decide such a tight, terrific game. Congratulations to Stanford on a great season. Good luck to Texas in games to come.
Stanford had completely given up by the time the came up to bat in the 7th. Defeat was written all over their faces and body language. A sad way to end the season.
Hats off to Texas, though. They are the better all around team.

I was on the first base side and when Kern got called out for delay of game in the 6th you could feel the energy leave Stanny. I think Kern carried her frustration over to the 7th with her when she committed that error. During the warmup between innings you could tell she was visibly rattled still 😖

Simply,even though it was a close game (1-0) Stanford just really couldn’t hit Kavan...although the spotlight was on Canady, check the box score on both pitchers and see who really controlled the game.Kudos to both teams on a very hard fought battle…Hook ‘em!
Texas is strong enough to take it all. Both team's pitching is dominate. Defensive decisions let Stanford down. If Florida vs Texas is the final, so be it. But I'm hoping the SOONERS still have something left in the tank.

I dont know about y’all, but where I’m from everyone is taught to chase the runner back to the bag! If there’s a pickle between third and home and the ball is at home, CHASE HER BACK! As soon as they see that ball leave your hand, they’re going to sprint for the plate….
Why do these announcers on all of these games, refuse to say ELIMINATION game? Drives me crazy.

Stanford completely blew it over a sloppy play. I keep seeing so many sloppy plays and baserunning that lead to runs scoring needlessly or runs not being scored that should have. It’s a weird trend going on in softball and baseball. Get back to fundamentals!
You’re completely right. An error on an easy ground ball got the runner on base. Then pushed the runner towards home instead of third. They were given a gift when Stanford pitcher was dealing all game.

Did anyone else notice Nyjury's lower lip after the loss ? it was sticking way the hell out there like a swarm of bee's stung it . A great pitcher has emerged in Kavon for Texas plus Bella Dayton is a super player .

Why in little league and college is it called The World Series when more than 2 teams are still playing. A series involves only 2 teams playing against each other. The World "Series" is between the last 2 teams left. Is calling it Little league or college "playoffs" not allowed? Also, wouldn't it seem fair and appropriate in a women's sport for all the umpires to be women?
