Those who used to be very poor, lost everything due to the natural disaster, mainly came to Dhaka and Padel rickshaws. But even in 2024, hand-carried pushcarts are used in Pakistan. Human rickshaws are more inhumane than pedal rickshaws. Even in many parts of India it is still practiced specially I saw it in Kolkata. But this type of human rickshaw does not run in Bangladesh.

@@damodaran2629I don't know about Punjab but Bengal was supposed to be entirely an independent country. But the Hindu leaders of West Bengal didn't want to merge with the Muslim majority East Bengal. So the political leaders of West Bengal preferred religion over language and culture and stayed with India. Losing West Bengal and Kolkata, East Bengal became crippled as it didn't have proper port and administrative capital at the time and so had no choice to join Pakistan instead of declaring a full independence in 1947.
