For the final Problem - 2,5,8,9,9,11,12,15,19,21
Mode = 9
Median = 9+11/2 = 10
from the formula 3median = mode + 2mean
30 = 9 + 2mean
mean = 21/2 = 10.5
mean - median = 10.5 - 10 = 0.5
mean = 2+5+8+9+9+11+12+15+19+21/10
= 111/10 = 11.1
mean - median = 11.1 - 10 = 1.1
why does the mean from the formula of 3median = mode + 2mean is different, Are there any conditions that the data set needs to meet to satisfy this condition?
formula, often referred to as Karl Pearson's Mode-Median Skewness Measure, holds true only for symmetrical distributions.
this question is actually skewed distribution , so this formula is invalid in this case.
