The smoke/mist around Muzan is actually like a wisteria barrier. So the moment he went through those doors he was just tanking it or totally immune to it. Any ordinary demon would have just melted instantly the moment they went into that compound.

Iirc Tanjito did also defeated one demon before he is trained by the former water hashira.

That was mostly Nezuko. Those three are the only one who defeated a demon without help.

in the manga it was shown that sayo was actually reffering to the demon as the monster but she was so traumatized that she didnt under what she was saying and when she grew up she said she regrets her choice of words and wants to apologize to him (but we never saw sayo again in the anime)

That kid honestly could have just gone back to the house and the demon wouldn't come in because of the wisteria. Then he could have warned everyone. Then Gyomei would have beat his ass if it still tried to enter anyway. Or they could have waited things out until Morning with wisteria as a deterent. Downside is Gyomei wouldn't have become a demon slayer. As tragic as his story is the demon slayer corps needs him.
It's been long theorized that he could possibly challenge Akaza as a true equal. Which makes sense because he's a goddamn tank and that's what Rengoku was lacking. Durability. Try making Gyomei a donut and see what happens. The guy is probably too big for Akaza to damage him in one shot in the same way he did to Rengoku. He's like five times Akaza's size and is all muscle. Not to mention the combat discipline, strength, and experience difference from Rengoku. Out of all the Hashira he was probably the best suited to face Akaza. If he went to the Mugen Train then no one would have died. Akaza would have gotten away because he would still be too difficult to kill.
And let's say Akaza does make Gyomei a donut. That's not going to kill him that quickly because of how huge he is. Akaza's fist might not even go all the way through. So Gyomei would be bleeding out more slowly than Rengoku and his life wouldn't be in immediate danger since the support slayers were nearby in that case. In fact I could see him putting Akaza in a bear hug and holding him until Sunrise. What will Akaza do with all his limbs restrained? He'd be screwed.
Looking at the scenarios Gyomei was the only one that had a chance of taking on Akaza and defeating him in Mugen Train while surviving. A lot of people disagree because of Akaza's unique abilities that haven't been explained in the anime yet but honestly Gyomei might be a good counter to it because of his fighting style being vastly different form the other slayers.

The new arc shibuya
Giyomei's back story was really tragic, he did everything he could to protect them but only manage to save one child. I was expecting they'd show Giyu's back story after what happened in the first season of Episode 1 since he's with Tanjiro and the story of Rengoku before he becomes a Hashira and Mitsuri as his student.
Giyu backstory was already given in the episode imao u didnt watch it i think. Plus Mitsuri being a student was mentioned in S1 or movie i can't say as i dont remember her lines that much

(Read carefully at his comment) He's talking about the Giyu Gaiden book with the Rengoku Gaiden book where Giyu investigates a group of hunters getting killed by a demon along with Shinobu (this is right after Episode 1 of the first season takes place), not the very first episode where he encountered Tanjiro and Nezuko after their family got slaughtered. There's more to Giyu's backstory than what was shown in both of the anime and the main manga books. Also no, Mitsuri's backstory to Rengoku training her wasn't mentioned, the manga book of that wasn't made initially, as Demon Slayer began its anime adaptation in 2019 where the manga ended at 2020. So the Rengoku Gaiden book was made therefore after the manga finished which was after Season 1 finished, the idea of Mitsuri being trained by Rengoku wasn't made back then till the manga ended in 2020. Wait what are you talking about with Mitsuri being trained or as a student, there was nothing mentioned in a "movie" or "S1," literally don't know where you got the info from exactly to be honest? *He did watch it, he's taking specific details of the series taking place as something that Ufotable could expand upon in the anime, he's not on the wrong place, you're probably just confused on what part he's talking about accordingly.*

@@natalimoina The author said right after the manga ended that they started working on "a Rengoku Spinoff manga" (You didn't know?) which wasn't completed at the time, meaning that they would be forming the idea of this story beforehand. This *wasn't during the anime* which was a year before the manga ended, this wouldn't mean during the series if the idea of Mitsuri being trained by Rengoku was made, they would've initially started that idea around the time it was announced, not the time that the anime was airing. The gaiden book was months after the manga ended which I would presume that they (Ryoji along with Koyoharu) probably were pitching the idea for the story at that time, doesn't mean that a year after the anime that the book got announced exists within S1, it *WASN'T ESTABLISHED BACK AT THE AIRING WHICH IS A WHILE FOR IT TO BE PRODUCED.* this is 1.5 year after the *FIRST SEASON,* That's a long time that they would pitching the idea, it doesn't matter, the story wouldn't be pitched at the time that season 1 was airing, understand this from a prolific point of view. Also during the time of the anime with season 1, the author would've been concentrating so hard on the chapters to about 50-60 at the time before it ended, also had family problem emergencies when rushing through the manga, because it felt too important to her schedule, a Rengoku Gaiden wouldn't be definitely in development at that time if the manga was currently going through some panel structures and time constraints.
No.....S1 didn't had that at the time, this wasn't established actually before the announcement from your point of view because why would they add that when it was not part of the manga or that the book didn't exist when we manga readers wouldn't expect things to happen, the Gaiden book wasn't made initially for planning during that time (wait...... I recognised you somewhere, oh my god, your the guy who said "the manga version for the Hashira Training arc is engaging, entertaining and had a lot of depth like with the anime version," when I said that Ufotable made the arc 10x better than the manga version, get out of here, don't embarass yourself with misconception).
The next Episode the hasira unite is gonnna be an hour long probably
I'll tell you why receiving the letter made Zenitsu so unhappy. What was written in it, exactly? His teacher, the erstwhile Hashira, is where it all begins. Kaikagu went on a demon hunt with the Demon Slayer one day. When he finally saw Kokashibo, he made the threat to kill him unless he turned into the higher moon. There's a law in Demon Slayer that states that if any of your discipline turns into a demon, the hashira must bear the punishment. That coward kaikagu turned out to be upper moon five. The previous Hashira committed suicide because he started blaming himself for not having taught Kaikagu properly.
That's what was stated in the letter, which explains Zenitsu's extreme melancholy. . I can't wait to see the animated version, When Zenitsu defeats Kaigaku in the upcoming season finale. I apologize for any spoilers, but I just had to tell everyone about this wonderful story.

I’m just gonna be honest, Gyomei has quite possibly the unluckyest backstory in the series in my opinion.
Also to tell the truth, I’m kinda surprised that they didn’t decide to end the season with this episode. Because this would honestly be a pretty SICK cliffhanger to leave off the season.
and the last episode is about 40-45' so that mean we will definitely see the infinite castle again
