"Just Wondering" by Maarten Schellekens - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I had one when i was stationed in Germany 🇩🇪. It was m&m green.
My Father's '70 1.1-liter 2-door sedan was a sort of mint green, took a hard hit to the left-rear quarter panel and when the Buick body shop returned it the trunk lid, left-rear fender and rear panel under the trunk were painted a hideous mis-matched overcooked broccoli green. it stayed that way for another ten year until he traded it for a 1985 Dodge Omni.
The taillights on Pop's and most '70 kadetts I saw in the period were all red, with no dividing trim except between the red taillights and the back-ups.
I don't remember the three-color lights but I do remember horizontal dividers in the '68-'69 models.
war mein erstes coupe, Kadett Rallye 1,1 SR 60 PS mit 2fach Vergaser, sehr sportlich, sehr geil, das war 1975 geile Zeit 💕💕 und geiler Wagen 😍😍
Very cool car. Thanks for sharing!
Love the American version of the 1970 Kadett Rallye.. front grille treatment wrapped around the front corners and the rear taillights wrapped around the corners better, no trim inside but larger red areas.. flat black areas on hood aren't supposed to be waxed shiny! Flat black is much better! Love the 1.9L engine, made 102 HP and would chirp the tires in 3rd gear 🥰
Thx for the comment David. The American version is cool! Have you ever owned one?
Love Opel
Its a beauty for sure. And a true joy to drive!
Beautiful Kadett, l had on when l was about 17, 40+ yrs ago, twin carbs, painted it red & boy that car was fun to drive.
Had two driving lights on the grill.
THx for the comment! It´s a beautiful and fun car for sure!!
Very first car I owned, I had it for seven years till got stolen during my Tijuana Mexico’s visit.
Thx for the comment. How sad. Did you ever get to see the car again?
Unfortunatly never was recovered😔
@@joseesparza2911 How sad :(
@@joseesparza2911 thats the saddest thing I’ve ever heard
I had this car, same color.
Thx for the comment. Do you know if your old Rallye Kadett is still alive?
I bought the same color combo new in 68 great little car very quick street light to street light. Carburetor was q jet cut in half small primary big secondary really came on over 3000 rpm felt like four more cylinder’s kicking in.
Thx for the comment Jerry. And thx for sharing your story.
I had one of these in college. That car was so fun to drive...when it ran. That 2 stage Solex carb was nothing but trouble. Left me stranded many times
Thx for the comment! Its a fun car for sure!! :)
Had one of these in the late 70’s. Best car I ever owned.
Hey Patrick and thx for the comment!! Lucky you! It is a beauty for sure! Do you id it´s still alive today?
@@tomaxcar don’t know what ever happened to that car. My brother wanted it, supposedly. I let him have it because of his whining. I had several cars. Always have. He lost it to the city of Denver because he wouldn’t pay the parking fines he racked up. I didn’t want to pay them because they would never end. Anyway, last I saw the car it was parked on the street in Denver. Somebody got themselves a great little car at a police auction, I suspect.
@@patrickperry6945 what a story! Hope it is still alive today!
A nice type of Kadett
The one in the video is a very nice car.
I don't know for sure when I had my Rallye Kadett. But, 1970 sounds about right
I didn't know the car. I just needed something to drive.
It was a sleeper. It was much faster than I expected it to be. It was the first I heard about 2 bbl carburetors that worked like a 4 bbl--you floor it and the second barrel kicks in.
It had the 1.9 liter motor. It might not sound like much. But, it was the larger model. I think the standard Kadett offering was 1.1 liters.
Mine was silver with black stripes. Silver never was a good color for a car. It wasn't very old. But, it still had the fading and loss of luster you often see with silver.
I had a lot of fun in mine. I also liked the European design of the interior and dashboard.
Thx for the comment Edward. What a lovely story. The Rallye Kadett is wonderful car! Wonder what ever happened to your car after you sold it? :)

Normally, I don't answer that question. That's because it didn't end well for the owner who came after me. But, since you asked.
I'm afraid that being a 19 year old kid with a car that peppy didn't bode well for the car.
I pushed the motor to the limit one too many times.
First, the manual transmission died. A friend helped me replace it in his garage.
Then, the fit of the internal parts started getting sloppy. I didn't know much about such things. I just wanted to get a newer car. So, I sold it to the lady down the street for $500.
I feel bad to say someone told me the motor needed a major overhaul or replacement not long afterwards.
I wasn't trying to take advantage of her. I had no idea that was going to happen. But, I didn't have the money to repair it for her. Or, give her a refund.
If there was a good one around somewhere, I'd still like to own one. The only thing I might change is the upgrade to 2 carburetors instead of 1. Like on the Opel GT. I think they were Solex carburetors.
I am just reminiscing about a 1969 Opel Kadett Rallye I had bought back in 1981. Cool little car. I remember there were these 2 guys that wanted the Opel and traded me a 1971 Malibu for it.
The 2 guys wanted the Opel because they wanted to put 440 engine in it. I have no idea if they ever did that or not
Thx for the comment nazfan01. And thank you for sharing this story. Wonder if your old Rallye Kadett is still alive today :) Take care!
I am looking for new rims for my Kaddett B and to keep the stock ones w/ orig. hubcaps, but I am not sure if I must stay w/ 13" rims, or go taller?.. My '66 Karavan wagon had stock 14" on it..?
Schönes Auto
Danke für deinen Kommentar Andreas. Es ist wirklich eine wahre Schönheit!
geil geil geil, mein Traum als ich 18 war und schon früher
