From the moment I saw Bottle Rocket on video when it was first released back in the mid nineties, I knew I was watching a unique and talented filmmaker. I looked forward to his next one and I was not disappointed when Rushmore arrived on the scene. One of my favourite stories of Wes Anderson and his style of film making is when Robert Yeoman, his regular DOP, tells on one of his films, that before Mr. Anderson arrives on set, he must center the camera on the set measuring precisely. And once Mr. Anderson arrived on set it was the first thing he asked Mr. Yeoman, "Is the camera centered?" I am a lifelong fan of Wes Anderson and his team of filmmakers and patiently wait for each of their films.

I love Wes Anderson movies, and it’s not the quirkiness, or the visual symmetrical style (although I do enjoy those things), it’s definitely how I feel watching them, especially The Royal Tenenbaums, which is still probably my favorite Wes movie. He manages in his own unique way to draw out emotion, it isn’t nostalgia, or comfort, but it’s a similar feeling. He’s one of my favorite movie makers

The first time I watched Rushmore I did not get it. I don’t think I laughed once. Years later I watched it again it was like it just came into focus and I got it. Been a fan ever since.

I liked Bottle Rocket. Not sure why 399/400 would reject it.

Anyone know what was the Scottish school in the mix for Rushmore? I went to a school which I think would fit the same... wonder what W.A. had in mind?

I'm almost certain that Wes is somehow related to the Wilson Brothers. Their quirks, ticks, the way they speak almost the way they look. Just, I don't know. Can't put my finger on it. But I'm almost quite certain. Lol

Grand Budapest was a masterpiece. French Dispatch was an overly esoteric convoluted mess. It was like he was trying too hard or something.
