I drive a 03 Hyundai Elantra. My wife drives a 2013 Hyundai. We have bought several cars for our children. We haven't had a car payment since 1987. We pay cash from savings for our cars, home remodels and updates, vacations. You have to save and live a lifestyle that lets you save at least 10% of your income. Never buy anything you can't pay cash for except your home and never let your mortgage and escrow exceed 25% of your take-home pay. Good Luck everyone and save money.

"never let your mortgage and escrow exceed 25% of your take-home pay" might not be possible for some cities, and expensive mortgage can still be better than renting. But 100% right about living within your means and people should really save more than 10% if getting paid more than the minimum wage.

My read on this is Mexicans do not have the same awareness of hygiene and protecting one's self from germs and infection that other cultures do. They're not social distancing here either and it's creepy. I feel bad for them, many Latino communities (migrants, immigrants) all over the U.S. have the highest infection rates of any people group. It's really sad, but this has been going on for a long time. I used to work in food service, and observed a lot of Mexicans who didn't practice proper hygiene when serving food, didn't wash their hands, put their hands on clean plates and glasses after bussing dirty dishes and silverware, etc. And would stick their hands inside the rims of dirty glasses, then go on to handle more clean dishes and do place settings. Just a fact and not a "race thing." They need education.

Ein Stein Most people in my community (Mexican & Filipino) follow the protocols and there are no problems here.
The reason you are seeing higher cases in these communities is because a majority are highly exposed to the virus as sanitation workers, caretakers, medical assistants, food service workers, janitors and grocery store workers and transportation and food factory workers.
They don't have the luxury of staying at home telecommuting.
Meanwhile, there have been thousands of White Americans protesting at beaches, crowding beaches and parks and not practicing social distancing. You conveniently ignored that. Your theory is wrong and full of stereotypes.

Handy Sandy yea says the one where Americans complain that illegals are stealing your jobs and we all know that’s not true. The reason is because many of those jobs Americans don’t take or want so who gets them the illegals and minorities of this country. Yes in many countries we value family and community that’s why many people from other countries including Mexico embrace their ancestors and their heritage, we are proud of who we are. If you were living in a country where theirs no jobs, lack of resources and extreme violence were your family is endanger what would you do. You will go to find another place where your children and family will be safe, go to a place where theirs opportunity. But I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t understand since you live such a privilege life you don’t have to worry such things. You should be glad you live in a place where’s opportunity and safety not many have that luxury. P.S I live in America and no I don’t think every American is selfish or lazy I know plenty who are humble and glad they live here. But there are many who are selfish and lazy and yet go out and say they are patriotic when clearly they only care for themselves. So don’t go on a ramble saying all immigrants better yet people outside of the U.S are are third world scums or lazy or whatever.

How comes people with jobs becoming so poor in just 3 and 4 months? I live in London and
Me and hubby earns around 2800 pound in London. We use 1600 for all bills etc, 200 car insurance and 600 food etc. We still save 200 and 300 pound every month and put it in our small box. And now that's what we are using on food so we don't have to run to food banks

have a friend that makes $300k a year from minimum wage 15 years ago. He NEVER owned a car. He says that he doesn't put money into depreciating assets. He just put in $100k in the stock downturn last month and made a fortune. Americans needs money management skills.
