鮮やかに浮き出る赤の縞模様はまるでバームクーヘンのよう☆
校庭に植えられていることが多く、馴染みの深い木です。
桐の代用として棺桶等に使われてきた歴史がありますが、実はとても面白い鮮やかな杢目が出るんです！
九州は宮崎県、霧島山の麓で夫婦で製材所を営んでいます。
木に取り憑かれて半世紀の男のロマンを発信中！
国産材、自然乾燥にこだわってやってきました。

憧れの木でした。奈良の聖徳太子生家にて、種子を見つけ、我が家の土におろしたけれど、発芽せず残念でした。その木の内面、なんと美しく、ミステリアス。静かな命のドラマ、幸せな動画です。現場は、薫り、感動、気高さ、最高の棟梁、それに高揚感と幸せに満ちていますね。羨ましい

Greetings from Puerto Rico USA, wha a great wood you have there, I always have been dreaming about a piece of wood like this of 4" deep x 14" wide x 36" long for a Puertorrican Cuatro, a 10 strings instrument. If only you could sell it to me. That would be great.

@@kirishimasawmill Yes it is unique. Most people don't realize that each timber has a different scent and each slab is a one off pattern, no other piece will look the the same. It is often planted in the school grounds in Japan and is a familiar tree.
There is the history that has been used for coffins in substitution for a paulownia and originally is not expensive wood. Value is finished from a color and the vividness of the design recently.

センダンって柔らかい軽い桐の代用くらいに見ていたが利用価値ありそうです。棺桶に使うとからしいけどもったいない。

おっしゃる通りです。乾燥が早く、乾燥すると軽くなる特性から、昔から桐の代用にされてきました。
最近は木工芸界でテーブルや家具に使うようになり、原木価格も上昇してきています。
きりしま木材としては、看板材として納入したこともあります。
色が鮮やかで、杢目もよく映えるので、様々な可能性のある材だと思います☆(^.^)

This tree dries quickly. And when it dries, it becomes lighter. It has been used as a substitute for paulownia for a long time.
It is used for tables, furniture, signboards, etc.
Because the color is vivid and the eyes shine well, I think that it is a material with various possibilities.

Chinaberry is often planted in schoolyards and parks in Japan.
I don't know in detail where this tree grew, but I think it was like that.
